Here is my first ar 15, Its a cmmg lower with a psa 14.7 kit. I was really supprised with how easy it was to put together

That is the only problem I see with so many people getting into this so fast. Not doing homework and bringing more scrutiny on the entire community...

Thanks! Both of the green sets actually came from Mega with what I believe is OD green Duracoat. They were made by Mega for a company called Red River Tactical that is now out of business and I bought both matched sets from the former owner. I would describe the color as somewhere between magpul od green and foliage green. If you want to do something similar for your build, I would recommend 2 options.
1: buy an od rguns set from ailmsurplus.com 2: get some od green alumahyde II from brownells and take your time spraying it I love the way these look and I am contemplating doing another build with the colors reversed. |

Would you care to enlighten us? Short version IIRC: if 26" or longer it no longer is "concealable" by ATF's standards and is allowed to have a VFG without being an AOW. It may fall into a sort of uncategorized firearm class like pistol grip shotguns which aren't technically either pistols or shotguns by definition. |

Got my PSA Dissy mid-length in Friday. Shot it yesterday just to sight it in. Shoots good so far. Wish I had had time to put it through some drills. Overall I like it. Will be putting it through drills in a couple weekends from now. HATE BEING ON-CALL!

It isn't fancy but here is mine.
PSA stripped SAFE/FIRE lower. PSA MOE LPK. PSA MOE Mid-length upper. Troy fixed Battle-Sight. Some cheap Nylon sling that I slapped on for deer season.

Just got my 14.7" 4140 steel upper in. Here's my complete build before putting on rail and stuff. Fit between upper and lower is good - not super tight but not wiggling around either. Finish match is is fine, the pictures show some difference but only because the upper is oily and the lower is dry.

Missing MOE trigger guard as PSA forgot to include that. I emailed them and made a thread here about it, hope it comes soon, as it looks awesome even without it. Thats my 20 inch psa kit below. Both hammer forged, 14.7 is lightweight. 20 inch functioned flawless at range, gonna take out 14.7 maybe tomorrow see how she goes.. |

Thanks guys! Keep up the great work! The only issue I had with the build other than a smoking credit card was a poorly drilled gas port in my Noveske barrel but the burr should disappear in a few mags worth of ammo.
ETA...Shot it today...put a few mags through her and it ran great. Here's a picture of my wife putting it through its paces...

Yours was making all kinds of sounds tightening it up....was making me nervous. Shoulda let you do it to in case I ended up breaking something... 
In all reality it's a pretty easy rail to work with. No it's not as easy as a Troy or other clamp on style rails and the price of the wrench sucks...but IMHO it's one of the best rails on the market. The built in front sight makes it at bargain for what you get as well. On top of that they're right there with the lightest rails on the market without giving up any strength. CMS |
