He’s a handsome princely kingish guy, powerful swordfighter equipped with an ancient, powerful magical sword, yet he’s afflicted by a curse. She’s a beautiful, ancient, lonesome and powerful witch, carrying some powerful ‘baggage’ that she picked up over those oh-so-many years of her lonely history, staying cooped up in her magical tower that she uses to toy with hapless adventurers, but she also knows how to remove curses, easy-peasy (well, maybe without that ‘peasy’ part). Oh, and she knows how to brew a really delicious cup of tea and enjoys putting on tea parties. They live in a land afflicted by powerful, monstrous, and demonic enemies and beset by mischievous, meddling witchy bitch witches as well as by a megalomaniac with kami-sama-scale evil ambitions. Will his royal studliness finally bed down the reluctant witchess? Or will evil reign triumphant? Stay tuned. Yeah, I actually enjoyed it. P.S. - It's supposedly getting a season 2. |

The dub of The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World has probably the worst voice acting I’ve ever heard for a male MC. It’s not uncommon for females to voice adolescent males in anime, but they usually at least attempt to sound like adolescent males. This is simply a grown woman just straight up doing a grown woman voice for a 14 year old male character.
Making the casting decision even more baffling is the fact that the VA is so obscure that she doesn’t even have a wiki page. |

The MC is Hobin in the original Korean, but Shimura any time a character says his name. Localized names are fine, but at least update the sub for consistency! Speaking of incest... (were we?)
Click To View Spoiler In "The Irregular at Magic High School", season 3, ep. 13 - It was, shall I say, almost 'comical', to watch the profound concern that Miyuki voiced to her brother Tatsuya when she learned from him that one of the show's characters, Kudou Minoru (fellow student from a very powerful family) likely was the product of artificial insemination between biological siblings (probably followed by various 'enhancements' to increase his innate powers), thus he was arguably the product of incest, even if the artificial part may have made it less taboo than if he had been the product of direct physical intimacy between siblings.
Why would that be 'comical'? Because throughout the entire series, Miyuki has seemingly been courting oniisama with touching and other acts of physical closeness, constantly casting adoring bedroom eyes on him, flashing menacing looks and otherwise displaying intense jealousy toward any other female who dared to even hint at getting close to him, wanting to be with him at all hours of every day, including sleeping in the same bed - and so the suspicion of incest between them has always been a strong undercurrent throughout the show. But Miyuki was shocked, absolutely shocked, at the possibility that Minoru may have been the product of incest. Hmmm... |

I think that I've mentioned it before, but...
The Misfit of Demon King Academy has gone so completely off the rails (now in Ep. 22) that it's both absurd and absurdly funny. Click To View Spoiler I don't quite know how to explain it. I've only just started watching this episode, having pretty much forgotten where we are and how we've gotten here - but what I'm seeing is, what? A battle of the holy bands? With stupidly dumb lyrics - Ku-ikku, Ku-ikku. Ku-ikku... Ooh-ooh! - and with choreography to accompany it - it's seriously stupid and funny at the same time - so bad that it's good - it was so powerful a spell that somehow it managed to kill not just one, nope, not just two, nope nope, but actually three already dead popes (wut?). Anos, or whatever his name is at this point in time, is having the time of his life - doing, um, exactly what? I dunno, killing god or something - but whatever it is, it's really really catchy. WTF? Followed by the holy spell of 'relyme' where everyone gets naked, Anos and all of his cute - I dunno - acolytes? Friends? Fellow classmates of the female persuasion? They're floating with him, but they have to all get really really close to him for it to work properly. Gotta admit that he's still got game, even after having been dead for two thousand years, IIRC. WTH is this all about, anyway, oniichan? |

Toyota to sell 860 Panda Truenos in the USA.
https://www.caranddriver.com/toyota/gr-86 Hold on to your tofu folks, because Toyota adds a special Trueno Edition to the GR86 line for 2024. A tribute to the AE86 Corolla, made popular by the automotive anime Initial D, the special edition adds a performance package with Sachs dampers and Brembo brakes. Toyota plans to send just 860 (see what they did there?) Trueno Editions to the U.S. market. The suspension and brake upgrades for the Trueno Edition models are also available throughout the GR86 model line for 2024. The Brembo brake calipers and larger-diameter rotors are dealer-installed options for GR86s with 18-inch wheels. Additionally, the stick-shift GR86 now comes with adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Why 860? Click To View Spoiler |

The New Gate, atrocious animation aside, was okay. Possibly enough so that I'd consider the light novels. The plot was interesting enough.
That said, it fits solidly at the lower mid tier of the trash anime spectrum. I don't regret watching it, but I wouldn't spend money to do so. |

Any opinions on Delicious in Dungeon?
I definitely can’t claim false advertising based on the title, but after two episodes it seems to be pretty much just a party cooking and eating monsters in a dungeon. I figured that would SOME of the anime, but I didn’t think it’d be pretty much ALL of the anime. Does it ever evolve beyond that? |

As expected, the season finale of Demon Slayer was very good and the best episode of the season (not exactly a high bar). However, it wasn’t even close to being enough to prevent this from being EASILY the most boring season.
Thankfully, based on how the season ended, in the next installment Demon Slayer will return to form. |

That may change in time, of course, but at least for now I will give it a chance. I don’t particularly enjoy rom-com sitcoms, which is what this appears to be so far - but maybe there’s more to it. |

I worked at a full service station in Florida once upon a time where the car would pull up and three of us would hustle out. One guy pumped the gas, another checked oil, coolant, battery, hoses, and belts under the hood. Air filter as well if there was time. Last guy would wash windows, check and (if necessary) top off the tires. Time was, an honest job wasn't anything to be ashamed of, and the termites hadn't yet sufficiently eaten away at the heart of America that a guy couldn't support a wife, a house, and a couple or three kids on such a job. And before you zoomers get all frothy, we lived with far fewer expenses because most of the shit you all consider mandatory didn't exist. |

History indicates that Conservative Americans only have three speeds: silence, peaceful protest rallies, and Total Industrialized Warfare. They excel at the latter.
