There are chips to make Dishy, they just sent them to Europe and not to us (who have been waiting). I think that is the beef.

48 I think. The 1.5's are heavier and they lose payload because of the southern trajectory and dogleg

What was the last estimated service availability in your area date they gave you?   Just trying to figure out if they're a head of their dates.

Until more satellites are in place there will be limits for subscribers in many areas.   Spain getting service should have zero impact to you.

We've been using a line of sight type internet service for about 10 years, 10 Mbps down and 2 up is the best it gets. At $87/mo
Even if the Starlink performs poorly, it will most likely blow me away.

LOL Tmobile has been promising me home internet for 5 years. Calls, emails, texts, letters in the mail, etc. telling me to sign up. Every time I go to sign up it says its not available. There is a 5g tower 1000 yds from my house, and I can't get their internet.

eta. Starlink is following through. Fuck T-Mobile

Don't wait. Call T-Mobile and ask them to send you a Gateway.  My address isn't approved on their website. But got one anyway.   There's no contract so you can cancel anytime if you don't have good service.

Just ran a speed test for this post. This isn't even 5G. Just 4G LTE.

Is there any kind of specification sheet that shows the hardware capabilities?

Does it require proprietary software?

Does Starlink share your device bandwidth at all? I'm trying to find out if this sort of issue is in store for users: https://20somethingfinance.com/how-to-opt-out-of-comcast-public-wifi-hotspot/

1.  I have no idea.

2.  It may have zero to do with you getting service.

3.  I don't care.

Bandwidth of the system and number of users in Spain appears to have zero to do with you getting service.   Antenna systems?  Maybe.  Get on twitter and ask Musk about it.

SpaceX Starlink Service Is Now Available In Slovakia & Czech Republic

"Most recently, SpaceX Starlink became available in more European countries. Starlink became available in Slovakia and Czech Republic, according to locals who signed up to receive updates about when service would be available in their area. SpaceX e-mailed potential Starlink customers living in the neighboring countries in Central Europe this week."

Must be nice, we preordered last Feb and still haven't seen anything.

Our only other option is Verizon hotspot, and that gives us a super fast .72 MBPS and that's a fast day.

I’ll buy your Starlink.

ETA: meh I should just wait until they nix the cells and have full marine mobile capabilities.  Leaving my current location in Washington for Alaska this spring and then Europe via the Panama Canal. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Elon so I can get on a list to beta test Starlink for crossing oceans?

Share device bandwidth? If you mean. Does it create a public hotspot... not that I know of. They aren't Verizon trying to please millions of cell phone users.... so they have no reason to. Also impossible to do, if your not using their router.

I still need more info to decide, but I have to wait anyhow. There won't be availability here for probably at least 6 months.

@RyanEsstac I'm talking about the practice of some providers to use the devices customers have in their homes as points where they can allow people to connect. So, as with Comcast for example, another customer of the same ISP can log in near your router and use the bandwidth also.

My pre-order is ready from April 2021, I'm in southern Nevada near Las Vegas.

I was hoping T-Mobile would have had 5G internet available but sill no ETA, so I guess I'll have to stick with Starlink.

I wouldn't have a clue?  It's all above my pay grade.

I'm just glad we have something that works. I was ~1.5 mbps before this gateway.

With the needs of the house and kids on their school computers. I'm happy.

How do you know that?

How much coverage do you have per day?  There may be a minimum before they provide service.

I got mine Thursday and got it running in 20 min or less.  Now it's fully mounted on the garage roof.  Except for the 2+ hour outage yesterday morning that made the news, it's been nearly flawless.  It's 15-35x as fast as my only other rural option.

My Ethernet adapter is backordered and supposed to ship by the 19th.
