Russia has decided they don't want none of that triple lucky

It looks like they were in the process of splitting and took a little too long. On the flip side, it also looks like Russia can't hit shit.

-edit-
I love how they spliced in a TOS1 salvo to the end of the footage. If you pause it, it isn't even the same place. It's just there to go "Here's some big explosions for the grand finale!"

I seriously doubt any Ukrainian is going to look upon what happened in Mariupol and choose to blame Zelenskiy rather than blaming the Russian scum that destroyed the city and murdered thousands upon thousands.

YMMV.

I have been advocating that Arfcom should stop permanently banning paying members, and simply institute long temp bans. Social media is critical in the 2020s, as many people have this as one of their only forms of social interaction. A permanent ban here is potentially devastating.  Though there is always exceptions for extreme cases, the vast majority should get a month off tops to cool down. I’ve said my piece on it, and I won’t thread-slide anymore.

yal, what did he do to catch a ban? He's a long term member with a lot of expertise.  If he's perma banned I am pissed off.

I'll be super fucking pissed. I went back and he had a nothing tongue in cheek post on page 1963 of this thread that was edited.

I'm not going to flip until I see confirmation (or the conspicuous lack of) but the guy spent a shit ton of time trying to improve this site. I'd put him in the top 1% of members. If he's not welcome here, well that says a lot.

He was just temp banned for "repeated mod and staff bashing" earlier in this thread. If he's locked this soon after that temp ban was up, I'd be more surprised if it wasn't permanent.

Damn. I read like 1500 pages of this thread and somehow missed that.

Everything I saw previous was him trying to help. I'm surprised if there was a falling out between him and "the site." Sounds like he got krpinded.

I don't want to go too much into this in this thread, lest sandy vaginas become irritated. Is there another thread about this?

If there was, I'm sure there no longer is.

ETA: And also his temp lock was a "final warning" so...

damn, I missed all that, guess i didnt see the staff or mod bashing.. friggin sucks hes gone he had great info on old armor and such.

I've figured out why RT makes me mad.

For some reason it doesn't bother me when someone tells me a really inventive and half-convincing lie. It's like 'Hey. You took some time and tried to mislead me.'

On the other hand: When someone just treats me to a handful of obtuse horshit that wouldn't deceive a third grader, it offends me. It's like a really backhanded way of insulting me. "You're dumb enough that this will work."

Well fuck you RT. I'm of completely average intelligence. I was tested in the third grade

Thank you. What little I know about arty I learned from your posts.

My "arty" experience peaked at dropping a few dozen 81mm down the pipe. We had several detonate (airburst) a few hundred meters above us (Vietnam era ammo with moisture in the fuse maybe) and one dud in the tube that required EOD. Kicking the tube was entertaining but did not get desired results.

It's a neat video showing how Russian drones are still a big threat.  I'd consider killing a crappy Orlan-10 to be worth more than a dozen T-tanks and some artillery.  I also wonder how their loitering munitions are brought to the target, how did it miss that much?   Was local Ukrainian units using some jamming to increase the CEP of the Russian munitions?

Edit, this is the longer video of the above, Russian drone watching the towed M777's before attacking.

If it makes you feel better, the Russians missed, even with the Grad strike afterwards.  Otherwise Russian drones would have filmed more and gladly would have shown the casualties.   There were none to be seen.   But it's a good cautionary tale to be wary of what might be following you.

And it's shows how the suicide drones Russia has may not be as accurate as they claim, thankfully.

The flip side is that killing an Orlan-10 doesn't take out the operator, but killing vehicles and arty does tend to take out their crews. Not even Russia can "train" up an artillery or tank crew in the 4-day orientation/basic/ass-raping they seem to be giving their latest conscripts, so the noobs are only fit to be used as crunchies.

Was wondering when they'd show up as they'd likely be better than MBTs and BMP-2/3s for finding and killing infantry.

Regarding Russians going back to the fight: I have read how troops who have refused to fight based upon being conscripts who can’t be compelled to engage in war in another country have refused to fight. They are fold they are told they  being moved and indeed are,to exactly where fighting is heaviest. Of course who knows the absolute veracity of this.

Maybe I was just uninformed or naive, but it has been an eye-opener as to how much of the Ukraine/Russia war has been fought off the battlefield via economic/financial embargoes and constraints as well as social media/press/public opinion.

Financially, Russia has screwed themselves as they are almost completely isolated.  Exports, imports, access to international funding, even access to their own overseas wealth have all been decimated.  And it will get worse before it might ever get better as alternate sources to Russian gas/fuel are put in place.

And social media?  The world turned against them so fast it made my head spin.  NATO expanding, the number of countries militarily supporting Ukraine and global distaste of anything Russia all happened so quickly.

If someone was keeping score at home---it would appear the Ukrainians are tied on the actual battlefield but pitching no-hitters on the public opinion and economic/financial fronts.

All of them, from the sounds of it. They made a deal for a prisoner exchange as a condition for the surrender.
