Not true.

A flat brim does not do anything about those "side rays."

And they don't fit right, unless by pure coincidence, that curved inner-edge of the brim just happens to match the curve of your forehead.

My ball caps are by no means flat brimmed, but they also are not so curved that it could wrap around a beer can (it looks just as dumb as a completely flat brim). A slight curve gives you the most sun blockage.

While on patrol in the S. Bronx about 30 yrs ago I called over a young black teenager to my radio car (patrol car) and asked him where he got that baseball hat with the brim on the side. He said "yo check it out" and slid the brim around to the front (where it belongs). He then murmured "stupid cops" as he was walking away lol..

I think the OP really borked the thread title. A baseball style hat has a "bill" and cowboy/derby/other style hats have a "brim". Flat bills are gay, and brims can take many forms.
