That is my memory as well.  There are no ammo bins outside the turret.  That was extra ammo that had to be loaded.  One box holds 230 rds, the other 70 rds.  Standard loadout was 230 for HE and 70 for AP but you could load either in either.

For those of us who lived there during the time around Maidan -
yes - it was totally organic.

We were the ones pounding the streets, not some rent-a-prostitutka from
the flavor-of-the-day NGO as told by those from the foreign media
who never turned a shovel of dirt in our country.

There weren't any gunks running around the streets throwing dollar
bills at us & telling us to go protest. Sh*t didn't work that way over there
then for that.

Don't care what anyone else thinks about it. We were there, we lived it &
we breathed it. We know what we experienced.

This is interesting, most of the Leopard 2's are 2PL versions, with complete upgrades to the fleet to be completed this year.

If Ukraine gets this version, nice!!

http://www.military-today.com/tanks/leopard_2pl.htm

In 2015 the Polish MoD selected Rheinmetall of Germany as a favorite bidder to upgrade the older Leopard 2A4 tanks. An upgraded version was developed by Rheinmetall in cooperation with a number of Polish companies. It is called the Leopard 2PL. The demonstrator was first publicly revealed in 2016. In 2018 a contract was signed to upgrade the 142 Polish Leopard 2A4 tanks to the Leopard 2PL standard. First upgraded tanks were delivered to the Polish Army in 2020. Deliveries are planned to be completed by 2023.

GOOD.

I'd more likely believe this then in the ultra-competent, overthrow any gov't super CIA. They seem to fuck everything up. Cluster munitions were literally invented to stop communist Zerg rushes. The human waves are going to stop real quick the first time a DPICM pops off

Gee, I wonder which country this might be for.

It is noted that the deal covers the supply of 122-mm ammunition of increased range, “which should significantly increase the performance and efficiency of operations.” The ammunition will allow ground forces to concentrate fire at a range of 40 km.

Elbit Systems manufactures 122 mm Accular missiles. These munitions adapt to already developed and tested platforms.

The company’s website notes that the ammunition meets the requirements of urban warfare and satisfies the need for an operational reaction in almost real-time.

Ammunition for Ukraine
European countries and NATO member states plan to increase the production of artillery ammunition in 2023.

This is directly related to the fighting in Ukraine and the support of the Defense Forces.

WSJ journalists assessed that Ukraine uses approximately 40,000 155mm artillery rounds monthly, and the production capacity of all European countries is currently at 300,000 units yearly.

2) I’m not exactly sure what point you’re making, but it seems to be moot regardless. Let’s assume, for a moment, that the CIA was the mastermind behind maidan. So they succeeded in helping Ukraine get rid of a Russian puppet (or at least “Russia-accommodating”) president, and replaced with someone else. So what? Doesn’t mean Russia can just start lobbing cruise missiles at Ukraine. Would Iran suddenly have the moral standing to invade Iraq, just because a third party (like Israel) helped orchestrate a revolution to get Iranian-influenced politicians out of power in Iraq? It’s pointless quibbling, even IF Russian propaganda was right. I don’t get the point of even really bringing it up.

Very well stated.
And we have yet to see ANY evidence that the CIA had any hand in Maidan. I suspect that once Maidan started, maybe State Dept. maybe CIA gave some advice on organizing or some money to post on Social media. The CIA was not handing out crock pot helmets or garbage can lid shields and paying Ukrainians to be out for months freezing in the street and getting shot at.

Ray Epps and the glowies blended in well in DC but I doubt a bunch of feds would have gone unnoticed in Kiev handing out bricks and molotovs.

It seems like america has abandoned the culture that you are referring to. We now largely have a culture of selfishness, blame somebody else, and individual greed. Don't believe me? It's easy to find people who are willing to pass laws to violate your rights, so long as long as they get to keep their stuff.

Nothing like your Amazon Loot-Drop™ drone shitting chaff and dodging incoming AA.

What a time to be alive.

Everything the Wagner assholes do effects their bonuses. They get paid by the meter they can advance. The UA have bounties also on RU equipment destroyed of captured. It's nothing new.

But if Trump was still President, I'm sure he would be impeached again at the news of "bounties on Bradleys".

Yeah, it'd be kinda funny if we/NATO did like China did in the Korean war; just jump the border and immediately push through the country until you got to the border you "wanted."

I don't necessarily want that to be attempted, because Biden and the (military) leaders around him are leftist pukes who would likely mess it up as they usually do.

The extreme 5% of the right and left are both very similar is base ideology - authoritarianism.

On topic, that video about a dozen post up of the heavy machine guns engaging Wagner, then artillery finishing the position off was *chef's kiss*

I'm not talking about stretching out one roll of wire and calling it good either. I'm talking about a belt of wire using two rolls on the bottom and another on top, all staked in and rigged with booby traps, trip flares, audible alarms, etc. And throw in some tangle foot as well on either side. Let those motherfuckers walk into that shit then smoke their asses with claymores. This way, the Ukrainians won't have to expose their firing positions at first contact. There might even be a few of old Vietnam vets around that can teach them how to use phougas to fuck up the orcs. My favorite method is putting the fuel mixture in 55 gallon drums and putting them just behind the wire barrier. Wire in a claymore behind each barrel and use the claymore to ignite the mixture and blow it out through the wire. This shit turned many a Vietcong/NVA sapper into crispy critters. I'm sure the Russians will find it equally impressive.

I suppose we haven't seen much wire barriers used yet because up until recently, this has largely been a mechanized war. But this would be the perfect situation for such measures. Maybe we need to add a bunch of concertina and barbed wire to the next drawdown. Wire may not seem important, but when the fight becomes mostly stationary and there's lots of sneaky foot soldier shit going on, it can quickly become a difference maker.

Good point. There seems to be very little wire used. Maybe they dont have any. maybe it's just not in their doctrine. maybe the lines are too fluid. Or maybe wire obstacles just cannot survive the arty prep. given to a position. I dont know.
