Even middle of the road news is really painting this as a big defeat.
Look, I know we're still getting some shitty laws passed, but ANY victory in this Dem controlled cesspool deserves 24 hours of celebration. Then back to work. I'm hearing "brutal defeat" and "furious rebuke" and the like |

Now we gotta watch the no protesting in front of special snowflakes homes bill
'cause some of these quislings need an asphalt wagon bubbling on their culdesac |

What is really wild about this, is that when you go to the range the average gun owner kinda seems like a tard. However, While in virginia I met some of the most competent, intelligent and driven individuals that ive ever met in my life. I was truly impressed with the work that Lexconcord, Ben, planesmaker and some of the others put into the pre-rally report. We will see you guys again next year, with reinforcements. Damon. Damon, It’s interesting. On my way back from Richmond, heading up 95 I knew one thing, I didn’t want Pennsylvania to become Virginia. Since I’ve been home, I’ve became one of the faces of my county’s ( Union County) 2A Sanctuary Ordinance movement. My picture has been in the paper 3 times in two weeks. Up to today, I’ve met nearly every municipal supervisor in my county. Things are looking good for us... All that being said, I’ve met some great, patriotic people in my county. I’d be lying if I didn’t sense the same Government distrust feeling up here, that was so prevalent in Richmond. I’ve had old men, high school kids and old women with tears in their eyes thanking me and asking me what they can do to stop all this government overreach. Of course, the answer is vote and contact all levels of your government representatives about t the 2nd and PA’s Article 1 Section 21. There’s also been the side that’s ready to go to guns. I tell them to get mentally and physically fit and competent with their firearms and pray to Got it never comes to that. We aren’t anywhere near that point. People have been stopping me after the municipal meetings, when I’m working out and in the store to comment and express their concern. I don’t think Northam realizes he lit a fuse that spread much further than Virginia. Virginian’s keep vigilant! I’ll see you next year in Richmond! Again! Edited for fat fingering....see below post. Yeah this is a big deal because gun owners got way ahead of the both national and state Republican party; not many politicians seemed to know what was going on until after the fact. The only national gun group was telling everyone not to attend, so that meant that all the tens of thousands of people had to organize and show up somehow, and did so despite the FBI and media trying to scare people away by branding it a white supremacist gathering. Plus the leadup to the rally too. Just showing conservatives that it's okay to use your local government, that you are not violating some obscure conservative principle when your county/city passes a resolution to not enforce a new law is important. This was truly a grass roots movement. What is really wild about this, is that when you go to the range the average gun owner kinda seems like a tard. I am so happy to see they rejected this bullshit in the VA Senate. You guys won this battle with sheer determination. Had you not flocked to Richmond is huge numbers, had you not flocked to city and county government meetings demanding 2A sanctuaries and had you not started creating local militia, this shit would have been rammed through. I am so proud of you guys. Virginians got off their asses and said NO to an assault weapons/mag ban. That is all that stopped this. Let this be a lesson to people in other states.

There's a year and a half for everyone to forget about this, if they don't swing for the fences again next year.
As people have already pointed out, this was but one of the terrible bills making its way through, and not even the worst. Don't celebrate yet, keep those phones ringing and senate chambers packed. |

Actually, I think the reverse will happen. I believe that we have been given an opportunity to start constructing a framework that will allow us to respond even quicker and more decisively to 2A threats in the state. They overplayed their hand and energized a base they should not have energized. They made a significant error. If anything, it shows that the left isn't quite as smart as they think they are. I did have a bit of a chuckle when watching the live feed this am. When douchebag Levine was talking about what people can do with the magazines that would be illegal after 01/21. Levine was like "they could dispose of them" ...to which Obenshain replied with a surprised look "like throw them in the trash?"
lol. |
