@m35ben   bet you have some?
I'm not sure what those are.

Kind of a specialized pair of channellocks, with the jaws being curved to fit around the outside of the canon plug and with rubber pads to prevent damage to the canon plug.

I've always just used channellocks, and based on the marks I've seen, I'm clearly not the only one doing that.

ETA: Looks like it.

ETA2: Here's German made set.  I've been impressed with the few Knipex pliers I have owned.

I am shocked.  I just assumed your tools included the entire catalog.    They're just slip joint pliers with rubber/plastic jaws, supposedly purpose built for cannon plugs on aircraft, but my purpose is for stubborn muzzle brakes.

If I was shopping for a pair, and imported was the only option, I wouldn't have a problem (except maybe price) with buying Knipex brand.  I've got a pair of their cutters, that was recommended by the tool truck guy when I needed to cut a bunch of #8 stainless machine screws in tight locations (Baron windshield installation). They more than paid for themselves and are still going, over a decade later.

Now that I've learned that the Proto is US-made, and half the price of the Knipex -- for something I'm going to use like 4x / year for the next 30-years, God willing -- I'm not sure I'll notice the difference in quality. (?)

My experience with Proto is very limited, but my impression has been 'good quality, but may not feel as nice in your hands as some other brands'.  For using them a few times a year, I doubt you'd want to spend the difference in price, just for a little better 'feel'.

thanks for the offer, I saw that Knipex makes jaw covers for theirs ($12),

but wasn't sure they'd fit well on my channel lock (brand) channel locks, so I just fo'd on the PROTO for $29 otd w/Prime

I can't remember the brand we used in the Navy, but there were several types. Some with plastic jaws; others with rubber or foam jaws.

I'm looking for mine to see the brand, we used the foam jaw for military electrical connectors on the Phalanx EO stabilizer.

I can't find any images of the ones with the green foam pads, but Blue Point Tools and MILBAR seem to be several of the issued plier types.

These are the people who are teaching/influencing young adults...

Carl Hart is a Columbia University professor of psychology and neuroscience. He chairs the psych department and has a fondness for heroin – not only as a subject of scholarly pursuit but also as a substance for personal use.

At 54, the married father of three has snorted small amounts of heroin for as many as 10 days in a row and enjoyed it mightily – even if, as he recalls in his new book “Drug Use for Grown-ups: Chasing Liberty in the Land of Fear” (Penguin Press), he’s experienced mild withdrawal symptoms “12 to 16 hours after the last dose.”

But, as Hart sees it, the discomfort is a worthwhile trade-off.

“There aren’t many things in life that I enjoy more than a few lines by the fireplace at the end of the day,” he writes, pointing out that the experience leaves him “refreshed” and “prepared to face another day.
