As for who I would want as my second if I was in command of a spaceship. Ivonava or Kif would be my top choices. Both seem to be highly competent and able to work with others.

Set was a tribute to FLW's textile block style as in Ennis, Millard, or Derby Houses, etc.

It's actually commonly done though most don't recognise the modern origins.

Garrus is pretty much the best officer a ship captain could ask for. He has command experience, is cool in bad situations, and is extremely loyal. He's also not afraid to tell you to stop being stupid, and can get you out of some pretty bad self-imposed situations. He isn't afraid to take criticism and change his views if he is shown to be wrong. He's an excellent shot, excellent gunner, excellent mechanic, and street-smart from working as a cop/vigilante in two of the craziest settlements in the galaxy (Citadel and Omega).

He's also a good friend.

He can tell whennyou're getting shytered, and tell you when to shyster. He''s got thst built in BS detector, so I'd know "trust, but verify", or "blast these fools!".

But I'd consider him more like Counselor Troi, as my intelligence officer. I'll amend my Dream Team list for Public Relations Officer and divide responsibilities between Elam Garak and Inara Sera.
