The old Suburban of the sky. I think you could probably put a suburban in a Pilatus.

I have enough hours and experience with Cirrus to never trust pressurizing one in the flight levels. The same experience managing and operating small planes and business jets tells me that if I win a billion dollar lottery I’ll just use net jets. Let them deal with that pain in the ass.

LOTS of former airplane owners are doing just that. I work for Netjets’ biggest competitor and we’re getting F100 corporations buying several entire (not a fraction) airplanes with us because if their jet breaks, we send another one. When the company jet breaks, they sit.

Our jet has spent a lot of time broken lately and Bombardier prefers us to visit competitor shops for support. I’m getting nervous that my owner is going to do the same and go fractional.

The Cirrus Vision is my son's holy grail.   I have no doubt that he'll find a way to buy one some day. I just hope it's before I die and get to fly in it.

It looks like the plane the Germans used to bomb Pearl Harbor.

I think every other jet out there makes it look slow.
Unless you are flying a cub, you could probably pass a SF50 on final. And it's a dog on climb out.

Nice.  If I was going to win the lottery or something, I'd probably still just want an older Piper Comanche 250 with wingtip tanks and spend most of the money on maintenance, upgrades and lot of fuel.

Hmmm, which plane should a rich Arfcommer buy?

The Bone is fast and can blow shit up.

On the other hand, the Cirrus can carry more passengers.

Decisions....

They can’t make speed on a lot of jet DPs. I couldn’t back in my Citation days on some departures.

Years back I had more hours in PC-12 than should be legal. I’m so jaded against the idea of airplane ownership now but if I’m being honest if you can afford $2M/YR  PC-12 is about the best bang for the buck.

ETA: $2M/YR was a couple decades back. You probably can’t own and fly a PC-12 for $2M/YR today.

One of my recent jobs, about 5 years ago, could easily operate an Excel for $2M/year covering our whole operation. $2M to operate a PC12??? No way.
