The most recent episode of Shangri-La Frontier looks like it was taken straight from the Vault of Glass in Destiny, including the convoluted path they had to follow. It definitely had a very Vex-like feel to it.

Oh, I have ZERO faith in the Netflix live-action casting a solid Nico Robin. The casting for the teenage Nami should have been a layup, but instead they cast a woman in her 30s who looks it (to make it worse, the flashbacks showed the character is supposed to be 17-18 years old on the show). So if they botched an easy casting like Nami, there is not a chance in hell they are going to do a 6’ 2” sultry Nico Robin justice. However, this is for the anime. |

The Eminence in Shadow:
Remember Nishino Akane, the child actress/kidnapping victim from Episode One? Is Claire Kageno supposed to look like her, or am I seeing things? And how stupid do you have to be to walk home alone after your bodyguard fails to pick you up from school and doesn't answer his phone? Wouldn't she call parents/servants/police instead of just going for a stroll in the dark? |

No, I don't remember anything from episode one. I can't even seem to piece together what happened in this latest episode. Lemme get this straight... Click To View Spoiler Mordred, the evil bastard who decapitated Mr. Pervy Asshat for his screw-ups, takes time out from controlling Mr. Ragnarok Black Rose in the Sky Monster, in order to spin a tale of multiple worlds that occasionally cross paths, cross-pollinating each other, killing dinosaurs, bringing new magics into the world that previously did not exist, depositing humans in their place, (sorry, Atlantis, it was nice knowing you), who become uber-intelligent as they get fruitful and multiply, except that Rose's father Mr. King of Kings didn't pass that message onto his rebellious daughter, who spoils it all by thinking that she is someone special to whom the rules do not apply, except that somehow he's forced to pause his story because Mr. Shadow appears out of nowhere to do the impossible to Rag Mr. Narok, tearing the giant robot apart limb from limb and deflowering the black rose, which infuriates Mr. Mordred, especially because one of those limbs falls from the sky and whacks him upside the head, so he grows some wings and a tail and a new facelift and attempts to fight Mr. Shadow in outer space, except that the clever Mr. Shadow has come equipped with super atomics, which blast the hell out of Mr. Mordred, to the delight and awe of his minions, only to reach out to touch the black hole that appears in its place, getting sucked into a different world just in the nick of time to beat the snot out of Mr. Brainless Thug, who is about to deflower (or, maybe eat), the foolish night-walking princess. Did I get that right? Yeah, I'm confused as hell. |

Haro Aso (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and Alice in Borderland) definitely has a type.
- Pretty face - Short, dark hair - Very athletic - Likes to run - Frequently wears athletic clothing that shows off her stomach and/or tits during a TEOTWAWKI situation That similarity is more than okay with me, but I hope Zom has a better ending than Alice had. |

View Quote Click To View Spoiler I love the High School student age 24 was found dead. Like that's a totally normal thing to be 24 and in High School. There were 3 different people, Juniro Kumogakure which said he was his brother and wears glasses, the girl that appeared in bed Toichi Kumogajure which I'm guessing is his sister and then there's a "Juro" which he calls ten-san. I don't know if there's any meaning in the names, Juni is 12, Ichi is one, Kuro means black, Juro rhymes with kuro and I have no idea what that means but ten can mean heaven or maybe just 10 in English? Are they clones? |

Does anyone have any opinion(s) on Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts?
The first episode was okay, but I am doubtful that the premise can be stretched out to 24 episodes and still be entertaining. Attached File |

History indicates that Conservative Americans only have three speeds: silence, peaceful protest rallies, and Total Industrialized Warfare. They excel at the latter.

So if they botched an easy casting like Nami, there is not a chance in hell they are going to do a 6’ 2” sultry Nico Robin justice. However, this is for the anime. Yeah, Nico Robin is definitely Best Girl. However, for that anime, that’s not saying much considering her only competition is a greedy, selfish, mentally abusive, physically abusive, sociopathic cunt. |

I don't remember specifically, other than perhaps because the 'Beauty and the Beast' genre doesn't particularly interest me. I watched entirely too much of The Ancient Magus' Bride for no good reason. |

Lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vffu6FG4YP4 Lackadaisy is/was a webcomic prior. The art was very well done and location/style well researched (including the guns) and the story was fairly interesting too. The comic updates fell off quite a few years ago when the author started working on getting animation stuff done and probably other things. A bit disappointing, but understandable. The pilot was pretty decent as well. https://lackadaisy.com/ (I couldn't get the site to pull up right now) Holy shit I remember that comic. I thought the art looked familiar. FWIW, I noticed that when Hizutome-kun, the protag of Shangri-La Frontier (IRL within the show - his in-game character is Sunraku) wears a T-shirt in bed while sleeping or while playing VR games - and that T-shirt says KUSO on the front, on the back, and on both arms (at least). OK, so it's spelled with a dot in the middle, between the KU and the SO - but still, anyone looking at it would read it as KUSO.
'Kuso' in Japanese means 'shit'. The word can be used creatively as an interjection or as an adjective, to convey related feelings (such as damn!). But I'm wondering why he's walking around IRL wearing a T-shirt that says "shit" on it in bold letters. Yeah, a continuing theme throughout the show so far is that he is a master of so-called Kusoge (or 'shit games' or 'trash games'), those being the lower tier or cheap, poorly-made games, unlike the 'god-tier' games such as Shangri-La Frontier. But, WTH is he doing wearing a 'shit' T-shirt? (he wondered) Attached File |
