And this is why businesses decide it just isn't worth having a store in certain locations.  Not racism, not white supremacy, just a simple evaluation of the risk of losing money.

Things are getting spicy in Iran over "Morality Police". That's one thing I'm 100% intolerant of should it appear in the USA. (Dearborn MI and Minneapolis MN are where it'll likely make its first appearance)

https://legalinsurrection.com/2022/09/iran-violently-suppresses-protests-over-death-of-woman-arrested-by-morality-police-for-failing-to-wear-hijab/

The death toll in Iran is rising as Tehran brings in the Islamic Guard (IRGC) militia to quell anti-regime protests. After eight straight days of protests, the number of deaths have risen to 35, the UK newspaper Guardian reported Saturday.

The nationwide unrest is biggest challenge to the Shia-Islamic regime in recent years. “Anti-government protesters and security forces have clashed in several major cities in the most severe political violence since 2019,” The Associated Press noted.

The protests were triggered after last week’s custodial death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman held by Iran’s Islamic morality police for violating country’s Sharia-mandated dress code.

What began as an anti-hijab protest by Iranian women, with many of them publicly burning Islamic headscarf, turned into an anti-regime protest hit cities across Iran. Video clips circulating on social media show Iranians chanting “Khamenei is a murderer” and “Death to the dictator.”

Protestors also turned their anger of symbols and icons belonging to the Shia-Islamic regime, burning portraits of Qaseem Soleimani, the senior Iranian terror operative who was killed in a drone strike ordered by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

People “tore and burned posters of Qaseem Soleimani —the Revolutionary Guard commander who was killed in a US drone strike in January 2020— in his hometown Kerman,” the Indian weekly Outlook reported Saturday.

“In another video, protesters can be seen torching a massive billboard showing Qassem Soleimani,” the Voice of America noted.

As protests hit cities across Iran, the regime is deploying militia belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

“Iranian security forces, including the pro-government Basij militia, are trying to quell growing nationwide protests,” the Reuters confirmed. The IRGC-Basij “shock troops which have been at the forefront of repressing popular unrest,” the news agency added.

Commission a study.
Find a way to fund it.
Debate it.
Approve the plan.

and then

Poof! Shit happens.

How could it be any more complicated than that?

ETA:  It's like how stores make food or wall sockets make electricity.  Poof! and there it is.

That moron has never once had an original idea or produced anything of value.  He plagiarized his way through college and law school, then went straight into elected office where he has had a staff to do all the work and tell him the answers.  Waste of oxygen.

she has been out of the Hospital for 3 weeks now and is doing much better

I was concerned in the beginning because she had to use a walker to get around but is now able to walk with out it

her wounds have heeled really good and the hole where the drainage was is completely closed now as well

next week we are going on a little trip for 4 days - driving to a small town called Bad Lauterberg - a part of Germany called the Harz

we are going to make a trip to the Brocken and will do a few other things in the Area

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Brocken/@51.7994566,10.5476653,13z/data=

by the time I am heading back to the US she will be in good shape

thanks for asking

Iran not being unneighborly today.  Missiles and drones.

Two dead in Iran strikes on Iraqi Kurdistan: Iran Kurd rebels

IRBIL, Iraq: Two people were killed in Iranian cross-border strikes Wednesday against military bases in Iraqi Kurdistan belonging to the Kurdish Democratic Party of Iran, the KDPI said.
“The forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran attacked the bases and headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran with missiles and drones” in Koysinjaq, east of Irbil, the KDPI, which operates rear bases in Iraqi Kurdistan, announced in a statement.
“Two people have been killed, while several peshmergas have been wounded,” it added, referring to fighters.
Iranian artillery fire has hit border districts of Iraqi Kurdistan on several occasions in recent days.
The fire comes amid tensions generated by the death in Iranian morality police custody of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini earlier this month after she was arrested in Tehran for allegedly breaching the Islamic republic’s strict rules on hijab headscarves and modest clothing.
Protests have swept Iran, prompting a domestic crackdown that has killed at least 76 people, according to the Oslo-based group Iran Human Rights.
Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency has put the protest toll at “around 60,” inclusive of several members of the Iranian security forces.
Kurdish communities in western Iran share strong connections with Kurdish-inhabited areas of Iraq.
Many cross the border into Iraq to find work, due to a biting economic crisis in Iran driven in large part by US sanctions.

We are working in some of the villages in the area relatively close to where these attacks took place. Our teams are safe but we are taking extra measures to safeguard our people.

Iran is feeling a lot of pressure at the moment. There is more momentum in these protests than in the past. There is a pretty high chance that Iran will lash out even more. These attacks inside of the Kurdish region are fairly unprecedented so we are preparing for more.

Thankfully we have a very high level of trust built with the locals here. Interesting times for sure.

BLM and the usual suspects from Dallas showed up there to march and protest after the shooting.  The locals told them to get lost.  There has been almost no publicity about the trial or the outcome.  I doubt it goes much further.

Having only watched it once, I'm not quite sure what to make of that, apart from it didn't need to happen.  The guy was obviously drunk and in the driver's set of a car.  Seems they should have arrested him for DUI and towed the damn thing, instead of letting him get back in the car after he told them he had a weapon in there.

Anybody that took an economics class can see where this is going.  There have even been past examples in the news, showing what happens when government starts putting an upper limit on the price of a consumable good.

Newsom is also putting an upper limit on rap lyrics

Seriously, though - just like the Nixon price freeze of 1971, fixing fuel prices would certainly be an economic failure, but it would probably be a political success. And that's all that Newsom cares about.
