Lol it works on every band except 40m.

ETA I didn't try to call on 20 because you were very faint.  A few of the responding stations were loud on both bands.  Seems like I might be in the skip zone on 20 and I probably need to use my horizontal antenna on 40 instead of the vertical.  If you're east of me, I've got mountains that are likely blocking the takeoff angle on the vertical antenna.

I was running legal limit, and the static on 40 meters was S9+ tonight.  There is likely nothing wrong with your antenna.

20 is rough for me tonight. The only one above the static has been Bob MA 55.

You were in and out here on 40m. On 20m, I had to turn the volume on my radio down to not go deaf.

I'm guessing that this winter we will have a much better path.

I'll start this net on 20 meters then move to 40 meters tonight to see if the propagation works out better.

Net will start on or around 14.338.  20 is reasonably quiet here right now.

Edit: on the phone with a work call should be able to kick it off at 5 til.

I heard NCS about 40% on 20m, enough to hear the call for checkins.  Thanks for the relay from MA. TX was a good copy and I could hear CA.

I made an error when mentioning signal reports. I did actually hear Bruce in TX at a 54 here in MA, which is a rare occurrence; I usually cannot hear him at all.

No worries, sounds like the early net was rough.

Let's kick this off on 20 meters tonight.  I'll post the frequency @ 19:55CDT.

14.342 looks GTG

Edit: I didn't hear any ARFCOM stations on 20 meters, my noise floor is only S2 so I should have heard anyone out there.  I won't be calling the net on 40 meters due to time constraints.

I listened but was too close in to copy the NCS.

CRAP...

Forgot all about the net, I was watering my lawn.
Last week and last few days have been nice, 75 - 78 degrees.
Today was 97, had to get water on the lawn.

Got to make myself a reminder for the nets I like to check into.

The early net and this one are every Tuesday night.  Unfortunately I haven't been home the last two weekends to call the late net, tonight isn't looking much better for getting home in time to call it.
