Remember when people used to cook? I remember. People accept convenience foods as normal, which goes hand in hand with accepting flab, obesity, and inactivity as normal. There have been threads here of people boasting that they've walked a mile, like that's some kind of accomplishment. This is why people in the US are fat and people from other countries not so much. It's not a conspiracy, it's laziness and stupidity. |

Two things this reinforces for me:
1) I've never felt like I've missed out by not owning a TV for the last 20 years. The more time goes by the happier I am with that call. Now that 75% of ads on the thing are paid for by pharma companies, that decision is pretty much set in stone. 2) I have zero desire to assimilate to the borg of the standard American diet / big is beautiful / better living through prescription chemistry. FuckAllThat.gif. I will continue to focus on being fit, growing my net worth, and living life through reality instead of screens. A good byproduct of this is that I get the companionship of the type of women I want vs settling for something like in the commercial. Yuck. |
