LOL at all the arfcom millionaires thinking that people making 50-100K are not paying any taxes.

We make too much to qualify. I don't need it. This is a rare instance in which I am OK with using Tax Dollars to help out people during tuff times.

If I got one and I don't think I will I would just apply it towards my quarterly tax payment so in a sense I'd be giving it back. As far as I'm concerned it's just them giving my money back anyway. I don't like to give them one penny more than I have to.
I haven't seen what, if anything passed or what the means testing on it is. |
|
No I won't refuse the check. I have principles but I am not stupid, I will keep it on ice until they raise my taxes to pay for all this shit, then I will use it to pay said tax increase.

As much as I pay in taxes, and as much ridiculous spending government does with it. I’ll take a small refund back.

If I get a check every nickle will go to paying other people to do their job or recovering lost money, if I have to float my renters in the coming days.

Not eligible. I'll be one of the lucky few having my wealth redistributed.

I'm opposed on principle, but favorable in practice.
Return a portion of my taxes? I'm extremely worried the funds will arrive just prior to the market bottoming, and I'll cash the check and invest every nickel in VEXAX, one of Vanguards mid and small cap admiral index funds. I know me, I've seen me do it. |

I am putting 100% of my check to a Geissele Super Duty rifle

hell no i wont refuse it. I am losing my ass right now and need some relief.
also there are a heck of a lot of people much worse off than me who are getting very desperate. |

Taking what they give, if anything...what difference at this point does it make !

If going off 2018 taxes, my wife and I should qualify. While I work for an employer, she/we own a small business and can use every dime the gov stole from us back.
|

We are all going to have to pay it back, with interest. It's just a loan you didn't apply for. Use it or don't. your still going to have to pay it back. It's not free or a hand out. It's a loan

For tax payers, it's just a return of your own money. It's not a welfare payment.
Just like in 2009. And since they are income testing it based on 2018 tax returns, we won't get it. Even though I've been unemployed since January. |
|
If they go off the 2018 taxes I won't get it, because I was still working at Charter making low 6 figures, also I had to cash out my 401K that year and made it look like I made high 6 figures, when I did not.
IF by chance I do get a check, I plan to cash it and save it. I will do my best not to spend any of it. I'll wait till the following year and see if they tax it, if they do I'll pay that back and use the rest on paying down debts or buying stocks. I don't see any better options. I figure as much as I've paid in over the last 20 years in taxes, SS and other BS, this is just them dropping a couple of crumbs and giving me a few cents of that back. |

Quoted: How is it hypocrisy? I don't see anyone getting a check saying it's fucked up, they're making all kinds of excuses why they "deserve" it. As usually many, including you on this board fail to understand why this is yet another blow to the nation our founding fathers built and envisioned. What the few people who understand what it means to be an originalist is saying is that this is yet another sign of how fucked up our tax system is and its use to cover up government fuckups and bribe demographics by stealing from others. It's not about whether you cash the fucking thing or whether its less than you paid in taxes, and that's why this scheme works. Because too many can't see past the troff when they're being allowed to eat from it. It's the same attitude out of ghetto people on welfare, the system is just fine when it is benefiting me, why change it. It matters fuck all if you're paying taxes or not. Or at least allow people to file for it that can prove circumstances like yourself? What a cluster fudge no matter how you look at it. |

Quoted: Which means you are paying even less into the pot than you already where while a certain percentage of your countrymen are paying yet even more in than their already disproportionate share. If I pay $20,000 a year in taxes because I am "a big earner" and you pay $10,000 because you're "a low earner" then I am already paying more into the system you are despite both of us being able to use it the same, I am already covering a disproportionate share. Then the Gov gives you back $2000 more meaning you only paid $8000 in that year I am still paying $20,000 in meaning my disproportionate amount INCREASES. "hurrr durr it's my money back" no, you're already not paying your fair share compared to others. The fuck is wrong with so many on this board that don't understand how progressive taxation is already unfair? You guys DO understand this is very much a liberal/leftist scheme right? You're buying into the class warfare shit with this? The whole tax system is fucked. View Quote I agree people who earn more do end up with disproportionate share and too much in the way of breaks and free shit goes to lazy, useless people. That doesn't change the fact about what good can happen with the money is likely more if it's out getting spent by people, rather than being wasted by government. So don't be thinkin I am going to feel particularly bad for you if you don't qualify, that's a sign of your success, yet you managed to feel bad and jealous about it. |

There’s a lot of folks in this thread virtue signaling about how those of us poors who are getting a check are leaches and FSA, oddly a large portion of them aren’t sporting an avatar.

You all still believe you're getting a large check?
2 trillion to adult citizens approx $2000 per citizen x 327 million citizens in ???? and $500 per child x 74 million (unless that has changed). Rough estimate is $750 billion of that will be spent and thats being generous. That is assuming that every single adult in the country who is a citizen gets $2000 and every child gets $500. Where does the other $1.25 trillion go, hmm? |

For every new dollar created out of thin air, your money becomes less valuable. Think of it as an inflation check and cash it.
