They just aint lanky enough spike should be close to the same height as jet. I would say spike from the cartoon is tall and lean, this remake not so much and that really kind of played into his fighting style. Faye also looks kind of squat in the remake as opposed to lanky and curvaceous, it's almost a crime to desexualize the femme fatale. Jet needs bigger arms. It probably is just that one pic, but his posture and those noodle arms make him look like a poor casting choice
The proportion of thigh meat to breast on Fay is also disappointing. Outfit isn't great but is better than I really expected these days. Had the two of them hit the gym for a couple of months while Spike was injured I'd have a little more faith in this. As it is now, it looks like a decent fan production put together by a midsized town's anime con staff rather than something with money and "real" actors. |

What’s next? Andy Dick as Vash from Trigun? I liked their Bleach movie, and I wasn’t a fan of the anime. Haven’t watched much of anything since the Adult Swim glory days, but this seems lame as shit cast wise. |

It's gonna suck like live adaptions always do.
You can't possibly capture the movement from anime with normal people, it's stylized for a reason. The probably can't ever find an actor that both looks like Spike and sounds like Steve Blum either. |

Even if it does not do the original justice, I imagine it's still going to be a decent show. I just can't see them screwing up the story that much, which is one of my favorite part of the series.
Curious how/if they're going to tackle stuff like the Mad Pierrot. |

And that one Highlander movie. And that one Matrix movie. Allegedly these aren't going to be remade episodes, but brand new ones. Which at least keeps it away from the original stuff. Though the only reason I would have tuned in was to watch Mushroom Samba or Pierrot Le Fou's ridiculous triple kick. Probably can't resist the soundtrack if Yoko Kanno is in though. |
