That pic almost certainly shows a vertical radiator inlet as well

That floor might be a Bahrain spec as it looks different to others (but they are all using the vertical slit inlet).

They have left a lot of detail off the car in this form. The nose, both wings, and the floor will be much more complex.

The launch photos are of a vanilla version of the car that was at the launch which is a vanilla version of what RBR will bring to Bahrain. Just look at the "E" in Oracle, and the sidepod intakes.

This

is not the same as this lol

dang

my guess is that by the time Mercedes rolled out their side pod car last year is about the time Newey said to himself "wait, why are we letting the inlet dictate the sidepod design? Imma design the sidepod with no inlet"

Kinda funny how the excitement with other cars is around the livery and with Red Bull, it's "what has Newey cooked up now!?!"

yes. but that upper part of the car is ugly

anyway, as you said it will be either one or the other.

I suspect number 2, but pluri champion mercedes a couple of years ago came with a revolutionary concept.. that was shit

RB said this is just a “launch spec” car right? It seems they’re still hiding a few things. Apparently the real car will make its debut in Bahrain.

I’m honestly just fascinated to see where the hell the sidepod inlet really is.

The "launch photos" are definitely renderings.
There's no panel lines, no quick turn fasteners, no carbon weave. I would ignore those completely in favor of the actual photos of the car.

Those high "shoulders" on the car are very interesting. Plus it looks like they are diverting a TON of air under the car, more than I've
noticed on other teams anyway.
I wonder if they've developed some super secret high thermal-conductive coolant, because they don't seem too worried about
getting much air to the radiators.
Newey is God level engineer. Hopefully when he retires he doesn't go to the grave with all that trapped in his brain and teaches
some college courses or something. lol.

They spent a bunch of time and resources on R&D of the cooling system over the last 16 months as wind tunnel time is not restricted.

The aerodynamic testing restrictions exempt “windtunnel testing solely for the development of power unit heat exchangers that reject heat to air”, which means you can do work with the internal flow of these ducts. A similar exemption applies to brake system development.

W14 vs. W15

The spray and vortexes near the floors and between the tires looks near identical, but the flow over the car and over the tires - things look less disturbed.

The Dutch media outlet Telegraaf released more “information” after the launch with a sexual story. They then followed up with a “RB is trying to speed up the timeline”. British media is running/reacting to the stories coming out of this outlet.

Late last week it was announced that Horner is suing Telegraaf.

Rules:
Only 1 submission allowed!
Survey closes on Thursday, February 29th at the beginning of FP1 in Bahrain.
It is possible some questions are not answered until after the 2024 season is over, in that case no points will be awarded for those questions.
Ambiguous situations or tied questions will be answered in the most logical way possible. Can't promise it will be perfect, F1 is really weird sometimes...

If he didn't lift, he would have ran into the the cars.

Wish I could find the interview, but Schumacher was asked how many laps it took before he would go flat out through there. "On the first lap."
