What’s the verdict of Jobless Reincarnation S2 Part 2?
Any better than S2 Part 1? I loved the first half of S1, but unfortunately the anime slowly started to change going from “90% fun and entertaining/10% depressing and/or boring” to “10% fun and entertaining/90% depressing and/or boring”? |

I've read I really enjoyed a few of the school episodes and, overall, the school stuff was watchable (though some of it was pretty boring). Unfortunately, that first 1/3 of Part 1 really brought down the average for me. |

The new code geass is okay, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original.
That said it has a good budget and the knightmare scenes are very good and much more kinetic than the ones in the original series, especially after they all started flying everywhere. |

Premise for neo britannia feels weak to me, even with the “wall,” the black knights got a transport sub inside. Yet they didn’t send in Kallen and an elite strike force, just a bunch of mechs? Also, the moment some douchebags claim that they are the new britannia, all the britannians turn into racist assholes again? |

Also, the moment some douchebags claim that they are the new britannia, all the britannians turn into racist assholes again? View Quote Yeah, the premise is poor, and Sakuya isnt a fraction of the leading man that Lelouch/Zero was. Zero's crazy gambits and theatrics seemed calculated (even if a sniper's bullet would have cleaned his clock a million times) but much of the Brittanian military seemed to have a notion of nobility between higher members, with duels and notions of honor constantly stated and requested. The capture of Zero was a matter of great desirability- Viletta saw it as a way to be made an actual noble. Suzaku was made a Knight of the Round. Killing him was never the greatest option for his enemies. Zero also hid behind hostages or put himself in visible locations where an assassination would have made him a Martyr. Still hammy and ridiculous, but calculated. Meanwhile it really doesn't make sense that Sakuya/Rose will just walk into a military garrison that knows it's under attack and hypnotize everyone with no opposition. They both had substantial plot armor, but Sakuya's is stupid, and Lelouch always had a plan on top of a plan with a plan underneath to cover his ass. The Neo Brittanians also seem generally incompetent. The Brittanians on the other hand were generally competent, and not all of them were mustache twirling villains- and they were shown to be heavily influenced by propaganda, making the flip flop of the Neo Brittanians strange in the wake of the Zero requiem, and the fact the Japanese again essentially rolled over and took an even more comically evil regime steamrolling them. But then again, the Japanese are still incredibly butthurt about Commodore Perry (going on 175 years now), and the entire Fleija scene from the original series is essentially Japanese dindu nuffin wank for getting nuked. They do love to present as innocent victims (with a righteous SAMURAI SPIRIT right under the hood). That said, robots fighting are always cool, it looks like Code Geass, and they're dangling the old characters right in front of us. I did a rewatch of the original series and I had almost forgotten how incredibly fun that series was to watch weekly. Even if you could guess what was coming next, you would never expect how crazy it would be. |

Could there possibly be a more confusing and more poorly written anime series than "TASUKETSU -Fate of the Majority-"?
That's a rhetorical question only - because the obvious answer is no, inasmuch as "TASUKETSU -Fate of the Majority-" is, without any doubt or possibility of arguments to the contrary, the single most incomprehensible series ever produced in the entire history of anime. If you've watched any part of that series at all, you know that I'm right. I've watched three episodes so far. That is three episodes too many. You thought that "Classroom of the Elite" was hard to follow, or that "The Eminence in Shadow" was confusing? Pffft... Not even in the same league. Attached File |

I've watched the first couple episodes of "SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary", on Crunchyroll.
It's... different, somehow. Hard to describe it, though. The plot unwinds at a leisurely pace, to put it mildly. We seemingly get to know the characters very well - but not well enough to dispel the underlying mystery of what it's all about and where it's going. They want to become 'ordinary'? In what ways have they not been 'ordinary' up to this point in their lives? I guess that we will find out, one small clue at a time. Is it a teen/high school romance? Not really, at least, not so far. Sure, they were childhood friends, which could effortlessly turn into a common trope - but it doesn't feel like the writers are going there with the storyline. Is it a 'slice of life'? Maybe, maybe not. A 'BFF slice of life' perhaps? But it seems to be more than that. As if it has been 'handcrafted' with care rather than being shoveled onto the screen. At least it's not an isekai. Attached File |

The live-action One Piece show on Netflix had a total layup with the casting for Nami. Unfortunately, they totally botched it by casting a woman in her 30s (who looks it) to play the teenage Nami. They didn’t even bother to age up the character on the show either.
My favorite character in One Piece is Nico Robin and a sultry 6’2” beauty is going to be a tough casting. And if they botched an easy casting like Nami, I didn’t have much faith that they wouldn’t botch the casting of Robin too. I have even less faith after seeing this: Attached File |

View Quote Quite nice to listening to a series during long commutes to/from work. And yeah, the dubs aren’t what they were twenty or thirty years ago, where they hired broke drama major college students and the occasional chainsmoking janitor as VA’s, with really terrible inflection, cadence, and random pauses that sound worse than fan abridged dubs. HK will probably break out the torches and pitchforks, but frankly, Monica Rial, widely considered the most annoying VA for dubs, isn’t half bad in the right roles. She’s a very good fit for Tomoe in Moonlight Fantasy, for example. I will admit she gets cast in too many roles that just aren’t a great fit, though. She loses a lot of points for being yet another “waaah, I was molestered!” Poundmetoo bitch 12 years after the fact, and blatantly lying to cash in. For anyone that didn’t hear about it, Vic got screwed, hard, by a bunch of lying bitches and then by the texas court system. Twice, to the tune of $300k. Suicide Squad Isekai continues to be a disappointing shitshow. It’s basically just B-list DC characters vs B-list DC characters, but instead of fighting in a city they are fighting in a castle or on a field.
It’s so boring that despite being the only anime I’m watching weekly this season, I went half a month without watching an episode and totally forgot about it. If it wasn’t for turning on HBO Max to watch South Park and seeing Suicide Squad Isekai on my “recently watched” list I likely wouldn’t have remembered it until someone else brought it up. |
