Even with the "free" flow of information there via the internet, Russia has already cracked down hard and it will continue to get worse. Only the military leaders and oligarchs matter at this point. The West has GOT to do something that throws Russia off balance if the plan is to not have Ukraine lose millions of innocents. Despite everything done so far, Russia has already pretty much cut off half of Ukraine. Soon due to lack of power, internet, food, heating, water, hygiene people will be dying in mass without shots being fired. That doesn't even take into effect the likely food problem for the rest of the world without Ukraine pumping out tons of grains and corn. I want to see something done elsewhere outside of Ukraine that forces Russia to make a decision. At least find out the state of mind of Putin and the leadership there. Right now we are just going off of assumptions and words of a known liar. At this point someone should be doing something outside of Ukraine to get a reaction. There are many options: Belarus, Moldova, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, etc. Fuck around with Russian interests elsewhere. Play similar games as them. None of those countries can do jack shit to the West. Parking a carrier group off the coast of Cuba or Venezuela would make Russia do something. Taking them has to be on the table, especially Cuba. But I don't think it even has to go that far. There are plenty of ways to cause trouble without firing a shot. |
