It's been forever and a day since I went to a gun show, what's the rule for LTC carry on premises?

Private event, so you can be trespassed by the show manager if you bring in a loaded gun.  Leave the ammo in the car and the cops will tie it when you come in.  Whatever caliber it is you can buy some and load your mag as soon as you leave the show.  If you need help cutting the tie holler and I'll come out & cut it.

Whats the word on the price increase at FtW Will Rogers?

I was told by an FFL buddy they raised the price to $150, but Premier's website says $100.  I made the mistake of going to the Waxahachie show last weekend, I was told by several they werent going to pay the higher price, but others told me they were charged the normal $100.

Premier is charging FFLs & non-gun sellers $100/table.  If you have a gun for sale on your table but are not an FFL, they're charging you $150/table.

Waxahachie isn't a Premier show anymore, it's American Gun.

Do any of the usual dealers at the Mesquite show carry the SCT Glock clone frames?  

If I can pickup a SCT17 frame tomorrow, I might build out a new gun.  Otherwise, I'll have a Gen3 G34 slide to list on the EE (don't feel like ordering one since I haven't gotten a replacement local FFL yet).

I have not been to any shows in the last three months but there aren’t usually Glock frames being sold at Mesquite that I remember.    

There is one dealer that has had a G17 frame for like two years that he brings to every show.  I’m not sure of the brand though.  He wanted way too much for it.  

The Fort Worth show has a few dealers that sell frames.  One is locally made.  Hopefully someone else can chime in as to the brands.  

Or just go and enjoy the show anyway.  
Even if you don’t find that specific frame, you get to look at and handle a ton of guns.   It’s a good day.

I've honestly never enjoyed a gunshow since moving to Mesquite


Way too crowded

Way too many baby mamas buying shit for thug daddys who reek of weed.  

Plus I work overnight 12s, so even though it's literally three miles away, it's a pain in the rear and takes away from my family and sleep time.  

Worth it if I can get what I need in an hour, otherwise a horrible experience.

5th Circuit has nixed weed as a disqualifier.  Come enjoy the smell of freedom.

Mesquite Police are unwittingly sponsoring an open air gun show this Saturday morning from 8-11 AM at the Mesquite Rodeo.

They're giving out gift cards worth $150 for long guns & "ghost guns", and $100 gift cards for handguns.  This is a great opportunity to snag some rocking deals for little cash, and dispose of any unservicable cheap guns like out of time Rohms & RGs, or a cheap blowback semi-auto that doesn't work.

Unfortunately I'll be at the Waxahachie show, but please make it an embarrassment for the city of Mesquite and the PD.  Wear your wet weather gear, rain is expected.

Depending on the line, the best bet to get cheap deals is probably near the corner of Rodeo Drive on Rodeo Center Boulevard.  Houston police have tried to run off cash buyers from their buybacks before, let's put Mesquite PD in an awkward position.

No fucking shit - that's on the their webpage I linked to.  The only option to ask about their funshow is... Dispatch.  Clearly you didn't bother calling it before posting.

Thinking about College Street Pub in Waxahachie tomorrow night.  We've been to Southern Roots Brewing before, but they don't have a food menu on their website.

I won't be able to attend, but I would think the most productive cash buys from punters would be close to the compass rose on the map.

If anyone else has better suggestions, or gets better intel on the ground, please post up.

Keep in mind the hotel has paid parking, so if you don't want to pay for parking, look carefully at the lot signs.  Paid parking may be a useful tool if the Mesquite Police try to run off their competition paying more in cash than they have in gift cards.

I had looked at the aerials quite a bit, and even printed a sign, but since I see Arfcom promoting it so much, It seems it will be covered and I'm not going to make the trip.

I don't think the police will let you on the Rodeo Drive, but who knows.  You can get to the hotel parking lots from the other driveways, but the police could keep the drop-offs from leaving Rodeo Drive once they arrive.  There might be an interesting 1st Amendment case in there if they are blocking a public street, especially if you're just showing a political sign, not trying to buy.  Civil rights abuse lawsuits pay better than selling slamfire shotguns, I hear.

I would plan to be north of there on Rodeo Center just south of the Scyene interchange.  There's some new office parking lots there, or the other two hotel lots before you get to Rodeo Drive.  80%+ are going to be arriving from the north like that.
