Have you ever personally encountered some type of entity that defies conventional explanation but you know is/was real?

Ever been in a haunted house?

Ever encountered what some people call either demons or angels?

I saw a Death walking by my neighbors house one dark night. It passed under his bright pole light, but wasn't illuminated.

It seemed to absorb the light and then it seemed to just evaporate.

Nobody died.

Heard a crack and hit by water inside a house. Does that count?

Seen shit since longer than I can remember.
.

Like I'm peeking into a freeze frames in time.
Most of the time. It's like I'm looking at a photo thats had a double exposure.  You see whats there but its not right.  Kinda hazy, sorta gotta squint to make it out. But your not sure if what u saw was really there.

Small example.  Walked by the couch turn the corner and go up the stairs.  Dog curled up on the corner of the couch.  But that dog died 10years ago. Look again and its nothing.

I don't like the ones that interact. Have a nefarious tone.

Used to live in a house. Wife and I replaced a super wide front door, so we ripped out the old frame and in the wall was a tin box full of big brown buttons. I'm holding a button and I start seeing, smelling and tasting cigar smoke. Cheap cigar. I can see the smoke curling around in the sunlight coming thru the open door way. Things got dark after that.  Like a weight was being held upon us. Things would break, fall, move.  Had a serious episode that I'd rather not share. But it left.

Staying at a friends house, I was probably 9?  Sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag, I woke up right before an apparition walked through my legs. I didn't see anything, but that's a feeling I will never forget. Imagine if a lace curtain was pulled across your skin, but went all the way through. No cold feelings when it happened though, but not warm either.

This was in rural Indiana, supposedly around some Indian burial grounds. Kinda doubt it's related, but who knows

I have a few.

My parent's old house that was pretty damn old.
Two story, looked like a cross between a old farm house and the house from Amityville Horror flick.

We had many different strange things go on there, but the two strangest and un-explainable were as follows.

1. One day we were sitting in the LR watching TV.  My mom, my sister, my g/f at the time, my dog and myself.

From where I was sitting in the LR on the couch feet up watching tv, I could see into the kitchen with my right eye.

Everything was quite, watching TV.  All of a sudden we hear this wooden screeching sound. I caught some movement out of my right eye and I look into the kitchen and one of the drawers on the kitchen cabinets was slid way out. The dog jumped and started whining and barking in that direction, but would not go in there.

Everyone looked at me, I got up went in there and looked around, Drawer was all the way out.  Looked around rest of the house, no one there, but the people I mentioned.
The thing about this drawer, it was a normal height and depth, but really wide and very hard to open.  You had to grab it by both handles, lift up and jerk it really hard.  Same to close it.
NO way, it just slide open on its on, due to gravity, house shifting a bit or anything like that.
No real explanation though.
_______________________________________________________________________________
2. Then another time.
We were all in the LR again, watching TV, we hear this loud crash.  I though the neighbor ran his truck into the house or something in the attached garage fell.

I went out checked, Nothing, wen outside, nothing. Went upstairs and checked the bathroom and bedrooms, in the spare bedroom my mom had my sistes old "Day Bed"  Kinda like a normal full size, but had a brass railing around the back, head and foot.

I had a tool box on the bed as far back as I could get it, against the back rail.

It was now on the floor almost in the middle of the room.
No way it rolled off and landed out there.

To test it, I put it back where it was.  I had to roll it over three or four times, before it got to the edge and could fall off.  Then it fell down and was pretty much at the edge of the bed on the floor, not several feet out.

No explanation on that one either.

Several times, people would have stuff come up missing, then find it, somewhere they knew they had not been.  Like out in the locked attached garage or down in the basement, when no one had been there...

We'd always laugh and blame it on my Dads real mom, who died in the house well before I was born. We'd say, Welp, Grandmas at it again and laugh it off.
My sister had a few friends that freaked out and would not come back over or stay the night.
___________________________________________________________________________________

3. Then another at a g/f house....  Right after H.S. I dated this girl who lived maybe 45 mins away.

I'd go to her place and her parents would let me stay the night, but I had to sleep in the spare bed in the basement.
I loved it.  It was a king size, heavy, soft comforters, really cool from the AC and really dark, perfect sleeping conditions for me.

My girl would sneak down there, we'd do our thing and she'd go back to her room.

One night, I remember laying there asleep.
I remember my face feeling really hot for some reason, uncomfortable, almost burning.
I woke up.  It was not at dark in the room and and I could see or thought I could see a cloud or something, I rubbed/cleared my eyes and looked again.

WTF..  It was a man, sort of, but not quite. He was tall skinny, blond hair, looked like a real burn out Hoosier type guy.
He had a big scar down one side of his face.

The burning went away, and I got a freezing chill, like see your breath type of cold.
He pointed at and touched his face and said something like, tell Debbie, Ronnie says, "It don't hurt no more"... Debbie was the G/f's mom.

Then it/he started coming closer to me.
I freaked the fuck out. I think I bitch screamed a little. I pulled the comforter over my head, like that would protect me from anything.
A few seconds, mins later, I dunno how long.  Felt like an hour. I couldn't take it, I pulled them off to peak and it was gone...

At this point, I was really freaked. (getting chills typing this again) and I ran upstairs and woke everyone up.

After they calmed me down, I could tell something was up, everyone looked like I'd just ran over the family cat.
Then, they told me about the g/f's mom had a brother that was into drugs real bad and robbed a store or someone at a store or something and he got shot and killed.

Supposedly, he was involved in a fight before that trying to rob someone and he got hit with a crow bar or tire iron and it split his face open.  He had a bunch of surgeries, but it left a big nasty scar and that part of his face or skull never healed right and always hurt him.

Supposedly, that's why he was still messed up on drugs. He got hooked on pain killers and robbed to get his fixes.

Up until this point, I'd never heard about this guy, the name Ronnie or anything about him as they did not like to talk about him.

I was freaked out for days.  I had a hard time sleeping in that basement after that, but never saw anything else like that.

There is more about the g/fs mom going to see a Psychic and the Psychic talking to her dead brother.

Q... when did she start seeing them? And is it the same ghosts that follow her or she is sensitive to them in general

Worked in a 3 story building (kind of a house setup) restaurant.

Multiple times when I was alone I could heard someone walking on the middle floor when I was downstairs. I knew the layout very well and at night after closing I could tell where and what someone was doing.

I’m opening/prepping and I’m alone. I can hear someone walking from the back by the corner tables towards the stairs then out the back door on the 2ns floor. L shape floor.

After that, the sound went all the way back to the corner tables.

I got curious and armed up with a 10” knife

Cleared the entire building, checked the doors and went back to the kitchen downstairs and hung out by the door ready to leave

Boss finally came and I looked freaked apparently. Told him someone was upstairs hiding and we checked and of course nothing.

Then he don’t worry it was nothing

Few weeks later just before opening we’re upstairs eating and I see a shape standing by the stairs, backlit by the sun coming in the window.

Every hair stood up and I fucking froze. 2min I’m just sitting there watching and then it moved off towards the backdoor.

I ran downstairs and took a break

Finally the boss says, “ya, there’s some weird shit that happens here”

Years later I’m talking to someone who worked in the building as a different restaurant after we had closed and they asked if I ever heard or saw the ghost.

We had fun with it, my buddy at the time was TERRIFIED of it, anytime he was in the shitter after closing we’d make ghost sounds and scratch the door.

He’d come running out pulling up his pants and screaming FUCK YOU!!! And then go smoke a in his truck

I have not seen "it" but others have seen my "doppleganger" One time even in the same house as me in another room.

I am a skeptic as can be but I believe everyone that witnessed it were convinced of it. I will never know what caused them to experience it.

I saw shadows that weren't on the wall one time as a kid and they seemed to be aware of my presence. I chalk it up to an intense dream what my brain must have stored it as a real even though other weird shit happened to other people in that room. I figure some electrical field might be going on but I never bothered to buy the shit to find out.

I can only relay the experiences. I cannot and will not  promise you any scientific explanations and I cannot I say it was paranormal. Its just unknown at this point. I sometimes want o attribute it to what some of you may , but scientifically I cannot.

Speaking of doppelgangers.

There is someone that works in the same industry that I do. I've never met him or seen him (don't know his name), but he is widely known and we'll liked. At trade shows I usually have no less than 1 dozen people I've never met stop me and talk with me. Folks I've never seen before in my life.

One guy told me how great it was to speak with me again and what an honor it was. I'm like

It's a joke at work now. My co-workers have a contest going on who will find "me" first at a show.

I have seen the hole that was dug under Bill Sketoe's feet. I used to live close enough to ride my bike down there with the other kids in the neighborhood. I have filled it in and come back to see it cleaned out again. The construction crew for the new bridge they built in '79 bulldozed it and the old tree away. We moved from there during it's construction. Even then there were rumors someone was tending to it and keeping it clean.

I posted this in the creepy thread awhile ago.
The Light.

There's a story that's been handed down on my dad's side of the family about eerie lights that would follow people through the woods.
My grandfather was the first to see them, then my uncle and dad. Always at the edge of a clearing in the forest where we hunt. They said it always did weird things, my uncle even shot at it with his rifle and nothing happened, it just flashed and kept on moving toward him until he ran like hell.
I always thought they were just trying to scare me until I saw it myself. I was 17 years old.
It was already pretty dark and I was heading back in from hunting, I had my single barrel, break action 16ga.

As I was passing through he woods near this clearing I see a light out of the corner of my eye, I'd describe it as an orb of very bright white light.
Weird thing is, it didn't cast any light, it was localized. I then remembered all those old stories.
This thing was floating at least a hundred yards off. Moving very slowly, when it came to something on the ground it would just change it's height and float over it returning to about knee height to me. No noise at all.

Ok, now I was kinda creeped out. So, I yell, "Who's there! Who IS that!" It stopped. Then it flickered and flashed once really bright. I was blinded for a few seconds, when my vision readjusted it was no more than 20-30 yds from me and still creeping along. I could see now that this isn't some kind of flashlight held by a person, I could clearly see there was no physical thing there, only a perfectly round sphere of white light.
I shakily say, "You better back off, I have a gun, I'll shoot you!"
It flickered again and went out. That was it for me, I turned and headed off to the path that led to my house about a mile off.
A few minutes later it appeared again, this time no more than 30 yds to my right, it was matching my movement. I started into a jog, it matched my pace.
If it was a person it would've been bobbing up and down, but it didn't, it glided smoothly. Still not casting any light or shadows among the trees.

I yelled at it again, "I don't know what you are! But leave me alone!"
"You better get your ass out of here before I shoot!" Once again it flickered, flashed, and went out.
That was the final straw for me, I took off like my ass was on fire. Sprinting along the path through the trees getting closer to my house.
It fucking appeared on the path in front of me only about 10 yds away, it was blinding this time, brighter than before, it sped up too.
I freaked out, veered to the right, I knew there was a drop-off there, not too steep or anything but still hard to get down.
I hit it, and slid on my side all the way to the bottom. Bruised my hip, tore my pants, and put a few gouges on the stock of my old shotgun.
But my house was just through the woods at the bottom, I could see the porch lights.

I looked back at the top off of the drop-off and the light was no where to be found.
I made it to my house, huffing and puffing, and told my dad about it.
He said, "Not just a ghost story now is it?" "I thought the same thing when my dad and brother told me about it."
"I told you I saw it, your papaw saw it, your uncle saw it, now you saw it."
I asked if I'd see it again and he said that they hadn't seen it after the first time, and they were always alone when it appeared.
They had even gone out looking for it at night, nothing. As far as I know, It hasn't been spotted since I saw it either.

I'm 43 now, I still live in these woods, and other weird things have happened.
Needless to say, I don't spend too much time in the woods after dark around here.

I was probably 11 or 12 when this happened. My two cousins and I would always go out into the woods and tear ass on our bicycles, there's miles of trails between here and the PA border.
Sometimes we'd ride into the night before heading home, this was just such a night.
It was a nice fall evening, probably around 60 degrees.
It was dark but we decided to take a break after climbing this huge hill before heading back home, so we sat down around this huge oak tree.
The sounds of the woods at night were all around us.

Then, like someone hit a switch, silence, we could hear each other breathe it was so quiet.
We looked at each other in the light of a small handle bar light on my bike.
One cousin said, "Man, what the hell? This ain't right."
I felt something, something just didn't feel right inside me, I got that shaky, chills up my spine feeling and said, "Let's go, now. This is messed up."

Just then a huge gust of wind hit through the woods, I mean it was a strong, blew dead leaves every where.
There was no warning at all, nothing to tell us the wind was coming, the sky was clear, no storms in the area.
This wind was hot, like just opened an oven hot. And then the smell hit us, like burning matches, really strong smell.
Brimstone.

We jumped on our bikes and were about to GTFO when the wind reversed direction and went back the way it came.
It only lasted a few seconds, but felt longer, and that smell stayed.
Then everything was still, still absolute silence in the deep woods.
That's when we hear leaves and sticks breaking in the woods behind us, heavy footfalls, and a sort of breathing sound.
Now, I was the only one with a light, and it was a piece of crap that barely lit up a few feet in front of me.
We knew the trails though and hauled ass.
My youngest cousin hit a tree root bending his front rim and throwing him off the bike.

So, we stopped having rode pretty far from that giant oak.
The sounds of crickets and normal night sounds had returned.
He wasn't hurt, but that bike wasn't going anywhere.
He picked it up to carry it and was freaking out that we were going to leave him behind.
I said we'd push our bikes the last mile to my house.
No sooner than I said that, silence again, the brimstone smell returns, and so do the footfalls coming from our left.
I turned my handle bar light in that direction, we all caught a quick glimpse of something like eyes about 6 ft off the ground.
My oldest cousin said, "Did you guys see that!?" "Shiiiiit!" "What is it!!!"

So we take off, running with our bikes like , well, like a Hellbeast was chasing us.
I could hear sticks snapping and leaves crunching off to our side.
It was keeping pace with us and was getting closer.
One of my cousins was yelling shit! shit! shit! shit! over and over.
Being a religious boy who attended church regularly, I started yelling things like ,
"The power of Jesus protects us! You can't hurt us! Go away!"
"Jesus help us!"

Oh man. That did it I guess. We hear this snarling and kind of whining sound behind us.
Whatever it was, it was good and pissed now.
My oldest cousin said, "Say that stuff about Jesus again!"
So, I said something like, "The light of Jesus surrounds us! He won't let you hurt us! Leave us alone now!"
This time nothing, no sounds, no movement.
Then the smell faded and sounds could be heard again.

We still hightailed it back through the woods to my house.

I told my grandma, she said,
"That was that ol' Scratch huntin' you, probly with his hounds."
"My mother called it watch-a-ne-toc, (Shawnee for evil spirit), when my pappy met him in the dark woods like that once when we lived up in the mountains."

"That's why you gotta be good with Jesus, then you don't have to worry about ol' Scratch."

I can remember she used to call the devil "Scratch" because it's the first time I ever heard it.

I'm still freaked out to this day about that episode.
My cousins and I still talk about it.
And another reason I don't go into the woods very much at night.

When I was a kid my friends family lived across the street. The dog (Snoopy) would roam the neighborhood and the dad (Poppy) would always call her in for the evening and close the gate.
Poppy died of cancer one summer and my his son, myself and another friend spent all day riding our bikes up and down the street. Well my friend, Poppys son, had to go in to eat so me and my other friend were waiting by the fence for him to come out so we could ride again.
The fence angled toward the street so the gate would swing open without any help. This particular day the gate was opened the way gravity would take it toward the street. My friend and I were talking and Snoopy comes jogging up and goes in the gate...then the gate started to close....the horseshoe latch lifted up on it's own and when it got to the pole it came down....closing the gate...with Snoopy inside. I asked my friend if he just saw what I saw he said yep, I asked what we should do and he said let's go ride.

Poppy wanted his dog inside the gate for the night and wasnt done doing his evening ritual. I still talk to both of those friends and the guy who was with me still remembers what we saw.

I remember reading this before (Creepy Thread IIRC).

The, “Say that stuff about Jesus again!” part made me smile/chuckle each time. I may be off-base, but I’m guessing your cousin wasn’t as frequent a churchgoer. In that moment, you were the leading authority on His power. Your cousin didn’t stop to question why. He just knew you guys needed 10 more CCs of “Jesus”, pronto. There were no non-believers on the bike path that evening.

I think I posted this in the creepy thread, it was a long time ago and I never followed up on it at the time.

I was sickly as a child. Not deathly, but I had moderate health issues. Several minor surgeries by the time I was 8. After one of these, I was recovering at home. I was around 6 at the time, so I had a rather early bed time, typically around 8. Seeing as I was on the mend, my mom had let me stay up and sleep on the pull out sofa in the living room while my younger brother slept in our shared room. Our house growing up was small, built in the 70's. Ranch style with a basement.

The east side of the house was both our bedrooms that butted up with one another, doors to both, and a bathroom were all in a small hallway, if you could call it a hallway that adjoined the living room. My mom had gone down into the basement to do laundry. My dad was asleep in his room, you could hear him snore from time to time. My brother was asleep also, he was 4 at the time and never got up in the night without you knowing it, he was terrified of the dark.

A couple minutes after my mom went downstairs. I was watching the TV sitting on the sofa facing the hallway to the rooms. I saw a tall figure step out of my bedroom and stop in the middle of the hallway, it was facing the bathroom. I froze. I starred at this thing. It was tall, a little over 6 feet. Darker than dark, the only way I can describe it is moonless night space with no stars, liquid black with no shine. Almost like it absorbed light. It had a very well defined outline. You could make out details in silhouette, whatever it was was wearing a uniform, like an old WWII uniform with a hat. Kind of like the police officer on the Monopoly board. When it looked forward away from me, you could make out the face in outline, but when it looked at me, nothing. There were no eyes, no facial features like you could see from the side, but when it looked at you it looked through you. You could tell it was looking at you with purpose. Our gaze met for a moment, even if I couldn't see its eyes. As it stepped out, it stopped, looked over at me, and it froze for a second, slightly taken aback. I could only assume because it didn't expect to see me there, awake, starring at it in terror. After that moment, it looked down as it pulled a pocket watch out of it's left breast, looked at it, then back up at me, then back at the watch. Placed it back into its pocket, and walked nonchalantly into the bathroom and disappeared.

I sat there for a solid minute stunned, attempting to process what the hell it was I saw. I thought it may have been my dad fucking with me, but this thing was taller than my dad by about 4 inches and was thinner. I got up, checked the bathroom, nothing. Empty. Checked my room, brother was sound asleep in the bottom bunk. Heard my dad snoring through the closed door to his room. I ran downstairs. Hid under the ironing board terrified. My mom told me there was nothing, and that I was scared by the television.

That was the only time I ever "saw" anything at my parents house. The basement was creepy as hell. You never wanted to be down there alone. It was half finished, and had the worst energy and vibe. You always felt like you were being watched down there, sometimes to the point of triggering a sympathetic nervous response. It was also not uncommon to hear footsteps walking through the house and up the stairs at night when you knew everyone was asleep, or when you were home alone. Items would also disappear from time to time and show up, sometimes weeks later in the most off the wall places. Our dogs would never get upset, but you would see them stare and track things that we couldn't see. As far as I know, nothing bad happened in that home.

Edit: Bad MSPaint, not to scale. Distance between me and whatever the hell that was was approx 12 feet.

3 or 4 years ago. I let the dogs outside, the moon was almost full that night. My pyrenees walked to the edge of the deck then stopped, cocked has head sideways, kinda 45 degrees, and was looking at something hard. I looked where he was looking, didn't see anything. All of the sudden he took off down to the corner of the fence line where my shed is at. My GSD followed right behind. As soon as they got down there, they both started barking at something, but I still didn't see anything. I didn't have a flashlight or anything with me. About 2 seconds later, a short black shadow thing darted across the fence line behind the shed.( well lit by the moon) It was fast, and never made a sound. I thought, WTF was that! I walked around the side of the house to see if maybe something was there that had projected a shadow like that, nothing. Walked down to the corner of the fence, nothing. It was weird

I'll post this here just because it's probably the best video of a full body apparition I've ever seen.

Fake or not?  I don't know.  The figure is transparent and doesn't make a sound.  Could be some sort of projection, but if it's authentic....

I also posted this in the "UFO's are Demons" thread:

When I was around 13 years old, my younger brother and I used to share a bedroom.  His bed was nearest the window.  Mine was closer to the closet.

One night as I was lying in bed, not really sleepy, but facing away from the window, I perceived that "something" was watching me through the window.  At first, it was trying to put it into my head that it was a "space alien."  Yes, that exact phrase was being put into my head.  I think the creature was trying to convey this in terminology a 13-year-old in the late 1970's might use.  It sounds hokey, but it literally was projecting the term "space alien" into my head.

Trouble is, I wasn't buying it.  And it could tell I didn't believe it.  Very quickly its demeanor turned to one of utter, unadulterated, absolute, pure hatred.  The hatred this thing projected toward me is very difficult to describe in intensity, other than to say if you could picture all the horrors of Hell suddenly embodied in an entity standing mere feet from you then you have a tiny idea of the intensity of the feeling.  I was utterly terrified.  It kept putting into my head "if you look at me I will kill you."  I was shaking and sweating I was so scared.  I prayed to Jesus as if I were facing a grizzly bear.  I honestly don't think I could feel the same terror toward a grizzly bear that I felt toward this thing.  It was that bad.

Clearly this was more than an "alien."  It was obviously a demonic entity, and it was angry that I had not been deceived by its attempt to portray itself as an alien.  I don't know if it was going to stage a "fake UFO abduction" or was laying the ground work for future encounters, or what.

My prayer worked, and I felt it slowly recede from the window.  Note that I didn't just "feel better".  I felt it leave as if someone was drawing back a curtain.

I have encountered other evil entities over the years, but that was the only one that masqueraded as an "alien."

That was my first bona fide evidence that the so-called extraterrestrials may in fact be demons.

A few years ago I experienced the Hat Man.

I woke up with sleep paralysis one night, room was dark, and there was an even darker figure standing in the corner of my room.
The figure had a long trench coat and a flat brimmed cowboy hat/ top hat.
I kept trying to reach for my bedside gun and flashlight but couldn't move. The figure just stood there. I have no idea how long, felt like minutes when in reality was probably only seconds.

The next morning I did some research and apparently I am not the only one to experience the Hat Man. It's the only time I have experienced anything, and apparently my brother has experienced the exact same thing multiple times.

Weird stuff.

I think I put this in the old thread about creepy things, but I'll tell it again.

It was probably about 1987 and I was taking my date home from the movies. A few miles from her home there was a turn-around spot toward the top of a hill with woods along the edge. We had some time before she needed to be home so we went there to "park". We had been there before, and it was a good place to keep an eye out for other vehicles since it had a nice view of the one lane gravel road.

I had a bad feeling all that evening after the movies...a sense of foreboding perhaps? I don't know how to describe it exactly...just a really, really bad feeling. In reality I didn't want to "park" because of this feeling, but hormones over-ruled that bad feeling I was having.

We drive-up to the spot like normal, I turn around and backup. The car was a two-door '75 Chevy Malibu, I shut it off, put it in first and all of a sudden the back bounces like it went into a deep ditch. My first thought was I somehow managed to get the tires near a drop off or something and it rolled in somehow, but there really wasn't a place for that to happen. The area was mostly flat with gravel. She and I look at each other and it does it again. At this point I know it's not a pot-hole or ditch and I better get out of there. Amazingly enough the car started the first time and I leave spinning gravel. I have the memory of briefly looking in my rearview mirror and seeing a big, black shadowy shape.

We go a few miles without saying a word and she says she had a bad feeling all evening. I told her I did as well. I took her home and went to my grandparents where I was staying. All the way back to their home I had a terrible, sickening feeling...like something was in the backseat of the car with me that I couldn't see. I don't know how to describe it...like the air was filled with something you couldn't see, smell or hear, but you could feel and the feeling was that of deep dread, hopelessness or harm, maybe like feeling you knew you were going to die a horrible, painful death and there was nothing you could do about it. After all of these years I still can't put it into words. I have never had that feeling before or since...

I don't really buy any of this crap but this is a good story.

My wife and I often heard a "THUMP' from upstairs in our house, which was particularly noticeable before we had kids. We would rationalize it as the cat jumping or knocking something over.

One weekend my wife went out of town and I had food poisoning and was alone with the cat. I was sicker than a dog. I felt awful and sat on the couch watching TV most of the night, feeling miserable. Pretty late at night I hear the "THUMP!" from upstairs and thought "God damn cat" then I hear "Meowrrr!?" and realize the cat is sitting next to me and looking upstairs at where we both heard the noise. It was too late in the year for snapping nails, there was no wind for it to be anything banging against the house.

I went upstairs and looked and didn't see anything. The cat usually follows me around like a dog, but I got done looking around upstairs and no cat. I go back down and the cat refused to leave the couch and go upstairs. I was pretty sick but the sun rose with me having fallen asleep on the couch with all the lights on and a shotgun on top of me. The cat was awake and looked like he had been up all night hiding behind me on the couch.

Forgot the worst one I had.

We used to snowshoe into the old forest service cabin. 3 miles in from the road in winter. We’re alone except for cross country skiers and some snowshoers during daylight.

1-2x a week a snowcat grader would come through the road/winter trail, but you could hear him a mile out.

Every time I’m outside I’d feel someone watching me from the attic window. Look up and feel them staring at me. But just inside enough that the light didn’t hit them.

Went into the back bedroom (cabin was basically 1 bedroom, the living quarters and a kitchen area. Zero electricity or water) and every hair on my body stood up. Closed the door and said nope not sleeping in there.

Over the next 2 days I faintly here a little girl playing and giggling. My wife hears odd noises as well.

We head home and forget about the weird shit.

Next year we’re back in the cabin. Same shit.

Year after we’re back, except when we’re asleep I feel something bump into my left elbow(wife’s sleeping against the wall on my right). I open my eyes but it’s beyond dark in this place. I hear breathing to my left and something nudges my elbow again. I feel anger, I feel like it’s telling me to gtfo.

I reach under my head and grab my G23 w/ light and torch the room.

I feel it leave the room, but still feel the anger.

I check my phone and it’s 3am.

Wake up the wife and tell her it’s go time.

We’re packed and dressed by 315am.

Fire put out, ashes taken out(important in a min) and lock up the cabin.

I tell her after we’ve cleared the area why in God’s name were snowshoeing home at 330am in 15f.

She said she woke up feeling scared and felt we should leave.

Few years later the cabin burned down when someone failed to clear the ashes out of the fire and I wonder if they got the gtfo wake up call I got.

We then got stocked by a cougar for about a mile

Oh and the journal/log book was full of “we heard voices” there’s someone upstairs shit.

Which my wife found on our 2nd trip there

It wasn't a mini-mag.  It was a click on/off button (on the body, not tail cap) that was bought new that day and then brought by someone in the group, not supplied by the place.

They said they laid it on the table while it was on and asked if whoever could make it roll.  Since it was round that would be the easiest.  It didn't roll but it turned off.  They asked to turn it back on and it came back on.  They called us over and my gf started recording.  There's a second part to the video but the clip I posted is better.

I know mini mags were popular to try to get responses years back. I just didnt like the lack of consistency in operation.
Thats good response on a on/off flash light.. weird that it wouldn't roll it.
Did you guys run and IR/thermos and get any swings?
What about on your RF /emf meters? Swings or pretty consistent levels?
What's the deal with knowing who the spirit is. Someone a medium/sensitive in the group or location history?

Sorry for the questions, i enjoy seeing good results during investigations.

My wife is the ghost magnet, but I have had a few run ins with the persistent ones.

When I was 10 or 11, my dad and I spent a week with his parents. We went fishing every day. It was awesome, especially considering my father was one of those guys who didn't have time for his kids. Grandparents lived in a trailer that they had bought new. It had two bedrooms, one in the front, and one in the back. Dad and I slept in the back room on twin beds.

One night I was laying in bed watching dad snore loudly. Everyone went to bed as soon as it got dark and I wasn't tired. I was laying on my side, with the window at my back. Bright moonlight filtered into the room, so visibility was pretty good. The blanket was on my body, covering everything below my neck. Very slowly, I watched as the blanket began to lift from the edge of the mattress. A bulge formed in the shape of an arm reaching under the covers toward me. Right before the unseen hand could touch my body, I took my left arm out from under the cover and placed it over the bulge. It collapsed like nothing was there. I rolled over and willed myself to go to sleep.

While I personally have never had any experiences, I absolutely believe this stuff is real. My BIL and sister have had several things happen, my BIL in particular has seen and experienced stuff since he was a kid.

A few years back they were living in an apartment in GA that seemed to have some ghostly residents. One afternoon they had both been napping in their bedroom for a while, BIL got up and was out in the kitchen getting food or something and as he was turning he saw out of the corner of his eye what he thought was my sister standing right outside their bedroom door. Not looking over there, he said something to her but didn't get any response, so he turned around to look at her and no one was there.

At that point he was like wtf, so he walked across the living room to see what she was doing and got to their bedroom to see my sister still asleep on the bed. They had a few other weird things happen but that's the one I remember the most.

I went down one year over Christmas with my other sister to see them, one day we were sitting in the dining room eating lunch and actually talking about ghosts and the stuff they had happen in that apartment when out of no where one of my niece's toys in the bathroom started making noise. We had all been sitting there for a good 30 minutes and no one had been in the bathroom for at least that long. Crappy chinese toy? Maybe...but we were all a little freaked, mainly because we had just been talking about creepy stuff

My sister had another more intense encounter last year when she was staying in a haunted hotel, I'll get a refresher on the details and post it up too.

Until I was 8, I could lie in bed and see the house's front door.   I would awaken after everyone was asleep, and I would frequently see shadow people come in through the door.  Usually they stood around in the living room, apparently talking to each other.  Occasionally they'd come stand around my bed and look at me.  I became an expert at not moving.  Of course, no part of my blanket could hang over the edge of the bed, either, because of what was under the bed.

When our oldest was about 6 mos old, we were into new age stuff--Edgar Cayce, specifically.  We'd put him to bed, close the door, and we had about a week of him suddenly screaming bloody murder.  I'd open the door to the dark room, and could see a dark cloud over him.  I would say what we'd been told to say--"If you come in the name of Christ, you are welcome here."  It would leave.  Probably happened 5 or 6 times, then never again.

With our second child, different house, same age range, happened once.

Third child, never happened.  Then we found Jesus.

We were at a church that used an overhead projector for some of the song lyrics.  One Sunday morning, there were two "darknesses" up by the lyrics.  I was confused, because good guys wouldn't be black, and why are bad guys in church?  Oh well.

Was with some friends and we decided to visit the haunted cemetary near town. There was a long drive to the cemetary, and you had to pass a home to get there. The cemetary was private property, and legend had it that if the nearby homeowner caught you in the cemetary he would chase you out with a shotgun.

Well, we drove past the small road and decided to do a loop around the property to see if perhaps we could walk across a field to get there and bypass the neighbor's house altogether. We didn't find another way in, so we pulled back to the dirt road and we're debating whether to walk or to drive to the cemetary gates. As we were discussing it, what sounded to me like a car door slammed right behind us.

Now this wasn't scary at all, it was more of a "well, that's the end of that" and I turned around 100% expecting to see a deputy walking up to tell us to get lost. But nothing was there. Absolutely nothing behind us but darkness. We even got out and looked around, but there was absolutely nothing around.

We ended up aborting the mission, feeling like we were already busted. It wasn't exactly creepy, just completely unexplainable. Never did make it into that cemetary- still want to!

Another time, a friend and I were working in the local park. This park was not in a great part of town, and a little girl had actually been abducted, murdered, and dumped in the park a few years before. We worked in the park all the time and never experienced anything creepy. We even mushroom hunted on our lunch breaks. We were extremely familiar with the park.

We were out working/ exploring one day when we came to a spot where the air felt extremely heavy and eerie. It was indescribable- it just felt wrong and we decided to get out of there. We found a main road and followed it to get back to our work trucks and the road was barricaded. Turns out, the barricades were installed shortly after the girl's body was found in an effort to keep people out if the area. We surmise that we were right near where the poor girl was dumped.

That was the only time in my life I've ever felt the sensation of death and despair in the air. It was extremely heavy and I never returned to that section of the park.

Was staying at Ballys in LV. I was awakened out of a sound sleep around 2AM by the overwhelming smell of acrid black smoke.

When I turned the light on I expected my room to be full of smoke. Nothing....felt the door and it was cool but expected to see smoking billowing down the hallway...nothing.

The next day I found out that Balleys was occupying the old MGM Grand!

Okay, this is not my personal story, but my sister's.

WTH, might as well share though.

When my maternal grandmother was alive she was known in our family by a very distinctive nickname that we all used for her.

It was not a very common nickname and certainly not something that you would just pick out of thin air at random.

A year or so after she died, my sister and my BIL were sitting in their living room one evening, when their youngest boy, my nephew, who was just a toddler at the time, was playing on the floor nearby.

Suddenly the boy just stopped what he was doing, got an odd look on his face, and started pointing into thin air like he was seeing something that no one else could see.

Then he looked over at his parents, made a big smile, and, while still pointing at "nothing," started saying one word over and over, several times.

The word?

Yep.  You guessed it.  His deceased great grandmother's nickname, which he had of course never heard before.

My sister claims she nearly fell out of her chair.  Creepy?  Oh HELL yeah!

My wife used to work in a regional hospital on the orthopedic floor but it was a catch-all for preop and postop patients, overflow for BMU, emergency ect. She told me there was one room on her floor that shit happened all the time. Light turning on and off, equipment during on and off, TV, door slamming, ect. She told me that soooooo many people had died in that room. In fact after a while people who weren't expected to recover were normally wheeled into that room. Many of the nurses hated to go in it. Many times she would make another nurse come and help her and she would do the same for others should she be required to tend to a patient in that room. She said there was such a creepy vibe to that room like one of doom or great sorrow.

She made me swear to her that should she ever get admitted to never allow them to put her into that room!
