Quoted: Do you not understand the ramifications of demonstrating to our next governor and state legislature that they can safely throw our gun rights under the bus to gain the votes of the gun grabbing liberals while still retaining our own ? A Republican Governor and a legislature consisting of a super majority of Republicans in both houses, have just enacted gun laws that can only be described as draconian and which have no grounding in the realm of public safety. Had Scott not been running for the US Senate those laws would have never even been considered. The reasoning for those laws being rammed down our throats in record time are purely for Scott's own political advancement among gun grabbing voters in our state, and if we don't push back against Scott, we become politically irrelevant and Florida becomes The Gunban State. View Quote As others have said, the right thing to do was to defeat a few of the state reps and senators during the primaries. A concentrated effort in 3 or 4 districts would have sent a loud message. That didn't happen, and throwing away a US Senate race and/or other races isn't going to accomplish anything good. At the federal level, the number #1 RKBA priority should be getting Constitutionalists put on the bench. If we lose the Senate, then that comes to a screeching halt. #2 priority should be passing pro-RKBA federal legislation. We need a GOP President, House and Senate to do that. Like Trump said, we need more Republicans. At the state level, I'd like to see us move towards Constitutional carry. If DeSantis wins, and we keep the state house and senate, I think things will slowly move in that direction. Ironically, by voting against Scott, you are simultaneously sinking any national pro-RKBA initiatives. |

This country likes for congress to go to the party that is not in the presidency, that has been the trend since Clinton, this is why our government never gets anything done. This year will be no different, history repeating itself. We could help switch a senate seat here in Florida, but probably won't happen. Next year will be interesting... View Quote Trump has kept his promises, hasn't made any big mistakes, and the economy is strong. There is the potential for the GOP to pick up many senate seats, but every seat is important. We have a great opportunity to defeat an incumbent leftist senator in a "swing" state. Those chances don't come along very often, so it is good to take them when they do. |

There are no bigger fish to fry than our Florida gun rights for folks who don't want to see our state become another California/New York/New Jersey ban state.
Think it can't happen; then you're delusional because with one stroke of Scott's pen, Florida is no longer The Gunshine State anymore and he both energized, and swung the the political momentum to the gun grabbers. So he could include the grabbers in his political base, and yet, some "deep thinkers" believe it's okay for him to retain our support. What message does that send to the remaining Republican legislators in the state? "Bigger fish to fry"? We're the fish who are going to be fried. "Chess not checkers" and laying down with dogs is how we become another California. When your own house is on fire, your own efforts need to be entirely directed towards putting out that fire; before worrying about any "Bigger Picture" down the road somewhere. |

So he could include the grabbers in his political base, and yet, some "deep thinkers" believe it's okay for him to retain our support. View Quote The "Gunshine state" led the way with concealed carry 30 years ago, but hasn't done much since. Many other states have leapfrogged us, and 14 or so now have constitutional carry. Not Florida. We have 2 million CCW holders, and have had a GOP house, senate, and governor for the last decade. And in the last 5 years, the only good thing they have done (with regards to the RKBA) has been reduce the CCW fee by $5. That's not their fault, that is *our* fault for not having a pro-active and effective state RKBA organization to lobby on our behalf. Shame on us. SB7026 was the culmination of this failure. A tragic mass shooting. A politically ambitious governor running for Senate. State senate and house leaders that were pro-RKBA in word only, and who have suppressed open carry for years. Intense media pressure. An NRA that had already backed down on bump stocks after Las Vegas. And a non-existent statewide RKBA lobbying/activist group. Again, shame on us. The only way to prevent Florida from becoming another Kalifornia is to elect strong conservatives. We have a great opportunity in DeSantis. If that fails, and there are some who think we are doomed anyway to become another Kalifornia because of demographics, the last resort is to the have Supreme Court rule those gun laws unconstitutional. We probably have a 5-4 majority after Kavanaugh is confirmed, but that is cutting it too close for comfort. Also, the court could easily flip to 5-4 liberal or worse, if the dems win the Senate and white house in 2020. We need to press our advantage while we can, and vote to keep the Senate Republican if for no other reason than to confirm Trump's nominees to the Supreme Court. Many people think Thomas will retire next year, and two other justices are over 80 years old. If the dems retake the Senate, they will simply hold those nominees until after the 2020 election, which even if Trump is re-elected, the dems will still control the Senate, so he will have to cut a deal with them. I don't claim to be a "deep thinker", just not an idiot. The choice is obvious: Scott will vote for Trump's nominees. Nelson will vote against them. |

Nothing will be fixed unless we show them some spine and kick them to the curb when they infringe on our 2nd amendment rights. I give up, I’m voting for Scott.
Nelson has been pissing me off for far too long, I’m not passing on the chance to send him packing, once and for all. There’s too much at stake here. If the socialist revolution were not in overdrive right now, I’d be more inclined to stand on principle, but the swamp is sooooooo deeeeeep the best chance we’ve had to clean it up (or even just expose its depths and players) is Trump. He needs every last vote in Senate, and even if we see a red wave (which I think might be likely), the LEFT is who needs to get the message that we aren’t putting up with their communist bullshit anymore. As for sending a message to state RINOS, I tried in the primaries, and by the numbers, my efforts were insignificant. Maybe I’ll just send a nasty letter to all those who voted SB 7026 letting them know that I didn’t really vote FOR them, just AGAINST the commies, and they better get in line or we’ll mount a recall. That’ll teach ‘em. We’re over a barrel and they know it. All we can do is shore up the Courts while we have the chance, so when the cards are finally played, some corrupt politicians are made examples of and hopefully see the inside of a cell. That’s our only chance of getting their attention, as I see it. |

Nothing ever changes. RINO's like Scott keep compromising conservative principles, and Republicans keep voting for them because they are the lessor of two shit sandwiches. Then Republicans complain when their Constitutional rights are given away one slice at a time. Nobody is willing to stand on a few basic principles, and risk anything at all. Sorry folks, I haven't heard any arguments that contradict this, I'm still leaving the Florida senate race part of the ballet blank.
As I've stated before, I'm will not compromise my core principles ever again. We will never have people representing us with the same belief until we take a stand, and risk something. Frankly, I'd rather lose quick, then lose slowly over time. The long path will never afford any serious resistance. |

Trump is trying to fix things, but he needs help in the way of more Republicans. He screwed gunowners who were faithful voters, threw us under the bus then kissed up to the Puerto Ricans, encouraging the mass exodus into FL after last years hurricane. He can go have intercourse with himself. |

The Second Amendment has been around for more than 200 years. People kill innocent people. Let's have a conversation about how we destroy ISIS. The Second Amendment didn't kill anybody; this is ISIS." And much like Parkland, multiple agencies were aware of the shooter and took no action. But Scott defended the 2nd Amendment then. After Parkland, Scott threw FL Gun Owners under the bus for political expediency since it is an election year and he is running for Senate. His actions and that of the FL GOP showed their true colors. The FL GOP itself is anti gun. |

The polls actually have Nelson losing. Scott is a strong candidate, and doing extremely well among people who moved here from Puerto Rico after the hurricane last year. It is rare to have a chance to unseat an incumbent Senator in a swing state. But we have a good chance here. Trump needs every Senate seat he can get (see my post above). I'm writing in "2nd Amendment". Nelson has been squatting in that seat for years. He is likely to win regardless but a vote for Scott is telegraphing to the GOP that a "little" gun control is fine, just fine.. It is rare to have a chance to unseat an incumbent Senator in a swing state. But we have a good chance here. Trump needs every Senate seat he can get (see my post above). Puerto Rico Gov. in Florida: Turn 'outrage' over hurricane response into votes Marco Rubio is no tax hero: Puerto Rico's governor vows revenge for unequal treatment in GOP bill Governor of Puerto Rico Promises Revenge for Republican Betrayal Puerto Rico governor vows midterm revenge for tax bill Puerto Rico governor vows to make Florida Republicans pay for supporting tax bill Poll of Puerto Ricans in Florida has good news for Dems and for Gov. Scott 57 percent of surveyed Puerto Ricans in Florida said they were most likely to vote for Democratic candidates. Just 7 percent said they were most likely to vote for Republican. The poll has some positive signs for Gov. Rick Scott, the GOP candidate challenging U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla.
An estimated 1.2 million Puerto Ricans now live in Florida, a population that rivals the number of Cubans, who have historically been enormously influential in Florida politics, said Eduardo Gamarra, a political science professor at Florida International University. The vast majority live in the Interstate 4 corridor, with 61 percent in the Orlando area and 22 percent in Tampa Bay. Miami-Dade and Broward counties were home to 17 percent. Florida's GOP candidate for governor wants nothing to do with Trump's Puerto Rico conspiracy Florida Republicans create distance with Trump on Puerto Rico Trump complicates Florida GOP's play for Puerto Rican voters GOP consultant's bottom line on Puerto Rico death count: Puerto Ricans don't vote Republican. Rick Scott is getting Boricua Support and that's it. The rest of the FL GOP is getting nothing. With the migration, the 2020 Census will redistrict the Florida Legislature to favor more Democrats. We are on death's bed and wasting away. |

Penny wise, pound foolish. The "Gunshine state" led the way with concealed carry 30 years ago, but hasn't done much since. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

There are no bigger fish to fry than our Florida gun rights for folks who don't want to see our state become another California/New York/New Jersey ban state. Think it can't happen; then you're delusional because with one stroke of Scott's pen, Florida is no longer The Gunshine State anymore and he both energized, and swung the the political momentum to the gun grabbers. So he could include the grabbers in his political base, and yet, some "deep thinkers" believe it's okay for him to retain our support. Marion Hammer blocked any other Pro Gun Organization from having a say lobbying in the Legislature. I know... I was there and saw it with my own eyes. Secondly, the FL GOP was backed by Marion Hammer and backed their own pro gun bill blockers. It was the Speaker of the House and Senate President that appointed who sat in what committees and where bills were to go. Amazingly, since 2010, every pro gun bill for expanded has been killed by Republicans in majority Republican Committees. View Quote The state GOP needs better elected officials. If elected, DeSantis will be the most pro-RKBA governor we have had in decades. And there are many good state reps running for the first time who opposed SB7026. It takes time to change things.... The real fight now is at the national level. Scott in the Senate means Trump has another reliable vote to confirm judges to the Supreme Court. If we lose the Senate, the dems won't allow any nominations to come up for a vote. |

Only President in over 50 years that has said he would not sign assault weapons ban or a semi auto ban, President Trump, vote to send him all the help he needs[/b] View Quote We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tilt the Supreme Court back to interpreting the Constitution, because of the following: 1) Conservative President who has already made two great picks. The last Republicans presidents made some good selections, but also had some horrible ones (Souter) 2) Republican Senate 3) Two leftist judges that are over 80 years old, and a third that isn't in great health 4) A conservative judge who is 70 and probably wants to retire, as he is the longest serving justice on the Court Opportunity only knocks once, and I don't think people understand how rare the concurrence of all these events are. If the GOP keeps the Senate, Trump will likely get at least 1, and possibly even 3 more Supreme Court selections before his first term ends. If the dems take the Senate, he gets zero. How anybody who claims to be a conservative or pro-RKBA is even considering not voting for Scott is baffling. It is almost like they want to lose just to have something to complain about..... |
