Donquixote Doflamingo is just the 2nd “Big Bad” of a One Piece Arc that I found very interesting and was curious to learn more about them. Man Wisteria's animation went from god tier in Ep 1 to trash tier in Ep 3. It's embarrassing. |

Also, while I could take or leave the character of Rebecca: I do love her gladiator attire. Correct. |

I just finished the Record of Lodoss War OVA, and while I do love myself some good high fantasy, but it really throws into start relief that the phrase "they had no budget for animation" can have two meanings.
In the case of Lodoss it means that they used every single money-saving technique possible in every single scene. Only animate the mouth Panning over a single larger, static background. Never animating more than one or two things on screen at a time. In the case of Demon Slayer, Akira, or S1 of One Punch Man it's "spend whatever you need to to make this look incredible". |

Alya-chan flirts in Russian
I was expecting a translation for last week's punch line. (why did Alya choose Kuze-kun for a running mate?) Didn't get one. Decided to do it myself. Best I can come up with is "To put it simply, because it's you" (in reality it should have been "because you're the only one who offered") I wasn't expecting a motorboat scene. But I do agree with the sentiment. Everybody likes tiddies. (not bothering to spoiler it because this didn't really happen in the classroom) Attached File Click To View Spoiler |

@arilulu14
One Piece question that contains a spoiler for the Dressrosa Arc: Click To View Spoiler While I find Doflamingo himself very interesting, the same cannot be said for his motley crew army of subordinates (outside of Baby 5). Mostly because of this, the fast pace I was flying through the arc slowed down as my interest overall was waning. And then Nico Robin (who is the #1 reason I watch One Piece) gets turned into a toy. After that I haven’t watched another episode in about a week with little motivation to pick it back up. So my question is, without going into specifics of “how” or “why,” what is the episode count I must struggle through before Nico Robin is returned to human form? |

I didn't know that she knew him by the Shou name, I figured they were on a first name only basis as little kids. Click To View Spoiler Enough things happened when they were kids, that it went well beyond two kids just playing in a park. Masachika didn't understand what was going on when she left (parents moving to Russia) and that misunderstanding ended up combining with the trauma of his parents divorcing, so he's got a lot to sort out on various levels, and Masha understands that to some degree. She also dearly loves her little sister and wants to see her little sister happy, so she is willing to stand aside if Masachika and Alya start dating. That doesn't mean she will always resist the urge to toy with him (because it's just such a treat for her to watch his cute face), or that she won't do something to advance her own candidacy if Alya holds back so much that it would be blatantly easy for anyone to come along and steal him away. Click To View Spoiler So I'm surprised that she might later confront Kuze-kun, bring up the past, and ask him to choose. I was not expecting that. I expected her to suffer in silence as the perfect big sister. Did Masha go on and on about her Japanese boyfriend for five years in Russia? Click To View Spoiler It wasn't so much asking him to choose, and it wasn't done in a confrontational way (more of a matter of setting things up where he could figure out who she was on his own, if he had two functioning brain cells, then gauging whether or not he still had feelings for her). The way she presented the choice aspect of it was more of a "I don't want you to give me an answer until you are certain, so don't tell me anything for now", while also telling him that if it is what he decides he wants, she would be more than happy to make her childhood first love into the love of her life, but if he got together with Alya instead, she would cherish those childhood memories and support his relationship with her little sister, so that two of the most important people in her life could be happy. If she and Yuki ever reach a mutual understanding, Masachika will likely be putty in their hands, as the brocon little sister and stereotypical laid back but caring older sister know him well enough to have their way with him. If my memory isn't off, there have been one or two brief mentions of Sa-kun in private conversations between Alya and Masha, but I don't remember anything really indicating just how much Alya actually knows about Sa-kun. But if Yuki ever sees the picture of little Sa-kun in Masha's locket, Yuki will probably piece it all together in a couple of seconds. |

Guess I'll show a little haul from Anime Matsuri 2024 here in Houston from a few weeks ago.
Was a good time. First time for the wife and I to go to a convention, and it was fun. We just made a Saturday of it for most of the day, didn't really realize there was panels and everything else going on - I believe most of it was scheduled on the app for the show (know for next time). Even the bit we did see was entertaining, decent cosplay and people watching. Ton of food trucks too. Was really disappointed in the "beer garden", only Asahi. Will be going to more in the future. Next time we'll board the animals and stay in one of the connected hotels to the convention, has a lazy river on the roof, so that'll be nice. Got to meet the owner from PandoraX, nice guy. |

Did the little Russian girl spend the entire month of August... Click To View Spoiler Attached File ...sitting on that dome waiting for Saa-kun to come looking for her? And did she do the same thing last year when she came back from Russia? I'm thinking Masha should have asked Shou Yuki when she met her at the start of the school year, but I'm not sure what Yuki would have said to "Do you know a boy named Shou Masaachika?" since they were supposed to keep their relationship a secret. And what would have changed? It was already half a year since Alya started to crush on Kuze, and months after Masha and her mother knew about Alya's crush. Anyway, Yuki made him take Masha shopping a couple of months later. Either way, Masha knew who Kuze was before Alya got around to telling him she loved him, but months after Alya and Kuze started to have feelings for each other. I had the timeline screwed up. I thought the grandpa who liked Russia was Shou, not Kuze. And I assumed he lost Maa-chan to the divorce because he quit going to the Shou house. I didn't realize she left the country before the divorce. |

View Quote If my memory isn't off, Click To View Spoiler Some of the little kids that currently use the park got to know her as a regular and when they saw her talking to Masachika asked her if he was the guy she had been waiting for. She apparently had been going there whenever she could around the schedule that they would usually meet in the past, then wait to see if he would show up that day. Kinda like the old saying of "If you love something, let it go, if it comes back to you..." Or since it's Japan, kinda like the dog statue and its story of how the dog patiently waited at the site of the statue for its master to return. If it wasn't obvious to her that Alya had a thing for him, she would have been non-stop lovey-dovey pampering him after he realized who she was. Since Alya does have a thing for him, she restricts the lovey-dovey pampering to when nobody else is around and she can't resist his cuteness. ETA: Click To View Spoiler As I said, if she and Yuki ever reach a mutual understanding...

View Quote Read Vol 1, but was tired and don't remember it well, might have to read it again. Vol 4.5 didn't seem to fit in, I saw a bunch of names I didn't even recognize, so I ignored it. I might have to search for cuck now that you mention it. Did a bunch of searching for stuff I was interested in. Keywords like "dog" and "shoulder" led me down quite a rabbit hole just reading random passages here and there, but the dog incident mentioned in the anime (the reason for my search) didn't come up until Vol 4. Speaking of Vol 4, wow, some stuff happens there. Click To View Spoiler The Hickey incident Click To View Spoiler
Alya and Kuze are playing a game of chicken on Kuze's bed, both trying to make the other chicken out and be the one to veer off course before breeding happens. Everybody on the first floor hears the rhythmic creaking of the bedsprings upstairs. Searching for thighs trying to find the morning surprise scene to make sure I remembered it correctly (wrong keyword, it was legs) I just found the ultimate ecchi scene on the seashore. Yuki would have loved to be there with a camera. Click To View Spoiler (Gosh, if she fell onto the rocks, everything would be a disaster-!!!) If she only got abrasions on her knees and hands, it would be fine. At most, she won't be able to swim in the sea anymore. However, if she falls in such a defenseless swimsuit, she might get a serious injury from a sharp rock. "Hugh!!!" Sensing danger, Masachika quickly extended his left hand, wrapped his arm around Alisa's stomach, and tried to restrain her from behind. Although he had just been told not to touch her, Masachika had no time to worry about that. But here he made some miscalculations. First, since they were both wearing swimsuits, his left hand that was holding Alisa's body couldn't grasp anything. Second, bare skin with salt and sand on it from the dry seawater, felt slipperier than Masachika had imagined. And the third... the stone under Alisa's feet suddenly collapsed with a loud noise as she slipped. Only the surface collapsed, but Alisa, who was standing on it, lost her footing. "Watch out──" Alisa's body slid down at a steep angle. However, there wasn't anything that could be held to hold her, and Alisa's stomach, whose frictional effect had been reduced by salt and sand, slipped through Masachika's arm. "── !?" Driven by the urgency of the situation, Masachika threw away the fishing rod that was in his right hand and wrapped his right arm around Alisa's stomach. Next, Masachika looked for a place where he could hold on with his left hand while putting the weight on his back. (──! Her armpit!) Instantly deciding that, Masachika raised his left hand and tried to insert his hand into the right armpit of Alisa. At the same time, he turned around and checked the area behind her back. (There were no stones or protrusions... Safe!) ... Indeed, if he just wanted to lift Alisa's body, putting his hand under her armpit might be the best solution. However, Masachika forgot. Before he could do that to a girl, he had to cross the obstacle .... Yes, he had to pass through a huge obstacle before his hand could get there. (Hmm?) As Masachika raised his left hand, his thumb sank into something soft and he could feel something pinched at his fingertips. Then, it immediately flipped over following the movement of Masachika's hand as well as Alisa's body. Immediately after that, Masachika's left hand was buried in soft flesh and a rope-like object was pinched in his fingers. (Hmmm!?????) By the way, at this point, Masachika still didn't know the situation accurately. What was in Masachika's mind was confusion at the unexpected touch and impatience at not being able to reach Alisa's armpit. Masachika was annoyed that his left hand was stuck on something and would not move, but after checking the security behind him, he grasped the thing firmly in his left hand to ensure Alisa's safety. "Ouch!" At that moment Alisa let out a small cry, but Masachika gritted his teeth without worrying about her and pulled Alisa backward with his body. "Arghh!" As a result of putting all her weight on his back without thinking, Masachika fell down hard. Even though he was prepared for it, since there was no cushioning in his thin swimming trunks, the pain he felt reached his brain, and it caused his vision to blur momentarily. In addition, the weight of someone falling on his thigh, making his leg feel crushed. "Fyuh~~! Haaa.. haa... haa... Alya, are you alright...?" While screaming at the pain tormenting his legs and buttocks, Masachika looked at Alisa who was in his arms... and he finally realized the situation correctly. His right arm was hugging Alisa's stomach tightly. It's not a problem. Alisa's buttocks and thighs were on top of his thighs. This was no problem either. There was a soft, rubbery sensation that came into contact close to his bare skin, but this was still tolerable. The problem was.... "Uoooww!?" "Wh-What---?!?" ... it was his left hand that grasped Alisa's right breast tightly. Her smooth bare skin pressed against the palm. The sensation of soft flesh deforming along the shape of his fingers, and the sensation of firmness and elasticity touching the base of Masachika's hand. "I'm sorry-!!!" "Ah--!" Upon realizing the situation, Masachika hurriedly put away his left hand. He removed the swimsuit top that was caught on his thumb and index finger and removed it from his hand. Thanks to that .... "!?" "~~~~~~~~~!!" Masachika could see everything. Well, naturally. As if replacing her swimsuit, Alisa's chest was hidden by Masachika's hands. Alisa screamed silently, her mouth gaped and she hid her breasts with her arms, she then stood trembling at Masachika's feet. "Die!!! Just die now!! Just die!" Then, with her face bright red with anger and shame, she kicked the legs of Masachika who was sitting on the ground. "Ouch that hurts!!! Sorry, I'm sorry!" No matter how soft the flip-flops she was wearing were, it would still usually hurt to kick them as hard as possible on bare feet. However, Masachika had no other choice but to apologize as the current situation was really his fault. Although it would have been enough if he had lightly touched her from outside her swimsuit, even though it was unintentional, Masachika had already put his hand inside Alisa's swimsuit and then squeezed her chest with all his might. No matter how you look at it from anywhere, it was enough to get him reported. Police officer, this person is the culprit. "Baka! Hentai! I told you it hurt! B-But you, instead of holding it so tightly...!" "Sorry, ouch!! My shin is hurting, you know!?" Perhaps her anger and embarrassment had increased, Alisa kicked and stomped on Masachika's foot while bursting into tears..... (Buhhhh! In my view, this is the equivalent to a gift!!!) Masachika tried to be a masochist while screaming stupidly in his brain at the barrage of violence that kept raining down on him, but unfortunately he was not enlightened enough to be able to feel pleasure in this situation. Instead, Masachika wanted Alisa to do something about her mismatched swimsuit before venting her anger by kicking him. Because the sight of Alisa, with her chest covered by her hands, was so voluptuous to the point that it was hard to see which way to look. When viewed from below, she could not hide it any more than he imagined, you know? "Huuu, Huuu, ughhh~~~~~~..." "No, that, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." Masachika apologized to Alisa, who looked down with teary eyes while making a sound that could not be described as a growl or a sob through her clenched teeth. Then, Alisa suddenly turned around and took a few steps before turning her back to Masachika and crouching down. "Umm, I really didn't mean to... No, yes. I'm sorry. I'm sorry..." He almost made an excuse, but he quickly reminded himself that it would be completely unethical and could only apologize repeatedly. However, not knowing what else to say, Masachika's gaze wandered everywhere. "...Masachika-kun." "Y-Yes!" "I'm going to fix my swimsuit first... so, hurry up and turn around." "Ah, yes..." |
