Anyway, if I were fighting in Ukraine and was only given an AK-74, I would welcome a Hi-Point for a side arm. They work and it's better than hand to hand if your rifle is out of commission. |

My thoughts when the war first started are showing legitimacy: Why didnt NATO design and employ Russkie missiles on NATO planes? Granted its showing with the artillery round issue Ukraine has but still. Do any NATO countries from the former com bloc have the plans and tooling to produce 152mm rounds?

Interview with a little footagehttps://www.facebook.com/MinistryofDefence.UA/videos/721283435593375/ SBU initiates seizure of assets of Belarusian fuel company involved in financing Russian aggression Among the seized assets are corporate rights and bank accounts with a total value of almost UAH 20 million. According to the Security Service, this network specializes in wholesale of various fuels. Over the past year, it has exported goods worth almost UAH 20 billion to Ukraine. The company had Belarusian state-owned enterprises among its founders, purchased raw materials from Russia and paid taxes to the budgets of both countries. In view of this, the network is directly related to the financing of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. All seized assets were transferred to the National Agency for Detection, Investigation and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA). Detection and documentation of criminal activity was carried out by SBU officers within the framework of criminal proceedings under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: ▪️ Part 2 of Art. 110-2 (financing of actions committed for the purpose of forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of borders of the territory or state border of Ukraine); ▪️ Part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation, misappropriation of property or taking it by abuse of office, committed under martial law or state). So is himars a weapon that will get deployed at night? It's essentially a airforce precision weapon. Reading the warzone article they don't do volley fire with it but more of precision strikes.
Day time strikes would have the Russian military put everything on them trying to take those four out. Yeah their artillery can't touch it but leaving these out in a field could get a kalibr dropped on it. |

The system has been designed to automatically detect UAVs, determine their position and block their communications, guidance and navigation systems forcing them to land. The Silok radio-frequency jamming system has been optimized against low altitude drones. The Silok-01 system was deployed by Russia in the summer 2018 to protect the World Cup and thereafter was deployed in Syria. In November 2018 the system was already deployed and demonstrated near Leningrad. View Quote |

Well, it took 4 days but I read all of this..
Sheesh. A couple of questions for the hive. 1. I read that Russia is suffering a microchip shortage. I assume the get them from China anyway, so is this any different than the shortage everyone is facing, or something totally different? 2. I assume most drones have IR cameras, ergo making cover much harder (ie simple trees just are not enough). Is that a bad assumption? |
|
|
Probably most drones in use there are day camera only. The larger systems and US provided systems might be thermal.
