Just as I figured, that village was wiped out from locals betraying them to the Russians who hit the cafe of mourners with an Iskander missile.

who during the occupation of the region went over to the side of the ruscists. The traitors received "positions" from the occupiers, and before the liberation of the region fled to the russian federation.

So they returned from Russia to set up the targeting? Or they knew from other locals via phone or social media of the large community gathering and location?

More details on these scum…

The culprits of the massacre were 30-year-old Vladimir Mamon and his younger brother 23-year-old Dmitry Mamon, who went over to the side of the Rashists during the occupation of the region. One of them worked as a “convoy group driver”, the other as a “road patrol inspector”.

On the eve of the liberation of the region, both traitors fled to #RussiaIsANaziState with their families, but remotely formed their own network of informants.
Under the guise of friendly conversations and correspondence in the messenger, the brothers asked people for information about the deployment of defense forces and mass events in the region.

Collecting data about the reburial of the deceased Ukrainian Defender in the village of Hroza, the Mamons understood that their acquaintances would certainly die as a result of the attack.

️The number of victims of the russian strike on Hroza has increased to 55, said the speaker of the regional prosecutor's office Dmitry Chubenko. According to him, two women who were reported missing were identified.

At the same time, he added that the death toll could increase to 58 - there are statements about the disappearance of three more people after the explosion.

I find great irony that they are named Mamon, after the demon of wealth and greed.  Sometimes these things make me wonder.

“Mamona" (sometimes "Mamuna") is a synonym for mammon among Slavs. In the 21st century, the word "mamona" is used figuratively and derogatorily in Polish as a synonym of money. In Slovak the word mamonár is sometimes used to refer to a greedy person.”

Agreed, that was a great summary to help explain how Russia has their fingers in more than one spot at a time.

In the photo, I am in the funnel from the Podar aerial bomb. A very large and heavy aerial bomb.

Estimate the scale of the crater and consider the total tonnage of this racist shit.

That's why the last "days" I have very little "free" time... really little.

They are both good, but I actually prefer NASAMS because of the passive targeting without having to turn on radar.

This is why Ukraine needs an Iron Dome type system. The Iron Dome interceptors only cost around $50k instead of the $800k-$1.2M ea for the AMRAAMs used by NASAMS

Uralvagonzavod celebrated its 87th anniversary and handed over another batch of armored vehicles to the troops

The Russian Armed Forces received from tank builders new T-90M Proryv, as well as T-72B3M with additional protection.

“The UVZ team provides our Armed Forces with modern and reliable armored vehicles, demonstrating high-quality and rhythmic execution of state defense orders. In this case, we are talking about the most popular models - the T-90M “Proryv” and T-72B3M, which have proven themselves well in the air defense zone. I would also like to note the work of the company’s designers and engineers, who continue to improve armored vehicles taking into account the experience of their combat use. It is this work that helps our military personnel successfully fulfill all the tasks assigned to them,” noted Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.

Special equipment was loaded for the first time onto a flat car model 13-192-01, developed by the Ural Carriage Design Bureau and manufactured at Uralvagonzavod. Despite the special tasks assigned to the staff of the Nizhny Tagil enterprise in the conditions of the Northern Military District, the production of freight cars continues. The flat car 13-192-01 is the main rolling stock product in UVZ’s order portfolio. It is universal, but was primarily developed for transporting heavy tracked and wheeled military equipment.

“Today, UVZ is once again entrusted with the mission of protecting and upholding the interests of the state. Car assemblers, metallurgists, toolmakers and other workshops and services work towards one common goal - providing our military with modern combat vehicles. The great history of Uralvagonzavod, responsibility for the future of the country and new generations of Russians motivate workers to the same labor feat that their grandfathers and great-grandfathers once accomplished. And this feat, I am sure, will be written in golden letters in the annals of Uralvagonzavod,” noted Alexander Potapov, General Director of Uralvagonzavod Concern JSC.

lack of quality infantry for Russians. He says the lack of infantry is now compensated by massive artillery barrages but this won't last long, at least until Ukrainians haven't brought up their own artillery reserves. As the best-case scenario, he says, Russians will make Ukrainian life in Avdiivka more difficult.

The Russians have to make it look like they are doing a valiant fight, then they call in that they had to retreat because there's just too many Ukrainians.

Actually, it's Ukrainian artillery pounding them though.

Without the reliable supply of drones from Iran wouldn't Russia have run really  low on their own stocks by now?

They started making their own at a factory in the Russian eastern area.  But there were reports of an explosion at that plant a few weeks ago.

Overall, we missed our chance to deal a quick and efficient killing blow to Russia post-Kharkiv, when they were in a much weaker position than they're in now. As a result, we're still heavily trending towards a geopolitical world that entails a multi-polar Axis (of which Russia is still a large part) vs US hegemony.

I've said this multiple times before, but I think it's a large mistake to view all of our geopolitical opponents and problems as existing independent of one another. You can see the influence of China, Russia, Iran, and their associated shitholes everywhere. Hamas and Hezbollah are currently attacking Israel with the blessing of Iran, Wagner is active all over Africa, Russia is using Iranian kamikaze drones to kill Ukrainians, North Korea has increased its military connections with Russia, and China is happy to sit on the sidelines as the US is hyper-polarized politically. An all-out war between Israel and Iran/its proxies is easily within sight, and China will probably initiate the war for all of the marbles in the South China Sea when they feel the time is right.

The US needs to take an assertive role, because the last thing we need is conflicts involving Russia, China, and Iran to kick off all around the same time. Let's crush Russia in Ukraine right now so we're not dealing with round three of this shit when China goes for Taiwan years down the road. We should also start fucking with Iran covertly more than we have. I don't want to see a ground war kick off between the US and Iran at least under current circumstances, but I do think there are ways we could destabilize the regime there without having 1st ID storming towards Tehran. The US also needs actual competent leadership. Round two of the grifter vs the senile old fool isn't going to cut it.

...and on today's episode of forgotten weapons.

Apparently asking for a PKM got us two of these antiques. They came in a nice crate for both of them, complete with spare heavy barrels, bipods, tool kits, scopes, slings, and carry bags. I took some time to familiarize myself with them, and set them up on the tripods. The recruits are cleaning them tonight and will get to shoot them tomorrow.

Nice!  Czechs have a history of good weapon designs, solid and reliable, and that weapon and mount look o be clean, simple and effective.  Once you have had some running time with it, please post a review!

From the list of Users on the UK vz. 59 Wiki:

Ukraine: 3,200 UK vz.59s were gifted from the Czech Republic, sent as part of a military package in response to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"The pistol grip acts as the charging handle for the Uk vz. 59." I also found this part of the description interesting.

Orcs have mined vast areas around the frontlines. It is almost impossible to get to most of positions with heavy vehicles or civil 4x4. Only on ATVs or on foot with such a "cart" in which they can deliver ammo, food and supplies.

Two of these carts were handed-over by
@baraban_odessa
to Mariners of 28 brigade.

This is the sort of stuff that US IBCTs need, not freaking "robotic mules" which will get stopped by the first strand of concertina wire they encounter, or have their autonomous navigation spoofed by bits of trash.

We were sort of on the right track with the ISV (Chevy Colorado chassis), but then what are we going to do when the few hundred of them get chewed up in the first few weeks of a major conflict?

I won't derail the thread further but anyone who has seen the products displayed at AUSA these last few years will know what I mean.

Man, I know what you mean.  We need more practical solutions to problems in some areas.
