I have a friend that has been diagnosed as a sex addict. When he was at his worst he would literally hit on every Asian girl he could, and would interpret anything as flirting. It was unreal. I think at one point he had 4 girlfriends too. I wonder if chicks at Sex Addicts Anonymous meetings are totally down to fuck in the parking lot. When I worked at bars I had a lot of friends and coworkers bang many a skank, this was something completely different. |

"Sex addiction" is a disease inasmuch as "lack of self-control" is a disease.
So the answer is "no". |

A sex addict’s service animal is a sheep. A purdy little bopeep with big eyes and soft curly hair and a tight little mouse.

We are programed to enjoy sex if you let any one thing rule your life your an addict.

It’s a terrible disease. I’ve had it since I was 14 or so, and hope to continue suffering from the affliction until I’m about 80, at which time I will die happily of a heart attack under two blonde 20-something escorts.
Eta: I guess the best serious answer I can give is “maybe”. Addiction is not simply liking something a lot; It’s liking something a lot (or maybe even not liking it that much) and continuing to do it even though you know it will have significant negative effects in your life. It depends on the individual circumstances. |

Slippery slope with this whole "addict" stuff. Literally anyone could be an addict to anything.
Some people like to buy ammo everyday, are they an addict? Some people like to fuck everyday, its human nature. |

A disease is: an abnormal condition that negatively affects a part or all of an organism, and that is not due to any external injury.
So, yeah, if someone is mentally addicted to sex, then it would qualify as a disease, much like drug addiction does. Being crazy is a disease. |

Lots of things can be an addiction if you're wired that way.

If you know something is wrong and it is effecting you negatively and you do it anyway, you are not normal. If you do continually something that negatively effects the people you truly love, you are not normal. Is that a disease? Possibly. You certainly aren't normal mentally. You guys who are just saying "don't do it" are normal. You can't understand it because you don't have that problem because you are normal. It isn't normal. |

It's a disease. You need sexual healing. View Quote She would be content with once a week whereas I am once a day. We sat down one time and had a long discussion about this and when I finished explaining my needs our frequency increased to almost daily In fact, when we got up at 0530 she said how about we go back to bed after the oldest leaves for school. We'll have about 30 minutes If I'm lucky we will fool around again tonight when I get home from Boy Scouts |

I'm tired of banging all these supermodels honestly. Its not like I have a choice I have two diseases, amazing god level genetics combined with sexual addiction. I think I found a miracle cure though.

Anything that provides a natural (or unnatural) high can be addictive to a person that does not posses the self-discipline to moderate the behavior.
It's a bullshit excuse for the guy or gal that gets caught with their pants down or ruins their life because they can't stop chasing the high. It's no more a disease than the fact that my love of potatoes in fried form makes me fat. Sex feels great. Sex with someone new is exciting and feels good. Very easy to ruin your life chasing that if you allow yourself to indulge in it inappropriately. |

some employers might go light on someone who agrees to seek help, but in the #metoo era, I'm thinking sex addiction is not going to be so easily forgiven. View Quote As a minimum it should have tasteful decor, quiet surroundings, appropriate imagery, and individual privacy should be available if desired, if not a group facility shouod be provided. Seek out some kind of government assistance with establishing such a facility. Be a pioneer. |

Is Sex Addiction a real disease? Does it require a real doctor to diagnose it or can someone just say "I really like sex a lot and can't stop myself from trying to get laid or jerk it"? And if so, does it fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act? Like could it protect someone who was caught masturbating in his office this morning and might be fired after meeting with HR tomorrow afternoon? Like could our hypothetical hero just say "can't fire me, got a disease"? or if he gets fired could he sue for a bunch of money? Asking for a friend. View Quote |
