Interesting. I don’t think I’ve even seen that one here….an hour from the distillery. Maybe I just never noticed it.

Good luck.  107 is practically the perfect every day pour.  Finally had some earlier this year.  It is literally unobtainum in AZ.  My buddy did get a bottle finally here, but it is hard to repeat that.  You have a better chance of getting GTS here than 107.  On that note i came about 15 min from getting a bottle of CYPB today.. mountain town liquor store got one.. it got gone between me hearing about it and getting to the store 25 min away.

Jan's Wine and Liquor in Crossville had some a month or so ago. It was 20 or 30 bucks over $100 a bottle so I left it there. Out of my "try something new" price range.

It's cocktail level to me.  Good in an OF, but I didn't find anything great about it to drink neat again.

Weller special reserve is the drink of the evening. Three cubes in a 10 oz rocks glass, (it's very swarmy here, otherwise it would be two), then 3/4 fill with the Weller. Sweet carmely flavor? Excellent.

Guilty. I like my bourbon on ice

In fact…sipping some Buffalo trace right now at home while that mass of people downtown take cover for lightening…waiting on fireworks. I’d rather be sipping this.

I've been drinking Bourbon since long before it was cool. I drink it all sorts of ways depending on lots of factors.

If I was drinking Kentucky Spirit it would be neat regardless of the weather.

But when it is hot as eight shades of hell and I've been dripping sweat all day a nice cold glass of bourbon with some ice is a mighty fine drink.

And nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

Serious question, missing out on what? Not trying to be argumentative but, it's a rookie move. It completely ruins the profile of good bourbon. Master distillers work hard to create bourbon profiles so that people can enjoy it on it's own merit.

Don’t get me wrong, I know the enthusiast that wants to play weekend connoisseur only wants to drink his whisky neat out of a glencairn but honestly. Sometimes you want some ice, helps mellow it out and makes it refreshing. If I’m drinking a 100-200 dollar bottle, I’ll usually enjoy it neat. But if I’m drinking a 20-40 dollar bottle, I have no shame throwing some cubes in the glass to take the harshness out some of the affordable bottles. There’s more than one way to enjoy a drink and it’s that persons money, so who cares.

My friends will do shots of 250 dollar cognac and I’ve even seen them mix it with coke. I personally wouldn’t mix a Martel xo in coke but if that’s how they want to do it. Not my problem.

I’m currently drinking bourbon with Milo’s lemonade. I saw a few recipes with lemon and simple syrup and figured this would easier.

Mixture is 2 oz Basil Hayden and 6 oz lemonade.

Rookie move? lol, I’ve been enjoying good Bourbon most of my adult life and I’m in my 60s now. Have you never enjoyed a mixed drink made with bourbon? If not, you are missing out imo. Bourbon doesn’t HAVE to be neat to be enjoyed. Sure, if you are drinking tier one stuff and you want the full flavor neat is the way to go. As a matter of fact, cask strength neat is my preference in that case. I want it before the distiller/bottler has added any water to it. You know they do that, right? I have to assume that you consider anything less than cask strength has been ruined?

Yea that's how they do their store pick type deals with the metal hanger badge. OH liquor control did a pick like that a few months ago of the single barrel rye that I picked up and it's pretty nice.
