We'll know which states are red, blue, and battleground after the election. Anyone claiming to know for certain how a state will fare on election night is full of it.
As Dance said, the urban/suburban ratio is what matters, way more so than whether a state is chock full of liberals or conservatives (it's just not that simple anymore). |

Here is a map of how TX voted in the 2016 election. For the most part it was the city rats that voted for Hilary. Even so, having spent most of my life in Texas I never thought that I would see this much blue here.
