Lots of little stuff here and the occasional jack pot. I'll be there early Saturday.

ETA:  I went about 11. It was completely packed with people. Prices seemed very high, $650 for a used Gen 3 Glock 20, $750 for a new marlin 1894 44m, $1200 for a PSA 6.5 Creedmore.

Lots of vendors but didn't look like much was moving.  I got there around 2pm and several of the vendors I talked to said they hadn't sold anything all day.
Had some ask about the stuff I was carrying around but as soon as they found out it wasn't low end stuff they moved on.

Lots of AR's and parts, lots of scopes and optics. I saw a Citadel 1911 for $329 but passed. (wished I hadn't now)  I did have a custom kydex holster made for my Taurus PT909 truck gun. The Old El Paso folks had a leather one that was nice but would have been about half what I paid for the gun.

To the group of retired Marines set up next to the front entrance, there is a difference in asking for a donation and strong arm robbery. I'll leave it at that.

I just make sure I keep one of their current drawing tickets in my wallet.  I figure it's protection money.

Sherman, Nacogdoches, & Lewisville.  Pretty small shows, but worthwhile if you live close or searching for that particular classic firearm.

With a few exceptions, the Sherman show is a collection of FUDD guns and local pawn shop fodder. For the most part, this is a pretty useless show. Unless you are looking for something specific, it's in and out in less than 30 minutes.

There's a joke there, but I'm not touching it.

The Waco show I caught recently was small, and you could cruise it in 30 minutes, but I think I managed 45 minutes to an hour, and managed to get a sword for my step-daughter.

In the Fudd guns there are always some sporterized milsurps - I recently discovered my sporterized 91/30 had an SA stamp on the bbl.

Lewisville is a small show.  The regular Premier dealers are there, all that will fit.  There is a gun store next door, but they don't have a lot.

Irving hasn't had a show in forever, it was a lot like Allen's show setup in the arena.

18-19 August

Big Town Mesquite - Premier

Unfortunately won't be able to make it, but y'all have fun.  The Big Town show might not be quite as large as Premier's Will Rogers' show in Fort Worth, but the parking is free, if crowded, and the show is seemingly always packed.  I've been going for nearly 30 years and have always enjoyed this show.

My apologies for not updating this sooner.  Exciting week.

We really need a portable range trailer we can take to the gun shows, so you can shoot AND go to the gun show.  And then folks could test guns before they buy, test guns before they leave the show, etc.

I've thought about hosting a swap meet at my place with a testing area before. More details with it than I want to deal with.

What time do the doors open on Saturday? I haven't been to a gun show in years.

Would this be a good venue for me to sell my Marlin 1894c, Walther PPKs and maybe a Glock 19 face to face for cash? Do I need to make a sign or just walk around with the guns I want to sell?  I would need to leave by noon if I do go.

Saturday 9-5, Sunday 10-4.

You'll have the best chance of selling them if you make some signs.  Muzzle flag sign for the rifle, sign for your back listing the pistols & prices, OC the pistols if you can.  Dealers will offer what they can afford to buy it for, based on what they think they can get for it - don't be insulted.  Buyers in the aisles will offer a little more money.  Be sure you're selling to a state resident or FFL.

25-26 August

Burleson
Canton
Crockett
Fort Worth (Premier)
Jefferson

We have ALL the shows in north Texas this weekend - a bit like Tulsa - 17 seconds to spend @ each table, but more time spent in the car than at the actual shows, if you were to hit all 5.  I'll be at the Fort Worth show @ Will Rogers - plenty of parking, it's the equal, if not the big brother, to Premier's Big Town show last weekend.

BBQ @ the Railhead on Montgomery, noon on Saturday?  Post up if that works.

I didn't especially like the BBQ place we went to last time. If that place was Railhead, then let's go somewhere else.

On second thought, count me out for lunch. I can't leave my puppy caged for more than three hours so I really will only get two hours at the show. So, go wherever you want for lunch, even if it's an anti-gun hipster joint with mediocre BBQ.

Oh, hell no, we're not going back to Heim.  They post 30.07 and they don't know what lean means - nor can you see the chopman.

Railhead BBQ is just south of I-30 on Montgomery - so a long walk to the show if for some reason I discovered that my van decides it doesn't want to start again.

Don't remember what bldg the ARFStore was in, but here's the address:  Civic Center, 800 Flea Market Rd.

Looks like there's a $1 off coupon here:
