Interactive brokers is showing fees of 45.4 % and 650,000 available shares; i'm thinking rising fee means shorts are still going hard despite a few returned shares.  Their high for free was 3.3M, and they scrounged up extra the past few days, so lots still out there.

Numbers from https://fintel.io/ss/us/mvis match, i wonder it it pulls interactive brokers data too.

I was pretty amazed that both gme and mvis were gaining steam at the same time yesterday.  I figured much of the surge was due to the newcomers but didn't think they could focus on more than one stock at a time.  I'd guess that some big wigs might have noticed the same and decided to take advantage while the buying power was divided.  Anyone think this is plausible?

Gme is losing steam as well.  Maybe some will head back here since that party's wrapping up.

The only thing I would've potentially done different is sold all my calls and bought MVIS stock with the proceeds.  That would've reduced my risk exposure a bit but obviously it would've capped my upside.  They don't expire until 5/21 so I'm not really worried about the theta decay.

I am betting on red day overall, with a turnaround on Thursday.  I base this on my <1 years of trading stocks experience.

Got back in @$19.80 avg for 100. After selling way too early on Friday.
I thought I wasn’t gonna be able to get back in. Hate that it dropped for the big earners but glad I was able to put a small amount of skin back in the game.

If it drops a little more  I got some reserves to get more skin in.

It wasn't really even one of the two things I thought might happen.

Usually after a mega gain day, it walks back.  We've had two gainers in a row and hit the 52 WH yesterday.  I figured we'd either shoot out of the gate or just walk it all back today.

We are really in a good spot.  I tend to discount AH but the push up AH after the walk back today means there's still interest in a higher stock price.

Another small milestone, but they do tend to become trends if well watered...

First time in probably eleven years we've closed over $20 on two consecutive days in a row. Didn't make it by much today, but then again I remember not too very long ago when we fought like hell to close over a dollar for ten consecutive days to regain NASDAQ compliance. I think that was the most nerve-wracking fight we ever went through...makes this look like the salad days in comparison!

I want everyone to take this pledge....

I will be very happy when MVIS is priced at $25/share in May.

I will be ecstatic when MVIS does a run to $37/share in May.
*I will likely take some profits on this day.

I will be very happy 1 day later when MVIS settles back to $25/share in May.
*I will likely buy back whatever I sold on the past day.

From the discord,

Dark Pool went further short with a -42M share and -$1.023B position

Add the "public" short numbers, and MVIS is 60-70% shorted.

That would explain the high fees.

What's the probability those numbers reflect the huge volume of short-duration shorts who piled in this morning knowing - just like we did - that these irrational spikes sell off violently in the following day or two?

Yahoo Finance has a little value widget on their stocks.  MVIS has been max overvalued as long as I can remember.  I don't know what simplistic formula arrives at that result, but it is simplistic compared to reality. It might as well not exist.

Ok, a couple of rookie questions.

First, cleared funds. I sold some stock yesterday and bought some today. After yesterday's sale, I had ~$4 more than I needed for today's buy. When I entered the sale, schwab warned me that I didn't have enough cash to cover it and I couldn't sell until I had enough cash for the purchase. Does this mean that funds had not yet cleared from yesterday? Was this a purchase on margin?

Second, wash sales. I haven't had one, but some have mentioned the following scenario: buy at $1, sell at .90. Buy back in at .85, and cost would now be .95 because of wash sale rules. My question is, does that mean that if you then sell at at .90, you can now claim the .05 loss? Or is this just an accounting note for you, and your broker reports a .05 gain to the IRS and gives you no credit for the .10 loss because of wash sale?

I realize you're joking but I do believe there is an element of intuition that can be developed around this.

A chart is a representation of fundamentals, knowns/unknowns, investor sentiment, etc. The chart eventually accounts for everything (though not necessarily perfectly or in real time). Depending on the market around a stock (different groups of people/funds are interested in different stocks and have different methods, levels of capital, styles of buying/selling, etc.) these various factors may have relatively more or less impact. The more you watch a chart, which is a culmination of everything impacting the shares, imo, the more you get a feel for how it moves, the more intuition you may be able to build about what it is going to do. You don't necessarily have to have perfect knowledge of every potential factor affecting price action.

IMO, it is chart/company specific. The factors that affect MVIS are different (at least in strength/proportion) from the factors affecting TSLA are different from the factors affecting JNJ. What works on one chart may not work on another.
