Ohh I have another one!

Submechaniphobia. Or the fear of mechanical objects under water. I am a certified open water and enriched air diver, deep water doesn't scare me. Water in general doesn't scare me. But being close to mechanical things underwater bothers me.

Even when I was a kid, like at a water park. Getting close to the machines that pump the water around, getting close to the big screen/grate at the deep part of the wave pool. All that shit bothers me. I don't even like diving around the pilons of a bridge. I just don't like being near mechanical things while in the water.

Oddly enough I can climb up a boat ladder right beside propeller. No issues. I can dive down to a sunken barge and explore, no issues. But being near mechanical objects that are currently working or making noise, fuck no!

Pedestrian bridges over roadways- I watch them like a hawk before I go under them.

23 years ago, some asshole kids dropped a baseball-sized rock off one and it went through the middle of my windshield and I damn near wrecked the truck.
I managed to pull off the road a half mile or so from the bridge and shook like a leaf in the wind for about 10 minutes; then I got really pissed off and went hunting but the little pricks were gone.

I called the cops and about 4 days later a deputy stopped by my house and said they caught'em after they did again, but this time it caused a wreck that hospitalized some folks and someone seen them throw the rock.

Other than, nothing really. There are some things I'll say not just no, fuck no, to, but that's because I don't want to deal with the aggravation.

I'm not really afraid of anything. I don't live nor do I make decisions based on fear.

I am concerned however about the epidemic of ignorance, stupidity and brain dysfunction in this once great nation. Where are the patriots??  How in the fuck do we allow so many fucking socialist communist dickheads to breed and achieve  positions of power in the United States of America?

That is is what concerns me greatly because I may not have enough ammo, despite my great preparatory skill set, to affect the outcome that needs occur when left finally decides to go full retard on patriots.

That is all.

Took a 1/2" splinter of metal to the eyeball on an industrial sized bench grinder.  Learned that safety glasses alone are not sufficient for most metal grinding. Every time I blinked, the shard would scratch the nerve bundle. Massive headache.

ER doc pulled it out and used a medical Dremel to remove the surface rust on my eyeball. Had to wear a eye patch for a few weeks.

I’m always uncomfortable flying even though I know it’s very safe statistically.  Probably more because I can’t control anything. I acknowledge that it’s irrational, but it still makes me nervous.

Don't like heights (as in, anything over 30 ft).

I know, 30 ft can get you dead...but for some reason it doesn't bother me. Its not constrained by logic.

ETA::I'm not talking about a paralyzing fear. But I do not fucking like it. Period.

Oh, and another thing, being trapped in tight space, slowly dying. I'd rather burn to death than that shit.

I have zero fear of drowning, even though I know water is dangerous.

It's weird. The table saw is dangerous, i get that. People get hurt bad by them. I've done damage to a hand with one, and it could have been much worse. All in, I'm ok with the table saw though. My irrational shop tool fear is the jointer. I get chills thinking about slipping off the back of a board and having four razor sharp blades spinning at 15000 RPM flay the skin off of my palm. Or anything else. I know it's probably only going to peel 1/32" off of a limited area, but it's irrational.
