My AR. And also my bolt action. Oh...and my shotgun (yeah I know, not a rifle). I can hold one in my hands and just hang the other two on my back. And when I want to switch, just grab one from my back and the one in my hands will magically be on my back.
I've seen it in video games thousands of times. Totally legit. And I think I can probably get a bat with nails in it, and maybe a chainsaw...and an axe. |

Whatever one I pick up from the first dead body until I can get to the second dead body with a better rifle. How's that for answer. I mean, you said it was SHTF. I might even make a collection out of them during that time and pass them around to like minded folks.

You can remove a bolt with a socket, or wrench, vice-grip, or even pliers. Just depends on the situation.
Even with that in mind, my choice would more than likely be my 10.5" AR pistol. It's just incredibly handy - short, light, red dot and magnifier, plus it has the Echo trigger - always a crowd-pleaser. BTW, those are not cans, I'm waiting for the YHM can to be in stock, so those are on for now.
