I have an SDR that has just sat for a year. I was hoping I could get my son interested, no luck.

I understand triangulation in general, but how do I do it with 2+ laptop/SDR rigs?

What would be the simplest method of recording opposition comms, editing down to soundbites w/their voices/callsigns, and rebroadcasting on something like FRS or Baofang? Things like calls for backup or medic to a location from other days?
View Quote

It's very difficult to do triangulation with an omnidirectional antenna. There are units that use 4 of them to get a fairly decent bearing on where the signal is coming from but range is still iffy. Typically if you have decent bearing to target from at least 3 dispersed geographic locations (4 or more would be better), then you can, in theory, get a fairly accurate location on who is broadcasting.

There are SDR units like this one:
Amazon Product
  • ???Exquisite and sturdy aluminum casing, has a long service life. Frequency continuous coverage from 10KHz to 2GHz. 12-bit ADC chip (not the kind of RTL chip).
  • ???Built-in front end filter. Built-in TCXO (temperature-compensated crystal oscillator) 0.5ppm. Spectrum bandwidth of up to 10MHz. Higher sensitivity and fine selectivity.
  • ???More often low background noise. Simple USB interface (micor jack), SMA antenna connector. USB power supply, does not have a separate power supply. Compatible with all SDRPlay RSP1 software.

that are inexpensive, have a wide range of band coverage, and are compatible with a number of SDR software suites. Some of them can pipe transmissions to a file for later analysis/editing.

If you think the oppositions comms are being made with GMRS/FRS, MURS, or the ham bands, then you could use the SDR to figure out which bands are in use and tell your team what freqs they are using. And, your trusty Baofeng could be programmed (painfully) using the keypad to tap in to their comms.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time I decided I wanted to move on a Saturday? Called and set up an interview on Monday for Wednesday morning. Called a realtor about renting out my house.  Got the job on Wednesday and went house hunting. Third house I looked at I loved. Gated community (with HOA, lol) private pool, club house, dock on the intercoastal waterway and cabana. Talked to the HOA president that day, signed a lease w/ option to buy agreement with the realtor. Drove back home and started packing. Movers came on Friday. I was moved in by Sunday morning and swimming in the new pool.  Started my new job Monday morning.

When do you want me in TX?

Speaking of TV, Trump needs to get his ass on primetime and address the country about this blatant election fraud and abuse going on in this country. The fake news media won't report on actual news like the violence in the PNW, or the election fraud, or Cuomo assaulting his staff and killing the elderly in nursing homes.

Me either.

But the left's motto is "we are not letting you go back to your old life" and we have both current and past examples of what happens when an ideology based on "fairness" and "equal outcomes" turns out.
Cuba and Venezuela are good examples.

Telegram and Signal are the two most popular but they rely on cell service for real-time comms. Protonmail for e-mail is another popular route but does rely on the internet.

HF radio doesn't rely on cell infrastructure. Further, if you happen to be in an area that is experiencing a cell/internet disruption, you can use HF radio to contact a remote mailserver using a program called Winlink. I used it extensively when I got sent to Puerto Rico to do emergency comms after Hurricane Maria knocked out virtually all communications on the island.

Not really. SCOTUS could rule at any time up till Jan 20th that some/all of the electors were selected on the basis of fraudulent votes and toss them. That would invalidate the EC vote until the situation could be rectified. Also, Trump still has the 2018 EO on election interference and the Insurrection Act he can invoke to deal with the treasonous f*cks that committed fraud and/or took money from the Chicoms.

I don't really have that problem since I got my official, issued by the State of Texas, Native Texan Birth Certificate.

No, really, it's a thing. Expensive thing, but a real thing and it's a real birth certificate signed by the Governor (in my case, it was Rick Perry when he was Governor).
