I don't know how to describe it, but it's like a new palette of earth tone like colors... almost flat looking but maybe with a clear coat that still gives it a gloss.
I kinda like it in a weird way. like this ...  and this

China offloading waste product titanium dioxide into the paint (makes it whiter).
See it in houses and businesses being painted as well - everything is white or grey. |

Mercedes especially has some really cool matte colors I like. There's a lot of these semi-matte type blues and grays I really like too.
One of my current favorites is the Jetta GLI Autobahn in Pure Gray with the black package.  |

Yep, looks like flat primer with a clear coat over it. I for one don't like the look. It will probably go out of style real fast and nobody will want them. Remember Teal colored cars? Can't give them away.

While I'm not keen on the muted colors, I'm equally not keen on the nuclear meltdown greens and safety vest oranges that some performance cars come in.
I'd rather have a gray performance car than a look at me neon green or purple one. |

When I buy a Porsche, the color pictured in the first two about is the color I have settled on. I think it looks really good, shows off the car, I usually get a metallic grey, but I like that color. Chalk is the name of the color.

Nardo Grey GT3s sell for $30,000 more secondhand. I prefer Signal Orange or Carmine Red personally. Or Rosso Corsa Red.
