All my picks aren't slouches by any means, but they're fun to drive:
1. Superformance GT40 mk1 - $250,000 2. Honda S2000 CR - We'll say $50,000 after tinkering 3. Ferrari F355 Spider with gated 6 spd ~ $100,000 4. Porsche 911 GT2 (996) ~ $250,000 I'd daily something comfortable, but unassuming: 10 year old Lexus LX 570 would be just fine ~ $30,000 Wife: 1. Lexus GX daily - $60,000 2. Lexus IS 500 F Sport, because she likes to go fast sometimes too - $60,000 That leaves $200,000 for my 3 kids to have rides. They'd probably get used 4runners, highlanders, or Lexus SUVs. (Can you tell I like Toyota and Lexus yet?) I'd also have some left for a SxS. |

A Polaris Indy Adventure snowmobile with a snowcoach and a nice snowmobile trailer. Perhaps an ATV. Done and done. The rest gets spent on the garage, storage and tools. Probably american muscle heavy.
93 Cobra R 95 Cobra R 00 Cobra R Restomod track prepped 65/67/69 Mustangs with various built small block fords. 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca and maybe factory 350 racer. Would love a Viper ACR but would start to eat into things where rest of money could fill out garage with CNC machines and other tools. |
|
My wife likes Volvo SUV's so probably the same 2024 xc60 she drives now $60,000
I drive a F250 so another $70,000 911 Targa 4s . Call it $200,000 Audi R8 convertible another $200,000 Hellcat $80,000 Shelby gt500 $80,000 Corvette $80,000 all 2023/24 Spend the rest on a decent 427 Cobra Maybe get a new side by side as well |

Brand new Miata for daily driver duty
GT3 RS for weekends GMC 2500 for the wife The rest is getting put away for maintenance costs. |

I would upgrade my road bike, mountain bike and gravel bike.
Guess I would get an Ineos Grenadier. Maybe buy a new SUV, to a Defender. Would have way over 700k left, I think. Not a car person, still have my 2005 Xterra. Wife is the car lover, she has 3. Mercedes, BMW and a Maserati. |

Quoted: You have 1 million dollars to fill a garage of any size. (if it needs to be a 50 car garage....go for it....) The only rules are...you are happily married and you have a kid or two. So, some choices need to take that into account. (your wife needs a car or more...and you need some kind of "room for the kid or two" ride). There is no need to get philosiphical or virtue signal. You have given to all the causes and have saved all the money. If you would "never, no matter what...." spend "that kind of money" on "such and such thing..." Ok...this thread is not for you. This is a car guy thread. You have $1,000,000 to fill your garage. (hell, you have two vacation homes and like to keep a spare car where you hangar your plane....whatever, the budget is 1 million bucks). It isnt for life. This is just your lifestyle. In 5 years, some of the cars will change. You dont have to keep these cars forever. This is just a "if you were a deca-millionaire and liked cars, what would be in your life today, and would add up to about a million bucks. What is in that garage? (in your life) and briefly, why? Go.... View Quote I've always wanted a 911 so something like a GT3. I think I could get in stupid amounts of trouble w/ a Tesla Plaid. I like watching Matt's Offroad Recovery on Youtube and I think a Banana clone would make a fun off road vehicle. Add a motorcycle or two, a decent 4x4 truck for hauling things. That would be a good start. |
|
I would buy the following
1985-1990 Land Rover Defender 110 An overland ready Unimog Camper Honda 250L All for myself My woman would get The GR86 TRUENO Edition she’s been coveting A Civic Type R for her daily And some sort of 4x4 van for the family The rest would be spent an under garage doomsday bunker and all the amenities needed |

I’d get my wife the Toyota Sienna of her dreams- no kidding, she loves minivans.
Me, I’d have something fun since I don’t do much daily driving. Something like a Porsche 911 Carrera S. I’d also have workbenches, tooling and a kit aircraft of some kind. Nice air compressor setup, space for jigs, etc. |

I’m still working (wife isn’t, helps a little) with younger kids, I could see it being a hobby once I retire in 20 years. But upkeep is kind of a pain in the ass to be honest. Although I also have upkeep on mowers/tractors/power yard tools. I dropped down to 5 vehicles recently. We only drive 3 of them frequently, but pay insurance on all 6. I’m trying to get the wife to partially daily drive a Raptor R so I can replace her 2020 Armada and the 2015 Tundra consolidating down to 4 vehicles, but she refuses to. |

View Quote Lucky on the shop…I have the garage space, but haven’t done a 4 post lift yet, use the QuickJacks for track maintenance on the 911 (brakes/tires) I have a 15yr old that’s going to be adding another car, and a 12 yr old not too far behind, so we’ll be 7. You’re crazy! Lol Even doing new wiper blades every year on every car annoys me All ours are newer, and suck to work on. The 911 just had plugs done at 10K miles - Porsche drops the entire damn engine. I don’t have time for that shit anymore Kudos to your patience |

Easy, a 911 for me and a Cayenne for the wife. A 1LE ZL1 and a Raptor for shits and giggles.
And a full Laeger Pro-Trax 250R |

Race cars.
A nice RaceTech dragster for brackets or Top Dragster. A Top Sportsman car. Super Gas car. Stocker. Super Stocker. And a nice rig to drag around whatever I was racing that week. No Hemi cars. One of those could use up an easy couple of 100K alone. |

Wife's car: Mercedes SUV
Summertime daily for me: Porsche 911 GTS 1969 F150 on a crown vic chassis BMW M5 competition Finish my Jeep J10 project. Ice racing car. Maybe on old Audi Now it starts getting weird. I like my F10 series BMW 5ers. F10 535 rally car. F10 street racing car. Caged, LS swapped, turboed and nitrous. Blacked out street outlaws style. F10 535 road course car. Ferrari Mondial. Caged and raced in 24 hours of Lemons. |

There are few cars I desire.
442 Or Hearst Olds Cutlass Buick GNX Buick Regal TourX or Cadillac CTS V Wagon Because wagons > CUV Maybe something T-topish 911 Targa |

Bump to keep it alive cuz Barrett-Jackson is in a couple weeks

When I was a kid I drooled over a Viper GTS coupe. It's probably not a great car for me, but I'd at least like to drive one to see if I want to own one. I am too big for some smaller sports cars to be comfortable.

Landrover Defender 110 Crew Cab and Extreme Offroad Trailer/Camper fully kitted out and the rest in tools, spare parts and diesel.

1 million would make a very sweet car collection for me, because I really only like a few specific cars.
1. Lincoln Navigator L I already have for the wife...so if I had to rebuy it, maybe $40,000 2. Need a truck, so the 2018 F 150 I already have $25,000 3. Keep the Focus ST $15,000 4. I always wanted a 3000GT VR4 5. Jaguar XKR-S 100 6. 2006 Viper GTS 7. Lotus Esprit V8 turbo 8. F430 manual 9. 2005 Ford GT 10 fuckin slammed 66 conti convertable with a super charged coyote. 11. That fucking bad ass Corvette with the flatplane when it comes out... If I can find a GT for $350,000 id be under a mil I can currently fit 7 cars in my garage if I really wanted to pack it in there. but I can just add one with some 4 post lifts for more car storage...I could easilty fit 6 more in the rear by doing that. almost forgot AMG GT-C |
|
Wish my garage was big enough for a 2-post lift.
Already got a 911 in there, but for a $million I’d have a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Ferrari F430 (last of the manual transmissions) The remaining cash will help keep those cars running for a few years. Some of these cool cars you have to be extremely brave (or stupid) to attempt to own. |
|
The doors for my garage are too low to get my old F150 in. So maybe have to hire an engineering firm to Jack up the woodwork shop on the floor above it and convert to a single roll up door, not two
Probably cheaper to just build a new metal building garage, but the property is very hilly and I don’t want that in the yard in front of the house If there’s enough left over, get a new F150 supercab with 8’ bed. Then maybe a Miller tig welder, a lathe and mill- nothing real big, it’s still limited in space - roughly 30x30 A new engine for the boat. 25 HP is fine. And if there’s enough left over, a mustang with the coyote engine, manual transmission- I know the ones 2018 and on at least were chicom transmissions. Maybe the older ones were US made - if they were that’s what I want. |
|
I must be getting old I have no desire for a fancy sports car. The thought of getting in and out of a Lambo makes my joints hurt. 'll take a heated shop with roll up doors on each end so I can pull straight through, an F350 Dually and a Lance cab over camper. I'll keep my current Duckworth boat hooked up to it. Now I can travel and fish in style. Then a Range Rover for a daily driver.
