Quoted: Any blemishes on your coating, heard quality control from the company they were using wasn't up to par. CGW was not satisfied with sending guns back to customers like that. @HBIII That coating is the best of the best though; takes less lubrication, no rust issues, pretty durable and think there was one other thing besides I liked the look. (at least these were the things I was reading about it anyway, not sure if any of it was overhyped). View Quote @Scoobysmak They warned me that it may not look great, but it came back perfect! I wanted it for the rust protection, so very happy with it. |

Don't know how cool it is, but it's pretty neat to me.
From my original thread, several years ago, in the rimfire forum. Just picked up a McLaughlin model 11, .22S single shot pistol. I've never heard of one and can only find two references online. One is an auction where one sold for $70, and the other is a print shop that has some pictures of one. I stopped by my local shop and a woman had brought in a bunch of guns to have cleaned and it was in the pile. I told them to ask her if she was interested in selling it, and here we are. It looks like it was made in someone's garage, a long time ago. It fires 22 shorts from an open bolt, much like an old school "zip-gun". The engraving looks like it was literally done with an electric pencil. I don't know why I wanted it...it's just a goofy, quirky little gun. But it works. I fired some Super Colibri's through it and it works fine and isn't horribly inaccurate. Just curious if anyone had ever heard of them or had any info. This, this is a cool handgun, she did her job well and put down a crazy motherfucker that was determined to kill his girlfriend, and after I stopped that, kill me.
This was the day I got to bring her home from the police station. Attached File |
