The emergency landing was due to a failure of the hydraulic system, according to the CEO of Ural Airlines. The passengers of the plane that landed in the field near Novosibirsk received financial compensation 100,000 rubles for being scared. The investigation revealed 15 errors and contradictions. Today Ural Airlines plane will be dismantled for “parts and scrapped” according to Izvestia. There are breakdowns, emergency landings, and rollouts beyond the runways almost every day. New evidence suggests that Russia’s civil aviation sector is on the verge of collapse. According to reports from the country’s aviation authority, flights of Russian aircraft are getting dangerous due to a scarcity of spare parts and maintenance due to sanctions. Russian airlines and aviation authorities are solely responsible for putting planes in the sky and Russians’ lives at risk. They continue to claim that everything is fine. If a fatal crash of a Boeing or Airbus flown by a Russian airline kills hundreds, Putin will blame the West as he does for everything else. |

But it is not going to be agreed to easily or quickly. Ukraine aid is needed right away. It is asinine to tie a long term political lightning rod issue to an issue that should be a no brainer for both sides and needs immediate action. Perfect formula to torpedo Ukraine aid without explicitly voting against it. And as I mentioned it is stupid of Republicans to think Ukraine aid is desperately wanted by the Dems. The Dems will gladly let the Repubs take the blame for the failure of the border AND no Ukraine aid. I can see the Repub campaign ads: “Herr derr we tied border security to Ukraine aid and it failed and we have nothing to show for but we sure showed them Dems!” |

I happen to think the relatively tepid response from dems is because they are simply paying out all the rope the republicans need to hang themselves. Then, after months of the republicans looking like the unhinged morons they’ve become, they clean up in the election and do what they want. It’s risk-free for them. They don’t actually have to take a position on anything. |

https://twitter.com/TreasChest/status/1732573637444526319 As we predicted, the Senate did not support the termination of the debate on the bill on the package of international aid, - Oksana Markarova, the ambassador of Ukraine to the United States. "Today, 51 senators (49 Republicans, one independent Bernie Sanders) and one Democrat (Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer, who voted last when the result was clear) voted against ending debate on the international aid bill released the day before, which included Ukraine, Israel , Taiwan and the states of the Indo-Pacific region. With 60 votes required for a decision, 49 senators (47 Democrats and two independents) voted for the start of work on the draft law. This does not eliminate the possibility of re-introducing the bill to the vote in the near future. "Representatives of the Republican Party, who announced a negative vote on international aid in advance, previously stated that they could not support a bill that would not include the issue of the US southern border/changes in migration policy," the Ukrainian diplomat said. Markarova also expressed her own opinion about the consequences of this decision for Kyiv. "What does this mean for Ukraine? At all meetings, the senators assured us that today's vote is not a vote against Ukraine. That the internal political events taking place in the US Congress will not affect the continued support of our state, which will be continued thanks to bipartisan support. Therefore, we continue active work with our colleagues and based on very productive meetings these days, we hope that even before Christmas, the Congress will support an agreed package, which will include defense, budget, humanitarian and energy aid for Ukraine for 2024," said Markarova.
