Fucking hilarious - never bothered to figure out why it costs so much for college?  Institutions owned and run by the left are bleeding them dry, and they want to drop to their knees and suck harder?  The problem is the inability to think critically to figure out solutions, as well as flat-out stupidity;  unfortunately, the smart ones are a minority.

Did a condo renovation for a professor of cognitive psychology, the guy is pulling close to $300,000 a year…

You’re stretching the definition of voluntary when schools, parents, and society is pressuring dumb 16-17 year olds to make financial decisions that they’ll be paying off for the next decade plus. Most adults can’t balance a checkbook. I can hardly blame teenagers for the same.

The people who signed for the loan are the ones on the hook to pay it back.

Again, we eschew responsibility. I knew enough at 15 to understand that college is simply a qualification/accreditation service.

I’m  center left, but I know some quite hardcore lefties.

They grew up with Bush 2 and the ME wars. They saw 2008 and the free check written too big banks while average Americans were left out to hang. Most of them are deep in student loan debt, cannot even dream of buying a place of their own, and even with big paychecks can’t seem to get ahead. Universal to everyone I know my age, even the more libertarian types, they all despise Trump and see him emblematic of all the above.

It’s a childish ideology of “give me what I want and shield me from the consequences “.  Why wouldn’t children like it?  Add in the total abdication of responsibility by parents who should have taught their kids to know better and you have our current mess.

It's a little more complex than that.

It IS a childish ideology.

It's sort of like when my 5 year old son saw a homeless person panhandling - "We should help him" was his initial response.

That's because 5 year olds - and 20 year olds - don't understand moral hazards and don't bear any of the cost of "helping", so "helping" validates their altruistic impulses while they are shielded / insulated from bearing any of the cost.

It's actually pretty rational in the limited context where the positions are taken, which is steeped in ignorance of greater consequences.

What's the inevitable result of giving poor single mothers free money and not lower income nuclear families free money?  You destroy the lower income nuclear family.

What's the inevitable result of giving illegal aliens that are already here, amnesty?  You encourage more illegal immigration, since if you gave amnesty once, you'll do it again.

Bullshit you think the people that are young enough to be considered young today saw all that shit? No. I'm 30, I was in 4th grade when I saw the towers fall. I didn't understand that it wasn't an accident at that point but when I did I was all for fucking up some cave dwellers. And I bought a place of my own and lived a life of responsibility and not living beyond my means. But that's why they like leftism it's the polar opposite of my previous sentence, because taking responsibility for yourself and your life is too hard.

Professors income is a good case of bimodal distribution.

Vote for Biden! He's not beholden to the banks or the super-wealthy elite of the world! HE'S A TRUE MAN OF THE PEOPLE!!!

Seriously, if you believe that shit... then you should seriously not be allowed to vote or even operate heavy machinery or even drive a car. If you seriously believe that shit, then this is what your permanent residence should look like:

Because previous generations didn’t do a good job denouncing progressive ideology and telling the virtues of capitalism/republic government.  Now all they hear about is the virtues of progressive movements and the artificial atrocities of capitalism/republic government.

Because everything has been handed to them on a silver platter - computers, cell phones, game consoles, TVs, cars, etc.  They don't know any hardship or the value of a dollar, and the US is the "richest" country in the world and needs to take care of all the o-pressed people of the world. The libtards have programmed the kids, with socialism/communism as the endgame.

We're almost there.

Thank you for outing yourself.

OP, you may be surprised by how based a lot of today's kids are. Now, I'm certainly not saying a majority, but if you were exposed to clown world dipshits in school every day you'd either assimilate or push hard the other direction. There are a lot of kids rebelling against today's mainstreamed progressive bullshit, it has become essentially a clique in many areas.

I see this around me as well. Kids seem to be seeing through the bullshit. But instead of pushing them towards republicans it’s pushing them towards distrusting the government altogether.

With the woke bullshit permeating our country for the last decade, conservative values are the counter culture now. That always attracts the younger generation. Combine that with Trump getting railroaded by his own party as well as the media, plus a suspect election…that’s the recipe for the pendulum to swing.

We’ve all been notified that we don’t run things anymore. We work for the government not the other way around. That’s going to have consequences.

The default position of all living things is to exist with as little effort as possible. To spend energy for a delayed payoff is a risk and when basic needs are met that risk is not worth taking.  So now we are in a state of glut, inflation, subsidized existence at every level in the lowest common denominator of humanity in the west.

To suggest to a 25 year old that they should stop living past their means by cutting back on spending, not eat out as much and get rid of their cell phone or internet connection is on par with charging the beaches of Normandy.

Look at the change in Americans from the 1650 living in New England and Americans today living in New England.  In 1650 no one had insulation in their homes, they had to grow and hunt their own food, chop their wood, and haul water every day of the year to their homes.  5, 6 people living in one room with a small fire.  Now look at Americans.  Worthless and weak.

If you let your kids get soft, they will never be strong at any point in their lives when they need it most.

Group think, emotions, naivety, and indoctrination.

Most are never taught or exposed to alternative view points.

This.  Brainwashed from k to 12th and beyond.  No real history is taught, just glossed over as Evil White Men's fault.

None of them will learn the 'truth' as it really is till it's too late and they will be kicked in the head by reality.

It's leftism not liberalism.

They are not liberals.

Centralized authoritarianism seems to be the default people head towards. Our system of limited government and rule of law required virtuous citizens. It was never going to last forever.

because at an incredibly early age we send our children to a school system that has become nothing more than a communist indoctrination system. Even when we discover this fact and have that communist system threaten us with a federal police force if we interfere, we send our kids in to be indoctrinated.

This^^^ I was amazed at how many of my children's friends had very left views and their parents for the most part was hard to the right. NONE of them questioned or got involved with what their kids was being told/taught because they had good grades so everything must be ok.

My wife and I was very involved with what our children was being taught, I never told them what to think, I would just guide them to a different viewpoint and have them read it and discuss what they thought. The love for FBHO was sickening in the schools when my kids was in high-school. My youngest was a troll I think and had arguments/discussion with the teachers about how bad FBHO was and I got called to the school a couple times until the teacher's figured out I was not going to stop him and told them they should change his mind with fact not feelings or straight up fiction.

I think it literally boils down to lazy ass parenting and parents who are at work all the time and as long as the kids don't get in trouble or bad grades they really don't get involved enough to counter-act the crazy shit their kids are being told.
