It didn’t matter; smaller tribes or white people, everyone was fair game to us. The Ojibway ran us out of Minnesota so we went west, and when we got horses we invaded the northern Plains, taking what we wanted while assimilating or eliminating smaller tribes & settlements, like The Borg in braids & buckskins. The Ojibway musta been a bad ass tribe. Haven’t heard anything about them. Did the Sioux get their revenge after they mastered horse warfare? No, unless you count small battles where the Sioux greatly outnumbered a couple of Chippewa or the Sioux did surprise attacks on them right after negotiating peace treaties with them. There is still some bad feelings between the two today. I've had more than one Sioux tell me to never trust a Chippewa. |
