where do you shoot this in Switzerland, I had read on multiple occasions you can own full auto weapons but not shoot them, at least on a public range.  I assume militia service weapons are exempt.
View Quote
Well they're easier and cheaper to own than in the US, but their usage is more restricted. I have to apply for a permit from the local bureau of arms for shooting them, and then I rent a range for an hour or so after office hours.

So two more reasons to hate you, or did you get a Glock 18 to go with it too?

Seriously though, that looks like a lot of fun. Expensive fun. Can a regular Beretta 92 barrel fit a 93?

Yes and yes

I need to try this barrel with the suppressor one of these days

My unicorn pistol.
I will probably never get to see one, let alone shoot one in real life.

Hell, I would love if beretta would just make a semi auto clone of the 93R.

That pistol looks fantastic. I would love to shoot/own one.

Have you placed the selector in the middle position yet? Between the single and the burst positions. As i have heard that they are capable of full auto in that position. (not that you really need to with the G18)

Listen Mack..

Very Nice!! I've held one but never shot one.

Ok, now I hate you

ETA:  how useful is the foregrip thing?  Is it better to wrap your thumb in the trigger guard, or keep it outside?

No I haven’t and I likely won’t. And I don’t think it’d be good for the gun.

It’s very useful when you use the stock. The thumb goes inside the enlarged trigger guard.

Holly sh**, two of my favorites. I fired the Glock 18 @ Battlefield Vegas over the weekend. My opinion, those are the best sub-machine pistols made in the world.

What's the button behind the safety switch do?

The rearmost button/switch is the safety switch (pictured in the fire position).
The forward-facing switch (where the safety would normally be) is the fire selector.

Nice.

I've been shooting a converted G17 a little lately. Reports of it being uncontrollable are highly exaggerated. It's my favorite machine gun to shoot to date, and I've had experience with a few.

I get a couple rounds just off target with the first burst. The rest are center mass. That first burst is the most important, so that is a bit problematic

If I could have only one it would be a machine pistol of some sort...but the prices for even the most rudimentary of such devices here are ridiculous.

Wow.  Great guns.

The 93R is just what I need to balance my .44 Auto Mag.

Got one as well. But they’re very different animals

Maybe the similarity is the cost to feed, a few rounds of .44 AMP vs a few mags of 9 mm

The barrier to owning an AutoMag in the US is generally just money.  The 93R barriers are money, availability and the NFA.

Its a selfish fantasy that I hope Beretta would come out with a replica of the 93R that had the following features:

-  Semi or Semi and selectable to Binary Trigger
-  Detachable "Brace" with extension that folds like original 93R style
-  Angle fore grip as the original one was never truly "vertical"

As the 92 fades from favored service role I'd be hopeful Beretta looks to niche ideas like that.
