Something that can be concealed easily so I don't look like a combatant if I'm on foot.
Something that can be used effectively from inside a vehicle if that is the case.
Something with subsonic suppressed capabilities.

300 Blackout is obvious for shooting without attracting attention.
Sandman S
Aimpoint with magnifier
Probably a Sig Rattler but might go with a ~7" SBR

At the moment, this. However, once I have a bit more time behind my VHS-2, it might be that.

Whatever gives me the longest legs.

I’m too old to tango.

Lugging around a 30lb rifle sucks….but firefights without air support nor artillery does not sound fun.

Can't it wait until I've had my morning BM? Anyway - An AR worked well in 1969.

Does just fine today. Eagle Arms lower, rest of it is from a buddy's parts bin. ACOG. Has the pedigree of a yard dog.

18" 6.5 Grendel 1-10 x 24. Ammo would become an issue but 5.56 would as well, so ak rail with 3x flip magnifier and red dot would be in my pack.

I should have bought the LPR with Mod 3.1 rail I came across at the Dulles gun show in 2012. They are very nice rifles. I has ragrets.

A Steyr Scout rifle in .308, complete with 2,5X Leupold IER, Ching sling, the whole nine yards. After all, if there was ever a contrived scenario that called for one quick shot and running like hell, this would likely be it.

I guess I'll take the rifleman's Harley Davidson toolkit: Desert Tech M2 with .223 Rem, .338 Lapua barrels. If one won't fix the issue, the other will.

That or a YC9 with a shoulder stock made from wire hangers, sheet metal screws and silver solder (not mine, not exactly what I'm thinking but close).

If RFA is within a couple blocks I guess I could go with a Steyr HS50 M1 with suppressor.

My 16" LWRCI AR15 with 1x8 Nightforce ATACR, can, and a few extra 2032 batteries. Easy choice.

Light enough, reaches out far enough, gets in close enough, can carry enough rounds, and brings down anything within the ao for food.
