Just bought one. Supposing a few things - the finish holds up, the trigger feel holds up, and the texturing on the grip holds up, and these things consistently shoot as accurately as they are in the review vids, then this will probably go down as the best Gen 3 ever, including the Glock versions. This gun could easily cost $800, and be worth every penny, but they would sell way fewer, which would be a shame. Just to take a stock Glock Gen 3 and get it here (here being the RXM) would put you in at well over $1000 total when you include grip reduction/stippling, milling and drilling for optics, drop in trigger (trigger feels like semi-custom Gen 3 trigger, it isn't as good as a Gen 5 trigger, but it is better than stock Gen 3 and way better than Gen 4). There are so many thoughtful features on this that it is hard to imagine Ruger made it (and I am a big fan of Ruger). New shooters: This is a great choice. There is almost nothing you would need to upgrade or change, except potentially the sights. They are better than stock Glock sights, and they are great for optics, but if you are going to rock irons there are many better choices. And nothing about this gun needs to otherwise change, unless the shooter has huge hands. CCW: No brainer here. Everything about it is smooth and snag free, forward cocking serrations are great, sights are okay for irons, but I'd replace them with Ameriglo Agents or Trjicon's version. If you are going to carry an optic then the sights are excellent. In comparison to a Gen 5 19, you're into this for enough less to be almost halfway to an RMR, or get a case of 9mm. That is a pretty big deal. Certainly you are otherwise spending Shadow Systems prices ($800+) to have as good a gun with as good of features, and this arguably has a better slide design and grip design. LE: Great choice, totally future proofed with optics plates, and presumably different sized grips will be available in the future to adapt for different uses and hand size. Depending on agency budget, you could get this gun, a light, and a Safariland, for less than a Gen 5 Glock retails. At blue label pricing you are probably at a difference of $100 to $150, in the favor of the RXM. Now, the Glock Gen5 gives you interchangeable grips, a better trigger, and outstanding accuracy. I think this isn't as clear cut a choice, and with tens of thousands of rounds on a Glock Gen 5 19, I would tend to go in that direction were I looking to equip an agency. Of course the RXM doesn't demand an intermediary optics plate, which I think is important and I wish a large enough agency would demand a Gen 5 19 that is actually cut for the RMR footprint. The RXM's optics cut is a game changer and is hopefully copied by every other manufacturer as it allows you to direct mount three different footprints (D Pro, RMR, RMSC, or whatever the smaller one is). So I think it is a toss up here, but different grip modules could easily shift things definitively in the favor of the Ruger, by, for example, providing a lower with an even more positive built in magwell. Competition: A lot of the features seem driven by a design team that leans into competitive pistol shooting. That said, the rear of the gun is too truncated at the butt end for my tastes, very much an acknowledgement to the "you must be able to manually strip the magazine" crowd. I can tell I am going to pinch the heel of my hand while seating mags, and it doesn't seem to have an allowance to add a magwell (the magwell is already VERY well designed, except I think it needs to be about 1/8" lower on the butt). So I don't know that I'd grab this over a Gen 3, presuming that I was planning on investing the time and effort to get it ready for IDPA/USPSA. What would change everything is additional grip modules, especially if they release a 17 length module (for the 19 length slides). The RXM is very well textured, without having the weak, plasticky feel that comes with texturing a Glock. This feels like the polymer is either thicker, or stronger, or both, in a good way. A few well designed modules (or a separate full size Glock 17 version) and I think this could start taking Glock's lunch money on the competition circuit, where money isn't really an object. I will happily throw a G34 slide on a G17 size RXM (acknowledging that would be a new pistol, this is generally going to be limited to Gen19 slides because of the rail spacing), because the grip would be so much better. This will seemingly support aftermarket triggers, barrels, etc, the mag release is AMAZING, and I'm happy to see Glock finally having some real competition at its price point. |
| Just FYI for anyone mounting an EPS Carry. The locator pins are a little too tall to work with the Carry. Use the RMSc to Holosun K adapter that comes with the optic. Or file/sand the locator pins down just a little bit if you don't want to use the spacer plate. |

glock gen3 patents expired awhile ago. lots of glock gen3 clones started coming out awhile ago. I'm going to wait to see what other grip options come out and for someone to try other caliber gen3 slides on it (like .40 and .357). Only reason is I don't need the FCU bit yet (my 365 has only had one change and it was the WC grip I put on) and I can get glocks all day long at 4 bills. |

On a side note, ones of the smartest things about the RXM fire control group, the ejector is still a separate piece from the serialized part. Google 320 bent ejector and see how many pop up. The 320, APX, and Echelon all have the ejectors as part of the serialized fire control unit. Trash or bend that, and you FCU is SOL. From a design standpoint, Ruger did it right keeping everything like it is on a Glock, separate and able to be replaced if damaged or broken. That little thing there impressed me since if they thought of that, what else did they keep in mind when designing the RXM. TXPO |

I mistakenly posted this in the GD Ruger thread I moved the gen 3 Glock finger groove down so it does not go through my knuckle, can't get much more under the trigger area, getting close to the mag release, a little more room for my pinky on the grip the material does not sand very well with Scotch bright pads or discs, it gums up, had to file and sand by hand, I wonder how it will stipple ![]() Attached File |

I haven't done anything to mine as of yet. I'm waiting until I can get my hands on a black frame. Then I'm going to mod out the factory gray one with several ideas I have going on. I'll see what works and what doesn't. TXPO |

I was initially excited by this Glock clone, but that excitement is waning. At first I was excited by the (1) price ($499 MSRP, which generally equates a $399 pre-tax sale price), the (2) lack of a Glock hump, and (3) modular frame. Then I noticed it only comes with 2 magazines instead of the 3 magazines Glocks come with. I also remembered I have access to the Glock Blue Label program, so I can buy a 5th Gen Glock with 3 magazines, without MOS for $398. If I wanted MOS, it would bring the price up to $477. For an apple to apples comparison, the Ruger is only $64 cheaper ($399 for the gun+2 magazines + $14 for one extra magazine) than an equivalent Glock for me. Ruger needs to get their pre-tax price down to about $350 for me to be interested. I’ve already heard the Ruger MOS system allows for a lot of slop if the sight isn’t really snugged in. |

If you don't want it, don't buy it. But the magazines are really the silliest reason of all. Glock magazines are dirt ass cheap. Most people interested in this already have Glock magazines, or like me, picked up a G19 magazine (to backup my several G17 mags) because I would never use a Magpul magazine for serious use. I would rather use the sloppy RXM slide over a shitty plate system, any day. The standard sights on the RXM are also leaps and bounds better than what Glock gives you. If you think the Glock frame is the epitome of perfection, then there's really no reason for you to look at the RXM. The number one reason is to be able to change the grip to something you prefer. You could offer me a G19 MOS for the same price and I would pick the RXM, every time. Ruger did their homework, and they've seen what people like about all the other handguns on the market and they combined some of the best features. |

I’m pretty sure I said I liked the way magpul removed the Glock hump in the grip, and I liked the modular fire control unit. Again, chill out a bit, no need to be a keyboard warrior. |

How are the mags feeling when seated for those of you that have bought one? I handled one at a local shop yesterday and the mag rattles around like a maraca. Both with the slide forward and locked back, just handling the pistol it was noisy enough to catch my attention. Curious if it is as bad with a full mag seated. I liked the feel of everything else, but that mag rattle was pretty obnoxious. |

Originally Posted By Leucoandro: Is the rattle an artifact of the magpul brand mags? Do you know if Glock brand mags rattle in the RXM when empty? Glock mags fit better in my pistol than the included PMAGs. With that said I know there's some variance in Glock mags so that may not be the case for everyone. |
