I don't get it. I transitioned nearly seven years ago, I knew the world wasn't as ready for us as some believed and did everything I could to be low key and fly under the radar. What little social life a trans person usually has are lgbt events, so I end up with a few more or less friends on social media that I actually knew. Even before I transitioned I was basically apolitical and only really cared about gun rights. When Trump won, I watched most of the people I met that seemed kinda sorta sane just go completely mental over orange man. When the Charlottesville or whatever it was thing with the 'we will not be replaced' thing happened they all went off the deep end. I told them it wasn't the 4th Reich, and most conservatives thought wannabe Nazis were idiots. That put me in hot water. when the supreme court confirmation thing was going on, I questioned whether it was logical to destroy a mans career with nothing more that decades old testimony on something they never brought up before and became further alienated. Most of the time to that point, I couldn't find a job of any kind and started a lawn and tree trimming thing, which did fairly well, not rich, but able to pay my own way. I had no real issue with Trump, and him taking the border somewhat seriously created a boom for people like me that did hard dirty work. Covid and George Floyd came along and everyone I knew just went crazy about literally everything on social media, peak cancel culture, which I knew wouldn't end well. I pointed out what someone carrying a big tv out of a burning Target store really was and became an absolute pariah, and lost a ton of customer because my target demographics were lgbt and hard left people.

Parallel to all of that, when I first heard of drag queen story hour, while I wasn't outraged, I thought, wow this is a seriously bad idea and bad optics. Turned out I was right. When I first saw trans kids exploding in articles etc., I maintained that since I knew what I was at a very young age, any opinion I might have would be biased by my own experience, so I stayed silent, recall my small contracting business nearly collapsed over an opinion about rioters, but I knew it wouldn't end well.

Fast forward to recent and trans people on twitter were doing comparison pictures at the start of the pandemic and now. I realized from the results that basically everyone posting transitioned during the pandemic, I assume as a result of working from home. During the pandemic itself, I criticized various radical young trans people for basically never showing life outside of their bedroom. I said if you aren't transitioning around people, it isn't really transitioning, and that's the reality of it, being around random people in public made me thick skinned and tough. While I can't ever "pass" it helped me develop a look and style that made me pretty much blend in and no one laughed at me or hassled me anymore. Another trans female I knew made some idiotic post about coming out a 2nd time as antifa, and since I constantly helped them prior, I said to never ask me for help anything again. Which brings me to the point that all of a sudden huge swaths of antifa were pretty much dying their hair purple and calling themselves trans. I knew both the George Floyd riots and Antifa were making everyday people nervous, so again, seriously bad optics.

The bottom line is that there is no transgender mafia or cult, if here is, I never got a ballot, but by the end of the pandemic I could walk through Pride and no one wanted to talk to me, I had committed the unforgivable sin of independent rational thought. I know maybe a half dozen trans people in real life, but rarely see them, or have their number or know where they live. I know this "battle" or whatever it is, we're going to lose, and saying "we" is absurd because again, i don't really know anyone at this point. So everyone one of us that just wanted to be left alone and not rock the boat, takes the fall with the rest. It sucks really, the right didn't want me, the left didn't want me, and I was okay with that because I just wanted to go about my life in peace, but that doesn't really seem possible for anyone anymore.

The wise among us will stay off the radar like we always have, and we'll find a way to get what we need. People like us were doing it decades ago when it was nearly impossible and there was no such thing as a gender clinic. If you're for real, you'll find away to survive.

Yup, it's a problem here and in many states. Sure it's easy to laugh at the "goofs" but a large chunk of Antifa and the like are actively training and preparing. They are plenty of well trained and driven people helping them as well. It's not uncommon to see those types of people in the NF/state managed forests if you spend enough time out there.
