As the parent of triplets I think it is kind of nice.  Twins have a very strong bond and I think another set of twins would produce someone who understands that bond.  And the wedding sounds like they were having fun with the whole thing.

In the end, different does not mean creepy.

A good friend of mine in grade school was an identical twin. Even with the same hair and school uniform I could easily tell them apart at a glance. Subtle things you pick up on when you're around them enough.

I'm remembering hazily back to 10th grade Biology class, and IIRC there's no guarantee that the 23 chromosomes Kid 1A gets from Brother 1 and the 23 chromosomes he gets from Sister A will be the exact same sets of chromosomes Kid 2b gets from Brother 2 and Sister B.

If that happened then every set of parents would just have the same kid over and over again, right?

I think you're confusing terms. While the offspring won't be "copies", the variation in each set would be within the deviation parameters for a traditional sibling set.

I know identical triplets. Once you get to know one well, it is easy to see the differences in them. No problem telling them apart.

Identical twins have basically identical DNA.  With both sets of parents being practically genetically identical, the children from both sets of parents will be genetic siblings. They wont necessarily look the same, just like any other siblings. Genetic tests would identify them as siblings.

I don't know WTF "quaternary multiples" means.

While I don't think the cousins will have "identical DNA", I imagine they'll have more in common than regular cousins do, even if they end up the opposite gender.
quaternary multiples:  The "quaternary" part is from DNA testing.   In the article it says  you can normally tell from a DNA test who the father of a child is... except if he has a twin brother.

I suspect the "multiples" part is because it's two sets of twins for the parents, so the DNA test probably won't be able to tell which is the mother too.

It also says “not cousins.”

Edit: full genetic siblings is nonsense.

Tho.. it might be better if they're raised to think of each other as a sibling.  There's quite a few states that allow first cousin marriage.

Identical twins are genetically, not physically, identical.  One twin will be slightly heavier and taller than the other.

If they've been paying attention they would know they were getting freaky with the other one.  But if it was dark I suppose it would be difficult to tell.

Practically yes they are. If you took blood samples from their kids it would show they had the same mother and father.

But In all reality they are not as even identical twins have minor differences in DNA. Some of those changes occur during development while others occur after we are born, and scientists have learned that Changes in our DNA can actually Be trigger by events in our life not to mention mutation.

Going to be super awkward if one of them gets a divorce

People are misunderstanding the article they are not claiming the cousins will be identical but rather that at a genetic level they will be brother/sister

I have two aunts that are twins that married twin brothers.

I worked with a guy that was a twin and they married twin girls.  I went to the double wedding.

But those not exactly the same children from those same two parents are easily genetically identified as siblings.  These kids will be just like that,  not exactly the same in appearance,  but genetically identifiable as siblings.

My uncles are identical twins. Any family get togethers, it was quite easy to tell them apart once you were around them a few minutes.

The freaky part: one twin got dementia several years ago but the other one hasn’t (yet?). The ok twin has a survivors guilt and grief.

2 of my aunts are twins. I can't tell them apart unless they're with their husbands or my cousins. Dad claims he can tell them apart.

Oh, and they have names that start with the same letter, which is the stupidest twin thing on the planet.
