Perhaps you could clarify the meaning behind your phrase "ride to space with?"

Perhaps, using the last launch, the answer is "Europeans, Japanese, and Russians?"

My question mark remains legitimate, as I don't understand the point your apparently rhetorical question is trying to make.

This.

Had to listen to my boomer father lament on how worried we need to be about Russia.

"Dad, Russia can't even invade Muslim Quebec!!"
"Yes, but you didn't grow up knowing that they could nuke us any minute!"

The farce of Russia as a 1st world military power is absolutely ridiculous at this point, and I've lost respect for anyone who still holds that irrational fear.

I’m more worried about them giving a cobalt source to some terrorists and telling them to go have fun.

The F-35 lift system is in no way copied from the Yak-141  The Yak-141 uses two turbofan engines mounted in a mostly vertical orientation to provide this lift, as well as a conventionally mounted jet engine with thrust vectoring.  The F-35 uses only a single jet engine - a Pratt and Whitney F135 turbofan with thrust vectoring.  Lift in the forward fuselage is not provided by jet exhaust at all, but rather from a large fan that is powered through a shaft and clutch from the F135.  The two systems are only superficially similar in that both dedicated lift systems are located in the forward section of the fuselage and both have "doors" in the upper fuselage that open for operation of the lift systems.

Are you honestly not aware that SpaceX has already delivered seven crews to the ISS, as well as two additional crewed (private) flights?  The US does not need anyone else to get to the ISS.  SpaceXstarted transporting crews to the ISS as part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program (CCP) in 2020.

There might be some old agreements that still involve an occasional US astronaut riding on a Soyuz to the ISS, but our reliance on the Russians to get us to the ISS (or anywhere else in space) ended in 2020.

(Boeing is also part of this program, but their vehicle has suffered lots of setbacks and delays, and will likely not be delivering crews until 2025 at the earliest)

Nasa has not delivered its own crew since 2011.

Yes, I am aware of SpaceX.

We have sent more people to space using other nations, than SpaceX, since Nasa's last manned flight.

We last sent a US person to space in a Russian craft 09/15/23.

Maybe with nukes, but certainly not with conventional weapons. They're struggling to take out a much smaller country they share a land border with.

And the nukes assume they've actually been taking care of them.

The biggest realistic threat they pose with nukes is selling them to someone with a more competent military like North Korea or Iran.
