My heart really belongs to the cast hull M4A1(76). Art deco-ish streamlining makes it look fast sitting still, oversized boom stick. Yeah they're tall, but fuck it.

Want to have fun sometime? Go to any Army post, they always have Soviet crap set up as displays at the museum and such. Tanks, artillery, trucks, really any example will do.
Inspect the various welds and straight edges with a ruler. |

Quoted: Tuco at gunboards was arranging a "group buy" on some t34/85's out of the Cheq Republic many years ago. Wonder if Tenn Guns was his connection? View Quote Not sure. I know the Russians offered a T34/85 to the guy that bought the /55. Offer was €80,000. He was dead set on the /55. Same guy has an 88mm Flak gun on the carriage. It came from Ukraine. Forget what the cost of it was. |

M51 Sherman best Sherman. That would have given the M-4 equal firepower to the Tiger/Panther.
BTW, the Wehrmacht saying, "When a T-34 meets a Tiger, the T-34 tips its hat" meant that the turret pops off. |
|
Iconic looking? I would say definitively yes!
Beautiful? Sorry, I can't go that far. |
|
I always thought Panther was the best looking tank ever made.

[Alan Jackson- Pop a Top Again]
Pop a top, again Then we can fire another round Brew it up, my friends Soon we’ll be gone And then we’ll wait for some other fool come ‘round We’re sittin’ here and waitin’ for Some Russian tanks today To come round the bend and two by two We’ll blow them all away We’re getting’ bored, more tea was poured And then we heard a clank Opened up the case and we tracked some tanks And we gave St. Javelin thanks Pop a top, again Then we can fire another round Brew it up, my friends Soon we’ll be gone And then we’ll wait for some other fool come ‘round Come on in you Russian punks It’s time to stand and play Only problem is, come past today This’ where you’ll always lay If you go and leave your stuff We’ll sure police it up But if you want to fight, not stay alive We’re sure to light you up! Pop a top, again Then we can fire another round Brew it up, my friends Soon we’ll be gone And then we’ll wait for some other fool come ‘round. |

Like a lot of Soviet designed stuff, it looks cool
It's actual function can be debatable at best, however. |

I had to jump a Dragon a few times. God I hated that fucking thing. |

A tank, like a submarine, is the best place to be.
Until it isn't. |

I always wanted to try this in a Abram’s Tank. Doing it while drinking Wodka, even better.
Russian Soldiers roll tank when attempting to drift |
|
So, when that tank turret goes airborne, what happens to the occupants? It has to get messy in there.

Sleek. Elegant. Compact, yeah, as seen in the gun site of an Abrams.

The M1A1 is a beautiful girl in any way you look at her.
The driver’s hole is roomy, comfortable, and the most stable place on the tank. Lots of storage room and the heater will roast your left shoulder until it stops working, about 5 minutes max… The turret is a complete basket, almost free of danger. You could have a party in the loader’s station, though the gunner’s station is a bit cramped when you are 6’2”. And your upstairs neighbor likes to dance and kicks you in the back and the back of the head from time. Full beauty at its finest. |

I have never put "beautiful" and "Tank" in the same sentence before.

I'll wait for one of Keith Laumer's Bolos or one of these loaded with gold bars.

Quoted: Anyone remember the Pontiac Fiero? I never owned one, never drove one, never rode in one, but I remember friends having them back in the day. They looked all sporty, a little like the Ferrari of the day. So, people would call them a sports car... and they might have been a good sports care if your sport was bird watching, or maybe orienteering. Goes so slow you can get a good look at the wildlife and you had better be prepared for a hike when the thing broke down. But, it did have the right look, sort of. Problem is, when you learned about the Fiero that look got associated with crap and it never looked good to you again. Russian tanks are sort of like that. Yea, they look really awesome when you don't know anything about tanks, when you do that whole shape just spells "shit tank." View Quote Fieros were also famous for going up in flames when being driven down the highway. I personally watched three of them burn back in the day. So yeah, just like Russian tanks |
