Do you or anyone else have more info of the M200 in service? Do you know if it's a case of a few being personally ordered by operators, or is it standard issue to some groups? I've tried to research this topic before but nothing I could come up with said it was in use here.

You can tell the difference between a Mk 15 from a Canadian or standard TAC-50 by a NV mount. I've tried my best to identify this rail but I couldn't come up with anything maybe it's proprietary? Want to come up with a build guide for it so it can start being cloned.

Talked to a buddy of mine, and he said the night vision mount is a KAC part similar to this one, but obviously a little different.   If you email Knight's they might be able to give you a part number.  In CD's photo you can see what looks like a KAC marking, too.

Just got off the phone with Allen Brown. I’m sending all my parts for my mk13 mod 5 build. It takes 9 months. I should have the mk11 can approved by then. I have a few questions. How can I tell if my trigger is the old style or the new x-mark? Also I believe I got the info a while back in this thread about rings. I was going to use the MARS rail with nightforce A107 rings. He mentioned the IMUNS and I think he mentioned badger rings????  Someone school me please on the trigger and top rail and rings.

I have an m24 trigger but he didn’t seem to crazy about that. If I have the xmark or whatever maybe I can find an old trigger somewhere?

This thread needs some vintage sniper rifles......

Top to bottom:
Winchester Lee Navy Model 1895 prototype sniper rifle, only one known
Remington 1903A4, unique in the fact that the scope is original to the rifle
Remington M40, 224xxx
Remington 40X with Sionics modified barrel, this rifle was tested by the MCDEC (scope base is marked as such) in the 1970's as a possible replacement to the M40

New and old.......

Here are two amazing war used guns that shows how far we've advanced in over 600 years of firearms development!  This small wrought iron handgonne was used in the Battle of Aljubarrota on August 14, 1385 and my sniper platoon (1/4 SSP) used this IBA XM3 in Fallujah, Iraq in 2008-09!  The second pic shows the size of this archaic firearm, it's roughly the size of a Remington 700 short action receiver, but has a larger diameter.

Even though the handgonne isn't a sniper rifle, it should still have a place in this thread, as it represents the very beginning of firearms development. In fact, this handgonne is one of the world's oldest known firearms, there are only 2 or 3 dateable firearms that can be proven to be older than it (along with a few other known Aljubarrota guns). Without the progression from this small hand cannon, we wouldn't have this mil sniper thread full of awesome rifles!

Awesome rifle, love that UID tag! Looking through the entire group of original Mk13 Mod 0 stocks, I only found 3 or 4 stocks that had a UID tag, so it's definitely a very rare characteristic!

Can somebody measure the barrel at the muzzle for their mod0/1 for me? Somebody awhile back had asked me what barrel I went with. Mr. Dan Ross used a Douglas barrel for my build, same barrels he used to build the mk13s for American Sniper. Tho it does look real thin in my stock, the McMillan A2 that I bought off a friend was actually channeled for a thicker barrel. Not really sure what I can do about that but get a heavier barrel when I shoot this one out. I think I measured 0.855 at the muzzle, which Lilja's chart says their Tactical 30cal barrel measured 0.780 at the muzzle @27" (mine was 26.5)

I just got off the phone with Alan Brown...he had some things he was dealing with over the winter and is a couple of months behind schedule.  Which since he is the MK13 expert, nothing to do but wait.  I don't think I will have any fingers left after chewing on them while I wait for my rifle to be built.  That does leave me time to work on the M40A5 though, which will also need to be sent off to get put together.  I think for us, waiting on parts, then waiting on our gunsmith, then waiting on UPS...we could outlast any wait times.  Of course we will have turned grey and then pulled our hair out...but we will be some bad ass bald dudes with kick-ass rifles.

I sent him my parts about a month ago. He said 9 months. Which is fine because the mk11 suppressor should be approved just in time to be fitted.
Can anyone tell me about this bolt. Can anyone say what the numbers might be and what extractor it has.

One just sold on ebay today for close to $600. I was actually expecting it to sell for more, they are extremely rare, I only know of 2 others. In fact, I'm not sure I can think of a Mk13 part from any of the Mod's that is more rare than this flash hider. A friend of mine was talking to a Crane armorer a while back and was told that these flash hiders were used on Navy SEAL Mk13 Mod 7's, so you need one if you are going to do a SEAL spec build. Apparently, Surefire only sold these to the Navy and I'm not sure if they've produced anymore beyond that initial shipment. Just passing what I've heard, hopefully it's accurate. I highly doubt another one of these flash hiders will ever show up for sale again, but if one does, expect sky prices.
