Older TPGBlack slick carrier with L210 plates and a Ferro Concepts triple pouch with two rifle mags and a TQ and spare flashlight shoved in the third pocket.  About as simple and light as I could get while keeping it inexpensive.

How much does all of that weigh?
View Quote

@PMB1086

Not sure but after going from 7.2 lbs per plate (my old High Comms) to 3.9 lbs per plate, it isn't that much. I don't have crap mounted in every PALS loop... In fact, I would argue that I have a "light" sustainment setup. A micro admin panel above the mags that holds a pen and notebook, only 3 mags tucked into the kangaroo pouch, a radio, IFAK and a hydration pouch and bladder weigh next to nothing (empty). Also have a super light Blue Force Gear 7.62 pouch on the strong side cummerbund for storing my smartphone. The only semi bulky item is the 1/2 empty dangler.

The use case would be for full day sustainment in SHTF/severe social unrest where certain groups would be tasked with guard duty (like a neighborhood watch).

I've run this setup for a couple extended outdoor events and I wear it around the house at least two times a week for about 4-6 hours at a time. No issues with comfort or mobility. No waking up sore a day later.

I'll weight it this evening and report back.

That's twice you have called me out on its cleanliness. Do I need to check in with you every time I run it out in the woods so that we can both track the amount of dirt it has accumulated?

Plates and a slick front with velcro.  If needed I have 2 placards.  one for 5.56 and one for 7.62.  Each placard has 2 rifle pouches and 2 pistol pouches.  Everything else is on a belt.

Just an observation, you didn’t respond last time and I was still curious with all your questions about updating a bunch of stuff when it looks like it rarely, if ever, gets used for anything.

Hell, if I’m wrong and you actually get out and use/train in it, good on you.  Didn’t know it would strike a nerve like that, though.

2 rifle mags, NAR first aid kit with TQ, juggernaut phone carrier.

I really thought the phone carrier was brilliant: Who would I be keying up on my baofeng? It makes way more sense to have a phone to call the cops if shits going down at my house. Plus I can access home cameras, various chat apps, control lights around my house, etc. Having got it now, I feel pretty dopey about it. It doesn't make practical sense to keep my phone on my PC, it really needs a dedicated phone if I'm going to go that way. No way to easily charge the phone either. I'm still not sure what I plan to do with it.

What's your min? AR15 and pistol mag pouches? Tq or full fak? Multi tool pouch? Flashlight pouch?

Edit: plates and flag patch are given

That's me. So, I decided to not waste the money on a plate carrier at all. The concrete walls and steel doors of my condo are bullet resistant.

Patches, duh...

Seriously though. Level IV ceramics F&R, 3a soft armor in the cummerbund, 3-30 rounders, Inova MicroLight (chest) and a couple IR chemsticks in the webbing on the back, oh IR US flag patches f&b. If I'm shooting w/ the guy's under NOD's I stick a MS2000 on the front mag pouch also.

If it's just something for bumps in the night?

Plates or soft armor or nothing depending on budget and shit

That's it. Tailor it to your use, put what you need on there based on your own experiences wearing and practicing with it in the scenarios you imagine using it for. There's a reason pouches and such are so easy to add and remove these days.

Great garbanzo beans! That is way above my price range.
Mine is an ex AirForce PC, (free, from an awesome ArfCom'er), with two Hesco/High Ground 4401s, ($400), kangaroo triple mag pouch, (free from another awesome ArfCom'er), three MagPul Gen 2s, ( $38), left side cummerbund with generic dump pouch, (free from a buddy), with NAR Individual Aid Pouch, ($15 ) inside with compressed gauze, ($3), and a nice red cross patch and blood type patch on the front,($6 for the two, local surplus shop), CAT, ($29) , cummerbund right side Tactical Tailor Admi Pouch, (free, same buddy with the dump pouch, two Gen 2s, ($24), and a pen I borrowed from work.
If I get some bucks I'll change the el cheapo individual aid pouch with the Min IFK from NAR with Combat Gauze, sells for $115. But until then, my mixed bag cast off/low cost gear will have to work for me, for a price tag of $515 out the door. Not planning on running LRRP, also fat old man who just wants to be left alone.
