I've been buying a lot of Abbv. Great medical stock that pays a nice dividend and has seen some nice growth too!

Small bites of this and that here and there.
I bought a little INTC a few weeks ago when it was low(er). LPG about the same time. Wish I would have loaded up on it then as it went up 30%. Missed the boat, but I've been gun shy about taking big positions. A little VZ and T about the same time. Both are pretty beaten up. |

View Quote Waldo, Picked up 100 shares of LPG this morning. I'm a bit late, but I think I will hold it awhile and collect the dividend. Thanks for the tip! May buy more should the price drop some. Looking at DVN but haven't decided yet, dropping like a rock today. |

I kind of hate buying into it now at $19. My magic 8 ball is in the shop. |

I'm accumulating some mining-oriented stocks for long term holds. The video posted here a while back showing mineral needs for "the transition" was a real eye opener. RIO pays a hefty divi and is still way down from its post-COVID highs. FCX pays a regular, though smaller, divi and is also still down. FLR is likewise positioned to profit from "the transition" with all of the construction of "renewables" (yes, I am a greedy cynic, now that you mention it). I've also got some LAC. I sell covered calls constantly on all of these positions as well, so my cost basis for each is considerably down from what I paid for them.

I'm waiting for it to break it's 52 week low before buying again. May not happen. |

Picked up several $10K 1-year CD's @ 4.60%. I will continue with more in the future if rates increase.
Waiting for what I think is the bottom of the market, or close to it. I don't know how long it will be before we will be at a bottom, but I am thinking maybe end of first quarter 2023. Still watching DVN |

I put $30K into stocks since opening my Robinhood account back in August, and I’m down 5% overall year to date. |

Stock markets go up and down, that is what they do. Those who make smart decisions will come out the other side having made lots of money. It has been that way all of my life, and I see no reason it will change. Stay focused, stay positive, make small good moves, learn from any mistakes, and you will someday be rewarded. Added: Bought a very small amount of DVN, will watch and accumulate dividends for now. |

I guess I bought some BHP today on a limit order.
It was a pretty good day overall. I'm probably up 11-12% YTD. Beats being down. |

I guess I was a bit slow reducing my stock holdings. It cost me. I am down this year, but up very slightly over the last 12-months. I hope to be early for the recovery with my partial hold strategy. |

Still watching MPW. Bought some when it was at a low, and a bit more today. Not sure it will stay up, but it pays a good dividend (9.24%) and its portfolio of hospitals looks fairly solid. Anything can happen but we are close to a 5 year low, REITS have gotten hit hard although I'm not seeing a clear reason why people have been pulling out money.

Sold AMT, TRGP, NRG, MSFT, and took profits on all of them.
Purchased another 1-yr. CD. 4.7%, will show up Monday in my account. Looking forward to next week to see what happens. Next month I will be looking at harvesting some losses for tax purposes. I have lots to select from. |

I added 200 shares of DOW at 47.66 a couple days ago. Watched it go down all day . Finally bought it. Wish I had pulled the trigger a couple weeks ago.
I buy mostly dividend stock and hold. 5.8% dividend is not hard to hold. |

I bought most of my CD's through my Schwab account. I really like Schwab, and mostly no charges for any transactions.
I also have brokerage accounts through a local large regional bank. They have a wealth management section that I carry my IRA's, and some personal stock accounts with. I like being able to get investment advice from them when I want it, but I also have to pay per transaction with them. So fun investing/transactional shorter term stocks, CD's, and treasury purchases through Schwab, and long-term stock purchases mainly through the bank. |

Bought some MPW today for my portfolio. The dividend on MPW is 9.24%. I already owned some of it.
During the last few weeks I have bought CD's with yields averaging approximately 4.25%. So my plan is to mix high yield dividend stocks into the portfolio such as LPG 30.20%, FLNG 8.82%, DVN 7.52% along with other nice yielding stocks. This is my attempt to mix CD safety with high dividend stocks to increase yield. Time will tell if this is a successful strategy, but is the best I can come up with at this time. I am still sitting on a good amount of cash that I will probably put in CD's if they go above 5%. As the CD's I have mature I will decide about holding the funds as cash, buying more CD's, or buying stocks. |

High dividend stocks have their own risks. Those dividends can evaporate quickly in a difficult economy. I also wonder why more of the profits aren't used to expand and grow the company to further increase income. That said, there are many companies that offer high dividends and have done so for many years. I tend to limit the amount of money I put into each high dividend stock, and limit my overall exposure on high dividend stocks. During these times the search for "good" income can be challenging. |

I have a portfolio that's only goal was to match inflation over the last year with Divys, altria, bit, REITs, commodity plays etc.
Some of them are finally back to a couple percent under my value. I'm strongly considering dumping them and going to cash on more of my portfolio (non retirement). I'm expecting the real economic news to start trickling out. Thoughts? |
