The original comic they didn't have a nose did they? Why do skinny jeans wearing emo directors think they always have a better design than a comic's entire history?

It's a fucking TMNT movie, you expected it to be good?

Oh please....

If you have seen all the cartoons and movies then that review just proves it is going to be exactly what the entire franchise has been for decades....

My 4 year old watches every dam tmnt DVD I can buy. And we will be going to the movie next week and I fully expected what was described.

How many times do people complain that the new movie was not keeping to the original theme of the a certain series. And now one does and people are bitching about that? Holy double standards bat man!

After seeing the trailers.... Not surprised to see the rest of the movie is garbage too.

I was surprised when I heard of this one coming out.  After all, wasn't there a TMNT movie in 2007?

I didn't see the 2007 version and I probably won't be seeing this one(not that I really have time nowadays to go to movies.)

I'm torn about how to respond to people that say that this version is like "raping their childhood."  It's not going to be anything like what you remember, because everyone is different.  But then again, I'm sure someone is working on a way to turn the Power Rangers(yes, people, I watched the Power Rangers), into a bad CGI shitfest, like they did with fucking Garfield.

So in other words... it was TMNT?

Read two reviews about a week ago.  Both reviews were in agreement that one of the good things about the movie was that Megan Fox was pretty good in it.

When the most positive thing you can say about a movie is that Megan Fox did a good job in it then you know your movie is in trouble.

It's funny how all of the originals with 1980s tech were 100 times better (TMNT being in the 90s) and they've thrown 100s of millions at these things. All I'm waiting for now to complete the rape of my childhood favorites is for them to somehow manage to destroy Robotech.

The only thing that Michael Bay got right for the Transformers CGI explosion fuckfest was that he got Peter Cullen, the original voice actor for Optimus Prime, to reprise his role as the robotic guardian of freedom, justice, and Decepticon curb-stomping.

I wouldn't have mind the reboot if they were going to TMNT original comic book status (dark) other than that whats the point. And why cant noone of the movies cast a hot April O'Neil Megan Fox was the hottest and that's not saying much

This reboot is the worst kind of cash grab. A studio saw a brand name they could exploit for name recognition and (fingers crossed) nostalgia, put together a script completely devoid of any kind of emotion or creativity, and is now hoping that you’ll ignore all of that because of CGI explosions and identifiable pop-culture characters. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is entirely hollow, poorly put together, and will require an audience on its level of stupidity to survive. Don’t be one of its supporters.

That pretty much sums up every Michael Bay movie ever. I hate that fucker.

I LOVE the old school Indie comic Turtles. It was some good stuff.

Around 2003ish they made a cartoon where they had the cartoon reboot turtles, meet their old late 80s cartoon counter parts through a dimensional rift, and they traveled to another dimension where the world was drawn like the old black and white comics, complete with narration.

Yep. Did it right 24 years ago....saw it in theaters. It was literally like the Second Coming for young fellows in those days.

It had foot clan getting stabbed
It had Raphael shouting "DAAAMN!"
And the immortal line "Ninja kick the damn rabbit!"

There was simply nothing more you could add.  It was just...amazing.

The main issue is that they are re-doing a classic that has a cult following.  If you are going to do that, you have to realize that your audience has very high expectations as they draw their expectations from when they were little kids... and when you were little... any of these movies were awesome and you really play it up.

If the original came out today, it probably wouldn't even hit the theaters and cut straight to dvd lifetime movie networks

It would be nice if the takeaway from this would be to listen to the fans, and don't repeat this mistake by casting Ben Affleck as Batman.  Unfortunately it won't make any difference in the world.

Oh well, maybe the 2006 cartoon series will come back to DVD.
